I purchased A Cayin CS88 from you folks about 8 months ago...I am naturally somewhat bias due to that fact but all I can say is this...your team was great to deal with and I am incredibly happy with the Cayin product...the one thing I have done is to tube roll all tubes on the unit and absolutely love the result...bought higher end tubes but nothing over $100 per tube...super happy with the result...thx very much guys
Adrian & Vilip, I really liked your previous format which kept me in suspense as you built up to a like or dislike and why. Please stay authentic to your conversation style review format. Don't change!
Hi Adrian and Vilip. Love your reviews which are the most relatable I’ve ever seen. Would it be possible for you to make some DAC comparisons in the 5-7000 USD range? I feel there is really a lot of offering and not sufficient amount of trustworthy reviews like yours. Thanks in advance and happy new year to you and your loved ones!
Years ago I almost bought a inexpensive caiyan 65i class a integrated from all the growing reviews and sorta wish I bought it. Someday I hope to try one. This brand makes good stuff! Thanks guys!
My old cayin 252 amp is still working perfectly. Never switched it off for 10 years. It is connected to my home made 18 drivers hexagon speakers in my music room.. This amp is strong as a bear in fact mutch better than many expensive amps.
I've got a kt88 2 and really happy with it.Had a 88 gave problems with 1x 88 tube but since renewing all 4 valves no problems since. The remote is great solid and can switch on the fly between triode U/L from the remote which is really handy
Great review, really enjoy you guys, and Vilip, as always, great tech detail with interesting pondering of circumstances. Do agree with you on the Diana Krall cover. I have a small issue: I recently bought the Cayin CS-6PH phono pre and I love its musicality and detail. I use it for my old VPI Scout with a DV 20x MC cartridge and it sounds amazing. Right now I am running it through a Sugden A 21se amp w PMC twenty5-22i speakers , which doesn't sound that great, as the amp doesn't like the input. It gets pretty noisy, as in hum, with it? Do you think that a pairing with the CS-150A instead would work better. Just wondering?
I really enjoy your reviews and thank you for another great one :) I currently have Hegel H190 and I am thinking about replacing it with Cayin CS805A to drive Harbeth C7ES3. I really like Hegel, but tubes are so inviting! What do you think about replacing Hegel H190 with Cayin 805? Thanks!
I'm kinda shrugging. Only because I found a guy who builds custom tube amps with bare wire. He cherry picks the best components, no compromises. He offered to "replicate" the Unison Research Simply Italy amp (2500€) for 1800€. I mean he's literally taking the schematics and building it better.
Perhaps you could listen to the Fezz Audio Titania (KT88), made in Poland. In my opinion, so much better than any Cayin product (construction and soundwise).
Excellent video. The format is fine. I like your other format as well. But if I’m in a hurry I don’t mind hearing a conclusion first. However, your conclusions are never really as meaningful as they are after you’ve explained why you have arrived at them. I am interested in buying an integrated tube amplifier and have been considering Wilsenton, this example and possibly the Doge 10.
My brother in law bought a DENON amp in the 90s. He paid a fortune for the best model. A week later, one of my friends spilled a whole can of coke in it while it was on off. And we didn't tell anyone. When the brother in law turned it on.. It basically caught in fire and took his glass turntable and his vinyl collection with it.. I'm sure he still hates my guts, 30 years later.
Let's have a discussion between the higher end Synthesis vs Cayin line. Soul 170i vs A50 Taurus/A100 Titan. The only downside for the Soul is its 680watt power consumption. Way too much.
There are definitely not enough professional reviews of Cayin products, especially how they compare to more popular brands of similar price. With all the different Cayin models as well, its hard to find information about how they differ in sound.
There is no such thing as best amp, and best audio equipment, only decent enough ones and and not decent enough ones. All I see in new audio, is people trying to reinvent the wheel, or the emporers new clothes. This happens at all price points. Reviews are totally meaningless. Only by people listening to audio products and using their own ears can a conclusion be made about the out come of audio components sound quality to that individual. Plus when it comes to a vast majority of valve / tube amplifiers, they are a rats nest and of poorer quality, and not the short straight wire with gain approach, but mostly a total rats mess of a longer and poorer quality signal path, accept for a very few manufacturers. Tube amps are just different levels of distortion devices anyway, and are not mostly the modern day audio devices, in any way shape or form the audio sound devices that were used in a modern recording studio as reguards the recorded signal line, and audio components used, of which will be a totally different sound altogether.
This must be a new years joke! Good bye Markham/ new market!! What a joke that Toronto hasn't a real stereo store anymore 😕 this is bloor radio with more expensive stuff 😳 wow 👏it's completely gone the passion of tone 😔

