Well there is a thing called Google. And I wouldn't mind getting there is a Wikipedia page on this insect. Tbh I haven't found much that isn't on Wikipedia!
@@madasahatter5514 I think he knows he can find stuff on Wikipedia, yet his comment makes sense - video would be better if they had added this bit of info that they already had, having filmed their whole cycle.
It varies a great deal depending primarily upon temperature. This video was looking at Trialeuroides, but there are hundreds of species in North America and dozens of agricultural/garden pest whiteflies, each with similar life cycles but different times of development.
@@dgpatton My experience is to buy a mosquito catcher - the one using ultra violet light & suction fan . I've got mine from Ace Hardware and use them accordingly. Don't buy cheapo ones as the bulbs might not be producing actual UV light and they do need replacement every 6 mth or so as the amount of UV will reducing all the time. I switched them on everynight for say 12 hrs and happy to report i haven't seen much of them white flies now.
@@dgpatton Hi, have you tried any "Spinosad" based product ? I had a major problem with fungus-gnats, never suspected them for such a highly destructive potential. Anyway(😅..), a single application of a spinosad insecticide was enough, also kept the plants "toxic" for some time as there were "drunk" gnats around the pots for the following weeks. Later this year, i had a Thrips infestation on my orchids - same results again 😎 Now, even though i hadn't had any real problem with Whiteflies - yet theres always a few here and there, it seemed that they were also affected. And lastly - i have a root/soil predatory mite(s) "hypoaspis miles" or a similar sp. And they seemed unharmed by the substance 👍
Found the little buggers destroying my Poinsettia. Oddly enough, my Pachira Aquatica (Money tree) was totally clean. Guess they have preferences on what to eat. Hopefully the pesticide and sticky traps do the job.
So is does the whitefly go through complete or incomplete metamorphosis? I thought was a true bug so it should just have a nymph and adult stage. But it seems to have a pupal stage
I threw my hands up and have gone scorched earth on this scourge from God and killed off all my plants. Whats driving me nuts is finding out how long the eggs and adults can live once the plants are gone and thanks to crap search engine results im still looking.
Forget evolution... these creatures could only be created by a God like power. I wonder if God just decided to create a white fly or if it came into existence from other God made creatures cross mating.
wondered........................."'master piece of work'" but hurted by seeing views even dirty video uncontent videos goes viral....why cant you koppert......????????????????????
Incredible video work, who ever recorded this is a MASTER.,
When that adult emerges all I can think of is the scene from Starship Troopers where the guy gets his brain sucked out...😱😱😱😱
This is amazing video. I have finally discovered what the little things I keep finding on leaves are so thanks.
Really I appreciate the effort to make this vedio , well done 👏.
Would have liked to have known the amount of time it takes for each stage as well as the combined amount of time

These things multiply like rabbits (or white flies - in this context they're interchangeable)!
They are creatures from the depths of hell. I don’t know how to win against them since they infested multiple yards in the neighborhood.
Now I know how they're destroying my plants 😂😂😂

I have had success dwindling thier numbers by heavy pruning and daily spraying with neem oil on the underleaf of my guavas
@@dgpatton yellow sticky traps .. i finally killed them with these

Yes, as it doesn't seem to have any 'useful' purpose other than torment!😲
So in stage one it goes from being born mobile to becoming immobile? Weird. I'm sure it made sense to evolution though. 🙂
destroyed our coconut tree
these called bimicia tabaci
no they are the greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum.
Scary😧😦😮
Super
They are the worst nature enemy's alongside ants, and mealybugs!
