We thank Aaron Rdgers for the support he has shown ro Butte County after the Camp Fire destroyed 95% of Paradise, California, November 8, 2018. Aaron grew up in Butte County, going to school in nearby Chico. (Pleadant Valley High School.) Chico and other areas were severely impacted as well by the influx of 57,000 homeless from Parafise.
We found the most therapeutic way to process the fire was getting together with church members and schoolmates who had gone through the same experience of loss of community, property, and the trauma of escaping by driving through flames on both sides of the roads.
Our beautiful 1,000+ capacity SDA church was completely destroyed by the fire, as were many others.
Our school (Paradise Adventist Academy) has met for 2 1/2 years at the Hooker Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church crammed into every space on the church grounds including the stage on the Gym, Sabbath School church classrooms, and temporary modular classrooms.
The greatest support the kids have found was being with others who had gone through the same traumas. (We were back up and running school just after Thanksgiving, far ahead of most schools in the area.) Some families who left the area have returned because students elsewhere could not relate to the needs of their personal support base. No one who has not beennon this journey can totally understand the depth of loss our children have suffered. They are their own support team.
Covid hit hard by keeping them apart with social distancing and remote learning.
Paradise Adventist Academy is returned to a completely restored campus next August. Our campus was miraculously saved by firefighters God placed in the right place that night.
Damage to the Academy was completely restored through insurance money to better than new condition. One K-4 building burned, but we have excess classroom capacity for the next few years while that building is replaced.
We never dreamed that our students would have to endure such grief, but God is battle hardening and maturing them in ways that have amazed u and made us stronger.
We have a long road of recovery ahead, but we are blessed.

Pure Class Mr Rodgers. As a military brat and veteran who, fortunately did not have to experience the loss these kids have, I appreciate this incredible act of caring and kindness. for those of you who attribute these actions as a quest by Aaron to garner personal publicity, Get Real. The last thing he needs is more publicity, good or bad. The organization is getting the publicity and opportunity to educate us on some really great programs by showcasing Aaron. Such a wonderful human being and along with Larry Fitzgerald, is the class of the NFL.

I am a Packers fan from Wales in the UK and have supported the Packers since 1981, when NFL first came to the UK. I chose the Packers because I took to heart that the Packers were a community, not just owned by some corporation or rich guy. Everything you hear about the Pack on and off the field can't help but move you emotionally, bike rides to practice, all the help via foundations, personal appearances, etc. I love the fact that ALL the players not just Aaron, get involved so much in the community. These guys are great role models to young kids. Even with all the privileges they have earned through their talent, they realise how lucky they are to play a game they love and be able to give that love back to their community. I am proud to be a Packers fan. GO PACK GO!

We need more of these stories. Athletes making a difference. I love sharing these types of stories on our website cleatgeeks.com/. If you know of any such stories that touched your life like this one by Aaron Rodgers. Please visit our website and share that story. Once I get a few of them sent to us I want to do a weekly article of #MakeAdifferenceMonday.
