I don’t have any respect for anyone who intimidates or tries to intimidate their own people or anyone else for that matter.

I get it, J Prince built his empire on a foundation of "streed cred", hence "Mob ties"
Carlo Gambino was the boss of the Gambino crime family when he died, peacefully at home in his bed at age 74. Nobody is gonna say that Carlo Gambino was too old to be involved in crime.
That said, Carlo didn't go around publicly flaunting his position, even though he knew that the feds already knew, he continued to pretend to be a law abiding citizen and he didn't feel a need to publicly make statements about how powerful or tough he is or that he was mobbed up. That's the difference.

Gambino was a boss, not on the street level. Most crime bosses are older guys, but they aren’t on the streets they just control the streets. There are old dudes who still act like thugs on a street level, which is what’s weird
