@@smartassrecords I don't know why the Quad Drum isn't bigger. It's the most versatile and feature packed module I've ever used.
@@dragonstuff1983 I agree it is a banging module , Vlad has a cool way to make these modules very user friendly too , I find his modules find their way into my live case quite fast .
@@dragonstuff1983 this and the BIA are superb for smaller sized percussion modules.
I've had a QD for probably two months now, and this makes it really _really_ obvious that I'm significantly under utilizing it. Time to go explore it again, I think.

i was instantly in love with this as soon as i saw it the first time. such a cleaver design and i 100% believe that you could do a full live set playing with a minimal case with just this module and some sequencers

there's an awesome demo from modularsquare unfortunately it's in french so that's not great for some.
The stereo width of the beep boop is phenomenal...
Absolutely ridiculous, right from the start (in the best way possible). This module has been on my want list since before I even knew about it.
I would love to pair this up with my Noise Engineering BIA and maybe get a Pamela Workout and Euclidian sequencer and have bass and drums covered. Pure techno bliss.

Added one of these to my system not too long ago. Its become more of a go to for IDM-y things than my Assimil8or, but then, sampling the QD into the Assim? :chef kiss:

Great stuff! Look out for the expander coming this autumn 2021 - two more outputs, so four in total (so per-voice outputs are possible :) ), four more CV inputs and some buttons ....

when i saw an image of this on modular grid I thought that they were trying too hard to look like 4MS modules. but nah, I was wrong, they've outdone 4ms, the slightly bigger everything looks way better.

Saving up for this and larger case. I have the Euclidian Circles sequencer which would be great for this. How does this drum module compare to the Endorphin.es drum modules like Queen of Pentacles and Black Noire? I have Queen of Pentacles which does more but is larger and costs $200 more but has filter and onboard FX.

Hey! Great tutorial. I just tried for the first time to put samples on the card, but it seems like it cant find them. dont know how to handle that. it all wave files and i erased some of the ones that came with it, because it said it will find just 32 banks,... so now i m a bit lost... do have an idea what i do wrong? Best
You didn't even show the wavetables :) Load the Plaits and Braids wavetable and bam, you have 4 at the time.
And the CV can be quantized so it sort of does 1v/oct. I love this module a lot!
Newb question about clocking here: Are you clocking from the Keystep Pro to the Varigate? But then how is Pams involved with this setup? Sorry, I'm new and have plenty of stupid questions.

Are you using the pico dsp or the black hole dsp? Just wondering as the pico has only a mono input but stereo out and black hole is stereo in and out. Love this video. Now I want one to pair with my varigate 8+.

Is loading samples on it a hassle? I read it was recommended to delete everything from the card then resave all of the folders every time you want to add something to prevent fragmenting.
Question, these samples that you demonstrate at 5:00 do they come included with the Quad Drum, or are they yours?

So how does it compare to the Rample? Months later what is your preferred drum voice combo? I have a BIA, Plaits and uPeaks at the moment in the percussion case. And technically, my Nerdseq now has quite a lot of drum sample playback.

Your clock problems come from your Arturia. Use Pam's. It's the most stable clock out there.
sorry to see that the arturia clock is unstable… just last week found that out because Pam’s is quite picky when you want to send it an external clock. The Keystep pro is not up to snuff

How would you compare to the drums from a disting ex, Jeremy?
4 trig inputs, 4 CV inputs, 2 outs. Feels a bit lame to be pushed into buying an external add-on module just for 2 output jacks. There's panel space.
hey Jeremy! I was convinced by your vid to get a QD but I am having some trouble getting samples to be recognized on the memory card once I put it back in the unit. Have any insight?

It actually works, you just need to turn of all other modulation. I use it as a synth also:)
