I was complaining to my youngest about putting weight on after my recovery ❤️🩹 from a severe Lupus outbreak and she said that I should stop because I finally look healthier, so our children are a much more forgiving about our aging than we are ❣️❣️
I’m still dealing with the changes to my body from treatment for breast cancer. My hair texture is different. My skin is very sensitive and dry. I have patches of discoloration on my face which I didn’t have before. That doesn’t account for the long list of other changes and hormone replacement therapy for 5 years which sent me into early menopause. It’s so hard but I am now cancer free and I am alive. I am glad the Princess of Wales is doing so much better and feel confident she will continue to improve and I am confident be better than ever and she was already amazing.
Thank you River for so eloquently standing up for "aging" and especially for people who are under treatment for cancer and survivors of cancer. As a 70 yr old cancer survivor, I think Princess Catherine is a beautiful woman, and how wonderful that her treatment is being successful. Thank you for an entertaining and informative video.
Our Catherine has GRACE. Her bones are beautiful. She moves with dignity and self possession. To complain about her AGING!! 😡 She will be an ethereal beauty when she is 90!!!
She is so gracious we would love her no matter how she looks. It's unkind for people to expect so much from her, the stress of being in the spotlight open to criticism must be tremendous. We are lucky Prince William chose her as his wife, it could have been a disaster with the wrong woman. He made sure he chose someone suitable for the life he was destined to lead.
I disagree. I have stage four cancer in weekly chemo for the last three years. I lost weight and look quite fine and much better with the excess weight I carried before thank you. May be I have a strong constitution and am notnot aging . Everybody is different I wish I could show a picture of me !
The Princess has great natural beauty inside and out!!! She does need any artifice to shine!!! Her illness was cruel!!! She has only come through it more stunning and truly Royal!!!
Stress and fear of the unknown will do that even aside from the effects of the treatment. Catherine looks fantastic. I would hate to see her turn into one of those generic plastic looking “celeb” types
I recall the beautiful words to an Alan Jackson song ... "I don't mind all the lines from all the times I've laughed and cried, souvenirs and little signs of the life I've lived". Amazing words to age by.
I had to take accutane just for cystic acne for 8 months over a decade ago. My hair, skin, and immune system has never fully recovered from it. It took me years to find out it was originally a chemotherapy drug. Wish I’d know that beforehand. At least it got rid of the cystic acne, but damn, a pretty steep price to pay for it (and I’m pretty sure a more keto diet would have probably fixed it to begin with). Can’t imagine how rough it must be to recover from actual chemotherapy. That being said, Catherine looks great, she just looks natural, I really appreciate that about her. Wrinkles are a blessing of continued life.
One thing I’ve noticed about the upper classes is that they buy quality and keep it; so sofas get shabby and squashy, carpets and rugs get threadbare It’s only the middle classes that constantly replace things - so everything looks spanking new and soulless.
In a world full of beige you are a Ruby... bringing light and sparkle to all those around you… not to mention a little mischief too! I’m so happy you’re back.❤
Aging is a privilege. The lovely and beautiful Princess of Wales is doing so gracefully and with aplomb. I find that lines and wrinkles give our faces character and tell our story. Grey hairs are wisdom highlights. Getting older is a beautiful thing. It means we survived and that which tried to kill us failed.
@LaMamaBee I totally agree. Between breast cancer and sepsis, I almost died in June. I am so blessed to be doing fantastic now! It has certainly aged me and I will take every wrinkle, every silver hair, and wear them proudly!
That is a fantastic picture of King Charles by Millie Pilkington. The King must have been very comfortable with her because it really captures his being.
Christchurch New Zealand here. Your painting is glorious. It amazes me how the old artists were so amazingingly talented at achieving light in the most subtle ways. The flower petals are illuminated to perfection.
I’m so very grateful I’ve not had to age in the public eye, or endure significant health issues. People are so incredibly unkind. I do love your defense of those of us in our Fall season of life. It’s not easy to try and age gracefully especially in a world that constantly insists we shouldn’t.
Couldn’t agree more regarding aging. Katherine looks gorgeous and elegant, IMO. I can’t stand the glut of Botox anround. Everyone starts to look the same.
