  • Stir Fry Jicama (also known as Jiu Hu Char), is one of the popular Nyonya dishes from the northern part of Malaysia. This dish mainly consists of shredded cuttlefish, jicama (sengkuang), carrots and mushrooms. You can eat this with rice or wrap with fresh lettuce leaves and chilli sauce. Another great dish for CNY family dinner!
    🍴 Ingredients
    ==Prepare sauce==
    Oyster sauce蚝油 - 1 tbsp
    Dark soy sauce 老抽 - ½ tbsp
    Soy sauce 生抽 - 1 ½ tbsp
    Sugar 糖 - 1 tsp
    White pepper 胡椒粉少许 - few dash
    Water 水 - 2 tbsp

    Jicama 沙葛 - 600g
    Dried mushrooms 干香菇 - 35g
    Reserve mushroom water 泡香菇水 - 4 tbsp
    Dried shrimps 虾米 - 20g
    Reserve shrimp water 泡虾米水 - 4 tbsp
    Oil 油 - 5 tbsp
    Shredded cuttlefish 鱿鱼丝 - 20g
    Chopped shallots 葱头切碎 - 100g
    Minced garlic 加入蒜末 - 1 tbsp
    Minced pork 猪肉碎 - 150g
    Shredded carrot 萝卜丝 - 200g
    Few drops of sesame oil 少许麻油
    Chopped spring onions 青葱
    Cilantro 香菜
    Fresh lettuce leaves 生菜
    Chilli sauce 辣椒酱
