  • Kill Movie Review - A new Indian film called Kill just hit theaters so I wanted to check it out. The trailers showcased a very violent, brutal action flick which sounds right up my ally. Almost the entirety of Kill takes place on a train for 2 hours. I had some problems with the movie but overall, the issues are saved by the wild action scenes. Not too bad!

I just saw this. It is true that there is barely a plot. The majority of the choices are beyond ridiculous and make little sense. The violence is so over the top that I annoyed my theatre crowd with all my laughing. I LOVED IT!!!

You would be shocked to know that this movie is loosely based on a true story where a gurkha soldier from Indian Army killed 3 dacoits and injured 8 when more than 20 get on the train.

So, to address the first plot hole. If you watch the movie carefully then you notice that they use a cell phone jammer so no one can contact the conductor and the entrance to the main bogey is locked. As for the second, I agree with you there. The passengers could have just run off when the train stopped. It's also silly to see the bandits emotionally overwhelmed when a closed one dies. Maybe a flash of grief would have been far more realistic.
Still, the action scenes are really well done. The choreography is fantastic. Even the movement of the train (this was a film set) is captured really well. I am fine with the wafer thin plot as the kills are delivered in spades.

I have a different view on you comment at 5:40 pls read it.
This movie has an emotional angle that sets it apart from typical action films. The bandits are not random villains; they are from the same family group, with many of them being cousins. This familial connection adds depth to their actions and emotions. When they saw their brother hanging, their reactions were genuine-they cried and were terrified. This is not like a typical John Wick scenario where the hero is just smashing random goons. There is a substantial background story that provides context to their actions.
The bandits' primary intention was to loot the passengers as they usually do. However, this time they discovered a rich passenger on the train, which they saw as a jackpot. They planned to kidnap him for a higher ransom, not to kill anyone. It was the circumstances that escalated the situation beyond their control.
In my view, this movie deserves appreciation for its layered storytelling and the realistic portrayal of its characters' motivations and emotions.

I think you miss the cultural nuances. Those bandits were real life inspirations from border town slums of Delhi. In daylight they are blue collar workers but at night they hunt on highways or trains in large numbers. This is kinda family affair where women of family are also part of crime logistics.
They are real people with emotions not NPC bad guys.
As Indian family group, seniority gives

100% makes sense ,I think he didn't watched it properly as decoit hacked al cell phones of passanger in the beginning so they couldn't contact loco pilot and about passenger remember whole incident happened in one hour duration as they have already prepared to leave the the train in one hour ! And you can clearly see one of passenger try to jump from train ,meanwhile 2 of decoit jumped and there's blood squashed over the passenger who tried to attempted jump !!! So bro watch movie properly then review!!

    • @AdamDoesMovies

      THE TRAIN STOPS MULTIPLE TIMES!!!
They have a door that's wide open, several cars away from the bad guys. At one point, more bad guys board the train. At another point, police officers board the train. At either of these spots, the passengers could have gotten off through the open door where they hung the dude. I don't even care that much about it. Overall I enjoyed the film but to pretend like this is a buttoned up film with no plot holes is insane. The main hero gets like 30 blows to the head and manages to keep fighting. That alone is silly and completely unbelievable. I'm fine with all of that but it can still be pointed out, right?

0:57 Dance numbers and music videos are there in many movies but not all. Its nothing new. Indian cinema makes movies of all kind of genres. There are hundreds of movies without the big elaborate sets or over the top action or dance numbers as such. Depends on the kind of movie you are watching. I guess since what crosses over to the US are mostly those extravagant big budget (by indian standards) movies that has created such a perception. Even back in the 50s if you look at filmmakers like Satyajit Ray who later inspired filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Wes anderson etc used to make realist films. Not just ray there are dozens of such Indian filmmakers be it ritwik ghatak, or the filmmakers from the Indian parallel cinema movement of the 1970s-90s.