Age is a privilege. Aging gracefully is the highest form of class. Authenticity at its finest. Catherine has grace, beauty and authenticity. Welcome back River, you are also a graceful, authentic soul. Everything is right with the world now that you are back!❤
How did we love QEII? Beloved mother, grandmother OF THE UK!❤ As we would love to have that long and wonderful relationship with dearly cherished Catherine POW❤🎉🎉🎉
Catherine is a beauty. Her lines are also a result of years of laughter, smiling… happiness in her life which is something to cherish. My mom wasn’t a smiley, laugh out loud individual. She wld almost chide me when I made wonky faces to my kiddies saying my face wld wrinkle too fast but I chose to live in moments and laugh & be silly w/ my kids. Catherine is in her own lane. You can’t compare royalty to Hollyweird.
Zi think Millie Pilkerton was Catherine’s personal photographer at her wedding in 2011. What an honour for her to make it all the way to take the photographs of the monarch.
River, River, River. I am in tears. My son Justin and his dog Macy moved out this weekend. He has just left my house to go to his. Tears of joy for him and sadness and quiet here. I turned on the tv and here you are. I’m glad you are back and love your salon. Thank you
We live in Queensland, Australia. We have timber floors, no carpet at all and I love it. The floors are scratched and a bit damaged in spots from wear and tear but I don't want to have them re-done because it'll mean worrying about marks. So they'll stay as they are 😊
Same! I live in Caoe Town and have a small Victorian home. My wooden floors must have had beetle in them 100 yrs ago, so those trails remain and I also had a thought about redoing them, but have decided to leave them as is. Adds great character ( and the cost is prohibitive )!
My daughter has been through gruelling chemo etc etc etc , and it has aged her physically , but the most important thing is we have LIFE ! So happy that the beautiful Princess is in remission . ❤
Love your new digs! King Charles is unbelievably well dressed, tailored, and groomed. His humor, intelligence, and humanity shows in his carriage and face. We love him in the states. And really wish more men would care about their presentation and style. He is to be admired for so many things. "Casual elegance"🎉.
I've been through chemo and radiation and cancer surgery. It takes a toll on your skin, hair, and nails, especially. But your body does recover. The Princess of Wales is aging beautifully.
The princess! Is stunning, as always❤, All of the royals age gracefully! They even keep old faithful clothes, it gives them character! In 100 years, when they look upon the painting of Queen Cathrine! Their Hearts will skip a beat, at her beautie⚘️! She has all the hallmark of a Queen!💯
Post cancer often means several years of altered metabolism. The body does right itself in time. Trusting your body and how it works is a changing process. I was at times horrified or bewildered. Two steps forward, one step back, is still one step forward. You do regain strength, your mind, and your health. The body is amazing. Best of luck to our beloved Catherine, Princess of Wales.
Princess Catherine is a natural beauty and I hope she always remains so. Preventing lines with botox seems to make a face look fixed and unnatural. It can be disturbing on a basic level as we read emotions and expressions when we engage with people and if we can't read a face it can appear false like a mask hiding true feelings.
Love King Charles III, the books, the kilt.... 😍🥰❤ Love Princess Catherine the Beautiful.... Love the Royal Family!! and River...love you too!! Thank you for making our lives so much more carefree with your humor and love of the artistic. Can't wait to see the beautiful chairs that will be arriving. Have a great week. Lots of Love to you ❤❤❤
I envy River his coming antique chair with the original Lyon silk. My sort of furniture taste, but hard to find original antiques of that age here in Australia (or in my price range) not too fond of reproduction pieces, they never look quite right. I know! I am just a picky old lady!😢🫢😉🇦🇺
I would have looked at that paining and thought "ah, a vase of flowers" nothing muchit more. River brought out the real beauty of the work in a way I'd never have seen in it. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Philistine when it comes to art, the old "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like"😁
Wow!!! Frosty, what’s it like to be so perfect for you to comment on another woman’s wrinkles?!?! PC is a naturally beautiful woman wrinkles and all!! She has a wonderful husband who clearly loves her, wrinkles and all!! Even after all she’s been through this past year she continues to carry herself with grace and dignity and not hiding herself away until her body has had enough time to fully recover! She also doesn’t need to change EVERY aspect of her body, hair , teeth, skin tone, etc. to impress anyone as she has already been with her Prince Charming for many years ❤❤❤
Here’s hoping Frosty never has to know the pain, fear, and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis. It is a shock to your psyche that makes you feel off kilter. Add to that the myriad doctors and specialists appointments, making sense of what the best course of action, what treatments or surgery or chemo or radiation or combination of all of them. Your cells are tortured and you have to keep your mental health on a positive keel. Top it off if you have to work or have a family. Finding normalcy in every day life is a struggle so you don’t feel like you’ve become your cancer diagnosis. Vanity and modesty goes out the window. Some days you can barely rouse yourself from your bed to go for a treatment or an appointment. Yes, we hope Frosty never has to suffer through cancer. She’d probably have more empathy for people who have gone through it.
