The exploration on the Euclidean Circles is great but … Wow!!!! The hidden gem is at the end. That piece of music is exactly what drove me to modular, the desire to combine those pieces of electronica that cannot be obtained with regular instruments in a melodic musical context. You are a great musician, not just a “synth guy”. I’m a fan.
are you playing a modular voice with the Linnstrument? what a great inspirational performance! the breakdown of the EC was super-informative and much easier to grasp than Vlads manual
amazing amazing demo as always. tomorrow im gonna get one....just cant wait to use it with the QD. Wladimir is just a genius. i really love his work and his easy to use modules!!!
Man, I wished Pam's Workout had a graphical representation like EC - you could do 8 channels with up to 32 steps of euclidean rhythms with it, but figuring out what it would sound like is a big PITA... great video, GAS triggered! :)
@CalvinSomething I have a 4ms QCD when I'm DAWless, but usually I use a signal from Reaktor through an ES-3 (audio-based clock will also change your life). If you want to get an EC, you could still totally clock it with a PNW - did that for a while. Euclideanly clock an Euclidean Circles via Pams? Why not! 🤔
Brilliant video! I watch it a while ago but didn't really get it, but now I do and I know I need this module. Thank you for making "understandable". Loved the "outro" track, too - wicked!
Awe such a cool intro to Circles. Well done!. This module is ace if you can put up with the bright lights unlike me. I'm getting a Qu-Bit Pulsar for this reason it but the Squarp Hermod can also do Euclidean. The Qu-Bit has a few other useful modes and you can set up polymetric stuff like I assume you can do here too. The implementation of Circles is really cool, they don't seem to have a dim mode though. You have a very nice rig and it seems like you know what you're doing unlike me haha
Thanks. Yeah, I actually don't think the lights are so bright, they are about the same brightness as most my other LEDs. It just has more of them :) Maybe that's an improvement on EC 1, is that what you had? Cheers
@@QuincasMoreira No I never had it but I can just tell the lights are gonna bother me. I'm kind of photo sensitive. I was really glad that Novation implemented a dim mode on the Circuit, because it's also a damn light shot. I just listened to your video again and it's definitely the best one I've seen on euclidean rhythms. Absolutely fantastic setup for your modular drum machine Would it be cool if i sampled bits of this video for some music? There's a lot of really cool beats here. Would fully credit of course if anything makes it to Soundcloud or the like
@@nebula0697 Sure, you can sample, but just so you know, I'm going to make available the complete stems in WAV files (minus the talking) to my Deluxe Patreons very soon! So maybe you can join for a month for 5 bucks, take the files and cancel ;) Cheers
I love modular sequencers- just ordered this one along with Mimetic Digitalis for smaller case to have fun sequencing of percussion and voice modules. Does this Euclidian sequencer have a clock and quantizer or do I need to patch a clock and quantizer to it? How would that work? I have a few percussion modules to experiment with.
Hi! Yes, it has internal clock and external clock input as well. it's just a trigger sequencer though, not a melodic one, a quantizer would not be useful here.
Dude... I bought a bunch of dollar store stereo 1/8” cords for patching. Ha ha ... ... saved like... a million $! Thought you might enjoy that. This module though! I mean... just for the way it looks, I Dig it!! Glad it triggers many things, sept Div Kid. 🤪😝🤷🏻♂️ Anyyywaaaay... I always enjoy your well made videos and relaxation inducing voice juxtaposed with the circles turning got me hypnotizedededed 👁🗨👁🗨👁🗨🐲 Thanks again for the video, I had been thinking about this very module and wanting to know just what the heck it does. Bye 👋
Synth Diy Guy Ok... last thing: Your performance up in this video was Piiiiiimp! Your Bass chops (really a bass player and not just a guy playing bass) are awesomeness. Your keys work... really great! The overall grove is a hit, in my head, man!! Overall... you’ve got some very mean abilities, my friend! Rest assured in the fact that you have another Musician/friend... who knows you are very talented, indeed! ! ! Bam! ✨🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶✨
hi kinkas, my brother. i always come back to this amazing tutorial. the best on youtube. i did somethnig and change the clock on my channel 2. while all my other clocks from 1,3,4,5,6 runs the same time, my chanel 2 is very slow no matter if i activate the internal clock or external my channel 2 runs not at the same time like the others .... i really dont know how i meesed it up, but i happened and i am not able to change it back. do you know why?? best regards
I'm just starting to save now for my first Euro wreck(rack lol) it will be based around the euclidean circles Does euclidean circles have a gate out or do you need a trigger to gate converter? (for sounding oscilators)
"If you call it polyrythms [sic] you will annoy DivKid greatly don't do that!". So why is DivKid annoyed by polyrhythms? Anyways, mine just came and great tutorial- it pairs well with my Metron and Eloquencer. I did find it way easier to use an external clock source from Pamela or Mordax Data. Fun trigger sequencer those lights can blind an entire galaxy!
Hey thanks! I've seen Div Kid explain at length why this is NOT polyrythm, but rather polymeter. It was a joke that he would be bothered by the misuse of the term, I'm sure he doesn't atually care :)
"...if you call it a 'polyrhythm' you will annoy DivKid greatly" lol, so true
Haha, made me laugh too. :)
SIC REGGAE DUBBY JAM AT THE END! AWESOME.

