    TIME STAMPS
    0:00 Assembly of first reusable fitting to one end of hydraulic hose.
    3:30 Measuring and marking the hydraulic hose to achieve accurate assembled length. In this video the target assembled overall length was 800mm.
    Hydraulic Hose assemblies are made to length using two methods.
    Method "A" "Hose Cut Length" this method is easier for longer hose assemblies, but for short critical hose assemblies it relies on you being able to calculate the length of each fitting after assembly and adding that to hose cut length. This method can be a bit messy and inaccurate.
    "Critical Short Lengths" means that the completed hydraulic hose assembly must not be too short but it also must not be too long. In this case, it is best to use method "B".
    Method "B" uses the finished "Overall Assembled Length" method, this is a simpler and more accurate method. The video shows Minos explaining what to do, after assembling one reusable fitting on one end of the hose the desired finished length is simply worked out using a tape measure and the remaining unassembled reusable fitting.
    Method "B" produces more accurate and repeatable results.
    4:46 Cutting hose with an angle grinder and cleaning out with compressed air.
    6:29 Assembly of second reusable fitting to the other end of the hose and checking final assembled length is 800mm.
    10:14 Pressure Testing the Hose assembly at 4,000 psi with a 10,000 psi Air Over Hydraulic Pump.
    12:35 Where to order the hose and fittings you will need.
    Tools You will need:
    *Length of Hose SAE 100R2AT-08 (hose length to be determined by sample hose to be replaced or distance between the two points the hose needs to be connected to, please allow extra hose for any movement if connecting to cylinders that actuate or move arms or linkages)
    *Two reusable 2 wire bodies and two reusable Hose tails (3/4 inch JIC Female used in this video) (one set for each end)
    *Two wrenches (spanners) to suit size of hex on body and nut on tail (wrenches should be correctly sized to fit snugly over the steel Body and Nut on the Hose Tail. Spanners are preferable over the use of an adjustable wrench or shifting spanner because they are safer as there is less chance of slips that can cause bruised or grazed knuckles)
    *4 or 5 inch Angle grinder (with 1 mm steel cutting disc)
    *Bench vice (with Aluminium soft jaws)
    *Measuring tape (metric used in this example)
    *White marking chalk or crayon or ink pen
    *Safety glasses/goggles
    *Air compressor with air hose and air blow gun
    *Clean grease
    *Oil resistant nitrile gloves (cut resistant gloves used in this example)
    *Replacement or "Top-up" Hydraulic oil.
    Pressure testing items used in this video included:
    Air over hydraulic high-pressure pump (10,000 psi / 680 bar)
    A liquid filled pressure gauge 0 to 8000 psi (540 bar), test hose and adapters.

    Ive bought (from you guys) and had great success for about 30 of these at 3/8".....but the last ones I bought 1/2" have leaked between the fitting and hose,on one hose only ,out of three (also a pin hole spray out of hose when dead headed,reliefs at 2000psi)....I redid the fitting and again leaks between fitting and hose (is the delivery hose from pump.....I know I'm not doing it wrong,could a faulty hose cause this,don't know what else to try....love your online shop,keep it going.

      Please make sure that you are using "new" SAE 100 R2 Specification hose with 2 wire bodies,
      and new SAE 100R1 Specification hose with a 1 wire body.
      A "2 wire body" will have two thin rings or grooves machined onto the neck and a "1 wire body" will have one ring or groove machined into its neck.
      Also we do not recommend that you use Old or used hose to make assemblies as the rubber may have perised with age, temperature, and prolonged contact with oil.
      You should have been given the opportunity to download assembly Instructions when you placed your order.
      Please let us know if you continue to have issues.

    Just curious but under say 200bar from a pressure washer. Won't the end burst off at some point? Aren't swaging machines meant for this type of thing?

    • @Hydraulic.Online
      @Hydraulic.Online  2 роки тому +2

      The important thing to remember is that you use the hose fittings that are correctly matched to the hose, wether you use reusable fittings or swaging machines you have to make sure you are using matched sets. 200 bar (3000 psi) is fine for reusables as long as the hose is designed for that pressure and is still in good condition. The added flexibility with most swaging machines is that you can alter the crimp diameter to suit a range of different hose designs.

    i have a leak in my hydraulic line under the car line is about 1/2" diameter on the outside the pressure is very high and it's hot would you use fiberglass resin and sheet? ?

    • @Hydraulic.Online
      @Hydraulic.Online  2 роки тому

      Hello Christopher, Tell me more about the hydraulic line please, is it made from steel like a pipe or is it made from rubber like a hose. In either case fiberglass resin and sheet will more than likely not work. It sounds to me like it may be from your power steering system or possibly even part of a hydraulic suspension system. Both of these systems work at pressures from 1000 psi for power steering and up to 2000 PSI for hydraulic suspension.
      If it is a metal pipe you may be able to have a joiner put in it, if it is a hose then the hose will have to be replaced.
      Hope this helps.

      You can dismantle some crimp on fittings by carefully cutting off the shell, but you will need to recrimp a new shell onto the tail (if the tail is not damaged)

    Is this to fix temporarily on field?

    • @Hydraulic.Online
      @Hydraulic.Online  Рік тому

      Yonimile you can use these fittings to make temporary repairs in the field to keep you going until such time you can replace the old hose with a new one. It also depends on the condition of the hose as well because if the hose is still in good condition you can leave it on permanently. Many people purchase a few of these fittings and a length of hose from us so that they can make their own hoses without needing a hydraulic hose crimper. Please also note that in Australia these fittings are not allowed to be used on mine sites.

    Hello I wanted a tip before making my order in your site, I have plans to manufacture a mini excavator with a maximum pressure of 200 bar. my cylinders have a piston diameter of 70 and two others of 80 in diameter. I have a double pump 16 + 11 cc 1500 turn, so I wanted to buy double braided hose and I do not know which to choose. thank you for your attention

      Hi Victor,
      Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. For the 11cc pump at that speed you'll be getting 16.5Lpm/4.2~Gpm and either 3/8" or 1/2" two wire hose will suit the application, for the 16cc pump you'll be getting 24Lpm/6Gpm for which 1/2" two wire will suit the application. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
      Cheers,