River, long-time basketeer here - thank you for the focus on Burns today. May I invite you to read a beautiful poem from Burns called A lament for Glencairn. The middle sections of the poem have the most moving, extended metaphor of an old man, likened to an oak tee that has withstood many storms, but soon must fall. The lines where the speaker reflects on being alone on earth break my heart anew each time I read them- “I bear alone my load of care, while silent, low, in beds of dust lie those who would my sorrows share”. I’m sure you’ll appreciate it, River. Thanks again for highlighting Burns night for us.
I love everything about The Kings latest photo. Perfection & The King looked wonderful when he was attending Church , it was good to see him looking so well. ♥️🙏🏼🇬🇧
There is a quote, that I roughly butcher in that there are three seasons of a woman’s life, the young woman or bride, the mother and finally the matriarch. All three phases have their own elegance and power in their own way.

If you can look good, for whatever age you are, then that's great. Catherine is absolutely lovely by any measure. Mostly because she's a wonderful person, inspirational. Besides, if you're relying on outward beauty for validation, you're chasing a fool's errand and it will only lead to an unhappy life. If we are fortunate enough to get old, you will get old.
Ah River, thank you for your fun updates with King Cozysocks. I just love him and his new Tartan, it’s very attractive and suits him quite well I think. Your painting is beautiful as it is. The delicate highlights really bring it to life. I think Catherine is fine as she is. It’s cruel for one. For two, what the hell is she talking about with the bangs covering some problem with Catherine’s face? She has Cancer! Any concern I have, and curiosity, is how she’s doing and what treatments worked best.
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is a perfect mix of beauty and strength. She moves with effortless grace and carries herself with quiet confidence. Her resilience in tough moments, paired with her understated charm, makes her the picture of elegance and poise in today’s world.❤❤
What I love about your channel, River, is your sharing with your audience your life, your thoughts (not only of the BRF but also about history, lifestyle etc). It makes us truly a part of your life. I enjoys your rants just as much as your raves. I, too, believe that true beauty is anchored on one’s life view. Aging naturally, graciously and gracefully is so much better than “fixing” the face with chemicals and surgical procedures. Think Elizabeth Taylor, etc. Once a stunning beauty relegated to being a caricature of herself because she couldn’t accept aging.
River I have to steal that line! More wrinkles than on the foreskin of a shar-pei 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 On a serious note, you are absolutely right Princess Catherine is aging naturally, gracefully and beautifully. She needs no treatment on her beautiful face.
We as women have earned each of our wrinkles. Some people aren't lucky enough to live long enough to see wrinkles! It's part of life. Living in S. California I see many women with Botox, puffed up lips and pulled up cheeks and to me it's a very scary look.
Dear River, so so happy to be enjoying your company again. While I would love a River Keepsake, I know I can't have one since I am in Australia, so just having you back is enough for me. Hugs.
Oh what a beautiful way to the end of your broadcast,. You made the painting come alive, with the vibration of their colors, and the sound of your voice, during your reading of the poem , perfect ending for all to enjoy. Thank you, River.
The snapshot of the king in his library wearing his new tartan and woolen jacket and waistcoat is smashing. Beautiful tailoring. Elegant and cozy at the same time.
River, I enjoy your take on aging. May I add that the treatment for Cancer causes wrinkles too. My Mom's face aged a lot after her cancer treatment. I was happy to see my Mom live long enough to age, she lived 9 years after her Cancer diagnosis. Princess Catherine is elegant and beautiful and her lines do not diminish her beauty. It makes me happy to see Catherine out and about.
River, there has been a deep and profound change about you. I have always enjoyed you, your humour and that razor sharp wit you have. I’m 77 and am glad to be here and love LIVING !!!
❤ ❤❤
Congratulations Tiffany. I will pray for your continued good health.
🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
thank God ❤️ 🙏
Love the portrait of the King. Catherine is a natural beauty
She will be an ethereal beauty when she is 90!!!