Just got mine today and racked it. Instantly fun!!!
vintage synth diy guy is awesome!!!!!
pre covid! LOL
That was a fun jam at the end, inspiring to see combining live instruments with modular!
Really nice rhythm patterns. Drummers have always been using different rhythmic patterns and divisions. Also, it’s a very attractive panel!
Oh that jam at the end is the shit. Very dreamy and with a dancehall beat. Nice upright bass playing, just awesome.
Wow you are super talented playing all those different instruments in time and sounding amazing plus jamming on the modular. Bravo!
Great jam at the end. You are multi-talented my friend! Love that string bass, you rock!!
Joel Jones thanks!
I ❤️ circles ⚪ Did you know that if you take the radius of any circle, you can make 6 even spaced points around the perimeter? Try it with a compass

I actually find that 6 voices and 16 steps are enough! Modular is complex enough as it is, so I like to simplify where possible :)
@@QuincasMoreira so true :)
I have both (as one does), and since I got EC, Pams doesn't get used for triggers anymore (now it's modulation). EC will change your life.

Rob Rogers “euclideanly clock Euclidean circles via Pam’s” Why I love modular.
Holy crap, that jam! Inspiring.
Rob Rogers thanks :)
Great video!
excellent video, and the final jam :)
Fantastic demo!!
Great stuff! Love the jam. And the fact you didn't use any drum modules :)
Great guide, thank you. What a musical module with loads of performance possibility! And a cool jam at the end, bravo 😎
What a surprise treat at the end!!
Awesome!
Phenomenal jam!
Michoo Palma thanks :)
Quincas, just amazing work and insight. Tyvm
My pleasure Mike, thanks for watching!

Much needed tutorial video. Well done. Thanks for this.
Great demo, thanks! I built this module DIY and have had lots of fun with it.
cool!
Great video and great jam at the end!
nice video. I love EC. it's just so intuitive.

This was great! Keep up the good work.
Good stuff man thanks for explaining this

Cool video :-) And your FM voice is fantastic!
Do you mean to say my voice is like that of an FM radio DJ? lol (jk)
Well cool my friend.

Hello, you say "teaser voice" about that fm sound at around 6:06 what brand is making that one?
Teezer, it's a thru zero VCO by Ian Fritz. You can get it at Synthcube
Can you quantize this and run it trough VCO for actual pitches and melodies?
trigger only, sir, no voltages

Can you explain me more how you made the kick here?
how would you add accents and dynamics to those patterns? cheers
boss demo. what percussion voices are you using?
Do you know if any modules/sequencers that help create actual poly-rhythm?
Clock multiplier + sequencer
Does the sequencer have a clock built in or do we have to feed it an external clock source?
it does have an internal clock

they are trigger outs and no CV, efinitely not for Oscillators, it's for drum voices!

can this module do multi steps per fill ?
sorry, I don't understand the question! Fill is the amount of active triggers within the length of the pattern
