    I have planted 6 foot tall plumera cuttings and it grew. Except the leafs will die. But new ones will come right up. There was a time I was obsessed with these

      Wow, that is a big cutting! I know exactly what you meant about plumeria obsession, I try to resist it, but sometimes you just gotta smell the flowers.

    growing my first with my wife this year. found one left outside by dumpster at her work failed to root. she brought it home and left it in a watering can with some water and asked me to root it.. by the time I got to it a few weeks later 😅 it had already rooted. planted it, in a small pot to get it used to soil, and just transplanted to its final home after a good month of growth. cant wait to see which colors it produces will be a total surprise for us and great way to get my wife back into gardening 💚🌱🌿

    Interesting video with good info. I "liked" it too, BTW. I just ordered 4 different "flavored" ones from a vendor off of Etsy a couple of days ago. He had good reviews and I think I got a good deal at around $30.00 for 4 8-12" cuttings. I have been dabbling with tropical plants in pots and outdoors for years now with the trial and error method, but with the aid of UA-cam videos like yours I don't need to read to find good, reliable info any more. I'm in the process of watching as many of these videos as I can so I can start them off as soon as they arrive. It's March 10 and we get an early spring here in SW Louisiana (Lake Charles). We enjoy a true subtropical climate here with only a few (I'd say around 5 or6) light freezes (28-32 degrees) per year, at which time I can scoot them inside a heated room adjacent to my patio. Great video and thanks for posting. 😊

      Flavored? I suppose flavored with perfumey goodness, which is nose flavor after all. hehe, I am so stoked you find the videos helpful. I love to garden, grow food, and just pretty plants like Plumeria. SO MANY TYPES and so much variety in the plant types. Keep commenting on the vids to let me know how I am doing. Also, hope to see you on upcoming LIVE streams, which I do most Sunday mornings, thanks Dale!

    If I were to put a tube around d a cutting would it force it to gain height sooner?

    • @EatYourBackyard
      @EatYourBackyard  2 роки тому

      I don't think so. Seems like the gain height fast without it. Check out my new music channel ua-cam.com/video/sN-SvfqsRHM/v-deo.html called Jedi Jingle Maker. I hope you will come join my live premiere tonight at 7PM, my first track on my new Viking Love Songs Album. I hear you say jam it in the ground so wind won't blow it over. Can I put 10 to 12 inches at the least in the ground on a 4 foot tall cutting?

    • @EatYourBackyard
      @EatYourBackyard  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, if it is not in strong winds it should be fine. The sand here is so loose, you can really push the cutting in deep, which I like to do with the SUPER BIG cuttings.

    How long can you leave the cut branch to dry before planting it?

    • @Cranky_Crone
      @Cranky_Crone Рік тому

      A week, apparently (but I imagine it depends a bit on conditions?)

    • @CREATEKDUB
      @CREATEKDUB Рік тому

      @CroneRage i read on google it can be anywhere between a week and a month like you said depending on weather conditions 👍

      Well, it could be many things, my go to solution for palms is to use fish waste, like super vitamins for the palm, might work. BTW, great job on your channel.

    Frangipani are cool plants didn't it survive in hurricane Irma in your yard!? I was shocked to still see it alive

    • @EatYourBackyard
      @EatYourBackyard  4 роки тому +2

      They snap very easily in high wind, but come back fast! One way to handle high winds you know are coming is to trim them way back before it starts, then you may avoid the snapping where you didn't want it.
