I’ve never thought of lookin straight down the bore to get boresighted lol. I can dig it. Glad i came across ur vid, in case my little laser gives out on me one day.
I just bought the Vortex scope and installed it on my first AR-15 I built. I'm excited to go to the range now and sight it in based on the vids of yours I've watched. Keep up the awesome work!
I liked your video and hillbilly mat!. Over the years, I have invested in a couple inexpensive spotting scopes for sighting in, the latest was up to 60X, it made sighting in sooo much easier in determining where I hit. Especially sighting in with low power scopes and iron sights. Also save trips back and forth to the target. The trick I use is I print two of the same targets, one I shoot and the other I mark where I hit, makes it much easier to evaluate the target without walking back and forth.
Thank's for the video and good info. My son and I sighted a Simon 3x9x10 scope on to a ruger 10/22. We used a shotgun clay until we hit it. Then moved on to paper. I was proud of my son and I. That we got to do that. I've never sighted a scope in the pass. I take my frifles to gun store. Thank's again great video.
Very good optics for the price as far as I'm concerned. I have never used their warranty. I sight at twenty-five yards first to get on paper, then 100, 200 etc. to verify BDC. Two of the people hunting my property this year used the 6.5 Grendel. Both one shot kills on big bucks at 78 and 153 yards with the Gold Dot. Another good TGD video. Be safe.
I bought the same scope. And you made it easy to understand.... That last shot you made i saw miss the board entirely landed in hill upper left. Or. Fid it go thru the same hole in the wood.
Awesome scope man . Always want one. I been running Baraka as cheap scopes and Simmons for years . Must expensive scope I run and love Is my new nikon on my 7mm mag. But that gun shop waiting to see If barrel can be saved. Had brass from old factory Remington ammo get stuck up in the barrel not letting my gun extract a empty or loaded rd
Honest review with average guy range tools. Appreciate that sir. We call that grandpa bore sighting. He was quite the rifleman. Didn't need that fancy shit. LOL. I just picked up the same optic with mount from PSA $200 discount with "strike" code. It's for my 16" 556. I believe that reticle is made for that caliber. Hope you had a successful hunt. Any final thoughts on that mag? Was it a bad spring or just one of those things. Stay healthy America.
That’s right, no fancy sh*t needed! 😂. Yes that reticle will serve you well with the 5.56, and the mag was just a lemon best I can tell, I have 2 others that work fine and their 24 round mags work great as well.
For the warranty they offer its worth the money, or maybe I should say the investment. $500 is a chunk of my monthly income, Yes I am one of "the poors" I suppose, but I'm happy and I have all that I need, and some of what I want. My first LPVO was a Bushnell .223 that cost me $129.99 + shipping, and I really liked it, but it didn't hold up to my punishments and the warranty sucked, so the Warranty is everything.
@@thegundungeon I have twice and both were because of my own stupidity. They also reached out to me on the UA-cams to offer me a free hat since I whined in the comments that a youtuber got one with his warranty return, and I didn't. That made my day, and got me a very sweet cover for my melon.
Aim Dead Center, Then Take 1 Shot & Measure Where Ur Impact Was... Example: If U Were 8 Inches To The Right (Windage), Then U Take 8x4=32, So 32 Clicks Left Would Put U Close... Do The Same With Ur Elevation, If U Were Shooting 6 Inches High, Then Take 6x4=24, So 24 Clicks Down, Should Get U Very Close...
You don't have a clue what they are talking about. The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 has 1/2 MOA adjustments not 1/4 MOA. So, following your instructions will just make zeroing the scope more difficult
You can do that and over complicate the process. Or you can take your shot, hold your crosshair on your point of aim, hold gun steady and adjust turrets to walk the crosshair to your point of impact. I've zeroed hundreds upon hundreds of firearms, I do this every time and 9.9 times out of 10 I can zero with only 2 shots.

It works good enough to get on paper, just can’t do it with lever actions and some semi autos. Thanks for watching!
Good stuff here. Looks like a nice optic. Thanks for what you do brother!
Thank you sir!
Definitely the most effective way to boresight a firearm. This is how we boresight customers rifles.

I’m confident the Grendel is an excellent all around cartridge for the AR15 platform
Most definitely! I also like the 6.8 SPC.
@@brutalbob3982 another great round, I just find the .264 diameter bullets are more readily available and have a great selection for a reloader.
I just ordered one from psa for hallf price!!! Super excited to get it in!!!

It hit in the brown sticker on the target. Hard to see it in the camera
@@thegundungeon thanks big dawg..... By the way. I have mine mounted on a ruger all american go wild 300 winmag. Love the camo on it....
Yeah Vortex makes great products for sure. Thanks for sharing my man!
I love putting the caps back on.
Nice video dude, glad you recommended this optic for my Grendel. I love it!! Keep makin kick ass videos!!! Rock on!!!

Looks like those gold dots should be a deer dropping dosage of lead poisoning. I like the shooting mat too.

I got one too, with the same discount for my 16” 556. I’m excited to see how it performs for a Coyote/ranch/defense gun
Fantastic!

I’ve not had to use their warranty but from what I’ve read, it’s excellent

I have a killer bore sight kit ur welcome to anytime lol. Might save a couple rounds. Great stuff.
Saving rounds isn’t exactly what I do lol 😂
Thank you though lol
It’s awesome glass for the price
I wonder why it didn’t like the duramag
Could have just been a one off bad mag. I’ve had good look with them in the past using the 26 rounders
Is that on a 16 inch or 18 inch barrel?
16
500 so it’s second focal plane

BS…..Last shot was not even on paper…….look again🤦♂️
See the oblong hole in the brown sticker when I’m holding the target? That’s your last gold dot shot mixed with the last 100g steel case shot.
