Find anything that turns and shut it off. If you go away for a weekend you should Always shut your entire house valve off as well. Lived and learned, lol
I hope you get it resolved. A house I lived in with my grandparents, it had flooding issues, due to being near the bottom of a hill, & the backyard wasn’t sloped properly. The fix was major, & costly. We were going to sell anyway, so we just sold it as is. Not worth the effort to repair it ourselves.