Catherine is alive and in remission. That’s all the matters. Looks fade. Her radiant energy shines through.❤
43 and 3 children and the entire world watching your every stage. Catherine is beautiful inside and out.❤
She is so gracious we would love her no matter how she looks. It's unkind for people to expect so much from her, the stress of being in the spotlight open to criticism must be tremendous. We are lucky Prince William chose her as his wife, it could have been a disaster with the wrong woman. He made sure he chose someone suitable for the life he was destined to lead.
River ,
Loved your response to Princess Catherine wrinkles.
❤❤❤ The audacity!!! 🙄
Probably Megnut😊
Here here!
Illness ages you. Cancer treatment is brutal. Princess Catherine may not have lost her hair, but it really does a number on you.
I can vouch for this - cancer treatments can be tough at the time of treatment and even years after from effects.
@@readg4funPrincss Katherine is beautiful.
Stress and fear of the unknown will do that even aside from the effects of the treatment. Catherine looks fantastic. I would hate to see her turn into one of those generic plastic looking “celeb” types
It never pays to be vain in my own experience. Catherine is beautiful and she will be beautiful when she is in her winter season.
One thing I’ve noticed about the upper classes is that they buy quality and keep it; so sofas get shabby and squashy, carpets and rugs get threadbare
It’s only the middle classes that constantly replace things - so everything looks spanking new and soulless.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize spending more on quality and to keep things for a long time is much preferred!
@@alison5009👍👌🇦🇺👋
In a world full of beige you are a Ruby... bringing light and sparkle to all those around you… not to mention a little mischief too! I’m so happy you’re back.❤
So well said!
I agree!
I really liked this photo-colors, setup, all so nice!
There is an elegant grace about aging naturally. Just remember how beautiful the late Queen was and she was a perfect portrait of graceful aging.
Catherine looks fantastic in my book. Dignity and class…. People need to get a life and live it instead of picking on Catherine.
Christchurch New Zealand here. Your painting is glorious. It amazes me how the old artists were so amazingingly talented at achieving light in the most subtle ways. The flower petals are illuminated to perfection.
Catherine is beautiful
I’m so very grateful I’ve not had to age in the public eye, or endure significant health issues. People are so incredibly unkind.
I do love your defense of those of us in our Fall season of life. It’s not easy to try and age gracefully especially in a world that constantly insists we shouldn’t.
Couldn’t agree more regarding aging. Katherine looks gorgeous and elegant, IMO. I can’t stand the glut of Botox anround. Everyone starts to look the same.
Hamster cheeks and a pair of lips that make you look like a duck 😅
Yes. The puffy lips and thin cheeks and frozen eybrows... yuck
Catherine with a C!!!!
C atherine. Not K.
That frozen looking face is so unattractive to me. Do it if you want, I think it’s awful looking.
Age is a privilege. Aging gracefully is the highest form of class. Authenticity at its finest. Catherine has grace, beauty and authenticity. Welcome back River, you are also a graceful, authentic soul. Everything is right with the world now that you are back!❤
Love the photo of the King, and am always a fan of tartan. The Princess looks fantastic especially after her cancer treatment. Amazing.
Great look darling River!
So happy to see you back on air. You’ve been missed!!!❤🫶🇺🇸🏴🇬🇧
Ýes u have been missed
🇨🇦
River, River, River. I am in tears. My son Justin and his dog Macy moved out this weekend. He has just left my house to go to his. Tears of joy for him and sadness and quiet here. I turned on the tv and here you are. I’m glad you are back and love your salon. Thank you
💜💜💜
Brave woman, Catherine! We love you! 💓🇨🇦
Princess Catherine is a natural beauty. She is the epitome of elegance and grace.
You seem to be having a wonderful time putting your gorgeous home together, River. I love your taste.
Princess Anne looks fabulous at 75, and still working hard as ever. Love her recycled clothes!👍🇦🇺👌
Yes, and the alarming forehead vein from botox overuse.
Lots of Love to you ❤❤❤
Second all of this; well said, hear, hear! Love to you River from a cold, remote cattle ranch in western Canada 🇨🇦.
What a BEAUTIFUL photo of King Charles ❤
I think it's the best one yet, he looks marvellous!
The painting is beautiful. Imagine being able to paint flowers and fruit that look real. Gorgeous arrangement.
I would have looked at that paining and thought "ah, a vase of flowers" nothing muchit more. River brought out the real beauty of the work in a way I'd never have seen in it. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Philistine when it comes to art, the old "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like"😁
So good to see you, River. Wonderful broadcast, particularly your reading of Burns. Thank you, my dear. ❤
She is so classy and beautiful!!