10 years. Do you live close to the polar circle?
Knutarne is the antihero, I guess. No clue how to treat a tube amp…. I feel sorry for him 😢
@@bikemike1118
Cayin 252 is a transistor amp, not tubes...
@ okay… thought this company makes only tube amps
Nice to see you guys ! ... Those Acora Bookshelf speakers are looking great in there ! =)
Can you briefly compare the 150A with the 100A and the 845A?
Thank you!

Want to hear more about the Cayin Soul!
Appreciate the style!

Seems they had the 170i Soul in house but didn't review it, thats a real shame.

For sure go for 805a!
I have the cayin at50....and I love it.
If I only need 50 watts what is better in tonality and have that meat on bones sound? The cs-805a or the cs-150a!
I’m pretty sure that Cayin is produced in the same factory that Prima Luna is.
Hi!
Isnt the measurements 420x389*218mm and not 420*489*218?
is transparency and detail in a strings of a guitar primarily a function of the amplification or the DAC?
For just under $2,000 US you can get a Musical Paradise MP 501 with KT 150 tubes. It is designed in Canada and made in China.

I interest on cayin 170i when can do.that review
When will you do the Soul 170i video??? THAT ONE is a very interesting amp...
Wich is better cayenne or primaluna
I wonder how compares to a similar priced amp as Parasound JC5. I think you reviewed the JC5 while ago.
How does it compare with Macintosh ma 252
I heard the mac252 and cs100a , eyes closed anyone could like either. I liked Cayin 100A
Wonderful review! what about The speakers ? Justo they be high efficient speakers? Does the Cayin control well a 89db speaker . Cheers from Spain
Cayin CS-100A or MC275 as a power amplifier?
Little LED spotlights are THE most irritating aspects of far too many manufacturers. So, I'm with Vilip on this one.
I was hoping this past Christmas Santa Claus would of brought Vilip a personality,..LOL ,..maybe next Christmas,,
I wonder how does it compare with Hegel H390
Perhaps you could listen to the Fezz Audio Titania (KT88), made in Poland. In my opinion, so much better than any Cayin product (construction and soundwise).
It's cheaper too! No really.
sounds like a nice piece of kit to compete with Prima Luna
shoots...for that price, id just get that Line Magnetic 219ia amp with the Master Lock turn dial switches on it....
I know that each amplifier has its own set of speakers who best "matches". Do you think Cayin CS-150A would play a Magnepan 1.7?
I'm interested to know too.
@@lakaylukas so I'm I
I think you left to mention which amp and speakers were used?
how would these Chinese amps stack against the ARC i/50?
Seems like this Cayin competes with the Hegel H390, anyone care to comment on comparisons between these two?
How does this amp compare to a Prima Luna?
For an integrated in that price range I would hope for a phono stage and/or a headphone stage.
if the cs 150 is so good why did you sell your client the 805?

Hi Arian, How does Cayin compare to similar Primaluna?
They are too polite to even say the name Primaluna, they hinted at it in the video. That's all you get with these guys.
You do know they used to be a PrimaLuna dealer?
@@richm4402😮
It's made by the same factory.

Wow 👏 this thing is a eastern sight!
KT150s are so last year, hah! Give me an amp using KT170 bottles! Keep up the good work.
Asia? You mean China!

Zzzzzz...Diana Krall, Aretha Franklin, V. Williams, Whitney Houston...Better stick to being nerdy, loaded techies. Music's not really your forte.
Hopelessly introduction to the video. Conclusion first did not work at all. Sorry guys, you lost me. So annoying I turned it off.
Those tubes suck!!

Go to Paris my man! There are lots of speaker boutiques over there selling new and vintage gear. I'm going the assembled DIY route.
