That is a horrible translation(Harry potter) from English into Scots, that's not 'braid' scots anyway. Really more plugging in Scots words and keeping English grammar.

I spent a few months in Stranraer and Glasgow in the late 1950s. In Glasgow, I had trouble understanding them for a while, but eventually conquered most Glaswegian. However, Scots still came up. I remember folk talking about someone being a wee bit glaykid (stupid) and someone having a wee bit of trouble with his een (eyes). I've deliberately spelt them in the way they were pronounced. Sadly, dialects and the like are disappearing fast. Although a Londoner, I used to live in Portsmouth in the 50s to 70s. I recall the Waterloo to Portsmouth train pulling into Havant, about 10 miles from Portsmouth. The announcer would say, "' avant, this is 'avant. Change 'ere for the Broiton Loin, : change 'ere for 'ayling Oiland"! Sadly, the 'ampshire Burr's gone and they sound like Londoners now.

The West PA spelling (yes U.S. Scotch Irish) was noted as "Glakid"

@@CarlsLingoKingdom Well, the dialects have diverged because of the 3 centuries of degradation through Scottish English becoming the higher prestige language. There are other theories that Scots longevity as a non-stanardized language has been aided by these dialect regions/towns. Ulster(Scots) itself has a few variant 'dialect' /accent regions . The further from the central belt of scotland (borderds, orkney, ulster) you actually have retention of 'older' grammatical and phonological features.