Thank you for taking up for her!!
She also doesn’t need to change EVERY aspect of her body, hair , teeth, skin tone, etc. to impress anyone as she has already been with her Prince Charming for many years ❤❤❤
Most likely one of Meghan's vile Squaddies or Meghan herself 🙄
I loved King Charles photo, he looks so elegant!
The portrait/photo of the King is lovely.
So refreshing to see you again River, I have missed you💞
Here’s hoping Frosty never has to know the pain, fear, and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis.
How beautiful ❤
Ronnie, that poem sounds just up my street. I shall Google it later.
Princess Catherine face does not need Bangs to hide her face….or a plastic surgeon. What a rude comment. Thank you River for handling it so well.
I don't think Princess Catherine is worried about a few wrinkles compared to chemotherapy. She's lovely
I love everything about The Kings latest photo. Perfection & The King looked wonderful when he was attending Church , it was good to see him looking so well. ♥️🙏🏼🇬🇧
It could be because Catherine lost weight and is just putting it back on.❤
The Burns poem you read so sweetly as moving music played amongst the painted flowers was lovely. 🥲
There is a quote, that I roughly butcher in that there are three seasons of a woman’s life, the young woman or bride, the mother and finally the matriarch. All three phases have their own elegance and power in their own way.
& then the magical, ancient crone!
Welcome back. Your commentary was missed, especially given the recent flood of Sussex nonsense. Congratulations on your new home. Good luck with the repairs and decoration. They will surely display your exceptional good taste. Thank you for sharing it all with us. I have a solution for 'aging faces' - using my vast experience! Never wear your glasses when admiring your reflection. Works every time. Penny
Hi River , my brave daughter got smote by aggressive lengthy cancer treatment age 40 and lost all her 40s looks and immediately became 55 when the ravages stopped .. she is so beautiful ❤ but her face tell her story
Wishing your daughter congratulations for surfing her battle and all of the very best to her. X
Thank you for sharing i hope you're daughter is doing well❤
If Catherine chooses to be on Vogues cover, I do hope she chooses to wear the Gold Gown. I can’t get enough of seeing her in that number.
@@renpixie same with me although if I’m seriously honest, I would prefer to have the dress ha ha ha ha ha ha
@@IndigoCreedI love that dress too, but am too old, short and tubby to do it justice. Catherine looks like a Greek goddess when she wears it. In fact I love all her Jenny Packham choices, the fluffy tulle green off- the- shoulder one from the Caribbean tour is another favourite of mine.👍👌🇦🇺
So good to see the king greeting people! I love the kings picture! 🇬🇧
I snorted out loud when he said that, it’s hilarious 😂👋🇨🇦🇨🇦
Your salon looks lovely yes take your time enjoy Our king is looking dashing great to see you ❤
I love the paint color. I’ve seen a stained glass fire place screen in front of an artificial fire before. That was quite lovely.
We as women have earned each of our wrinkles. Some people aren't lucky enough to live long enough to see wrinkles! It's part of life. Living in S. California I see many women with Botox, puffed up lips and pulled up cheeks and to me it's a very scary look.
Yes, did you see Lauren Sanchez at the inauguration?? She looked like a blow up doll! Especially that white bra
Thank you, or I would have missed that lovely poem.

Yes, i really was taken aback by it…just amazing..magical, really. Many thanks, River!
The snapshot of the king in his library wearing his new tartan and woolen jacket and waistcoat is smashing. Beautiful tailoring. Elegant and cozy at the same time.
King Cosy-socks. My favourite description of King Charles, thanks River👌😉🇦🇺
Yes! Really very elegant - such beautiful colours!
HMTK’s new picture is wonderful! He has such a resemblance to his beloved mother.
River thank you for pointing out that there is nothing wrong with ageing naturally. You are a gem.😊
Now, i think, there is a sense of the caring, concerned and involved, in things that really matter. Your audience adores you, as do i! Thank you for opening your home, giving us time to visit with you. Karen
Catherine is absolutely beautiful and will be at every stage of life. And her soul is beautiful
Thank you River! There is no problem with Princess Catherine! An amazing beautiful woman!
That is a Beautiful Tartan pattern. I love so many of them. Munro clan, here. I love our tartan pattern. It is WONDERFUL to have you back, River. Wonderful, Indeed.
Princess Catherine is beautiful inside and out. Chemotherapy takes its toll and it makes me angry with those who would disparage her.
