    I love the fact that a bike at this level and price point has cruise control standard. It will help force other manufacturers to follow suit if their bikes are ride-by-wire.

    • @John_Ridley
      @John_Ridley 2 роки тому +6

      Cruise control by itself is making it very likely that I will buy one of these next year. I'm looking for a sport touring bike, I won't buy one without cruise, and from most anywhere else I'd have to pay double what this bike costs to get one with cruise control. This is ridiculous since any bike with throttle by wire shouldn't need anything but software and some buttons to add cruise. Like maybe $50 max? Come one big 4 put cruise on your bikes.

    I've ridden supersports for years, my most recent bike was a 2019 ZX-6R. I'm coming up on 50 years old and I was looking for something more "old spine" friendly. 😂 I bought one of these, the Heritage model that looks really similar to the Ducati Scrambler. CFMOTO gives a full 2-year factory warranty on the bike, the engine is derived from the Kawasaki 650 parallel twin, but CFMOTO changed the fueling and put a much more aggressive cam in this motor. I love the rumble down low, it's got WAY more torque than the Ninja 650 I used to have, it's a super fun bike. The only issues I've had are: 1) The throttle is VERY twitchy at low speeds, I think they need to work on smoothing out the fueling. I've read that the 700 CL-X models in Europe are a lot smoother, so something CFMOTO did to pass EPA emissions in the U.S. affected it. I've also read there is a firmware update coming to address this. And 2) it's difficult to find accessories. I can get stuff from AliExpress, this bike has been available in Asia for several years. It's been in Europe and Australia for a couple of years now too, but it just came to the U.S. in summer of 2022. Given time, I think this bike will become very popular here and the aftermarket will embrace it. Like you noted, the features that you get for the price are almost unbelievable. It rides great, it's put together well, it feels like a much more expensive bike. It's no XSR 900, but for $5k less expensive for a brand new bike it's fantastic.

      Im considering the Heritage. We have an NK for my son but I ride it a lot it's just so fun. I've seen some people mention you can get the ECU flashed which helps a ton with the twitchy throttle. Our NK is even a little twitchy so yeah guessing it's something they did for the US market.

    I bought this bike as my first bike. It's been great for me, it is very punchy like chase says. I've been following the break in procedure and keeping the RPMs mostly below 4k and its been great. I feel that as long as you are willing to keep the RPMs down and get comfortable on the bike and then start revving it out you'll be fine. The front brakes are very good and definitely require some time spent in a parking lot first to get use to. If you grab a hand full of front brake expect to be thrown into the tank and all of the pain that it comes with. The engine braking is great and the cruise control works awesome. In my opinion if you want this bike as a first bike go sit on it and maybe take it on a test ride if you can. But I would say it is a great first bike and you can't beat the price of it even for most used bikes now.

    I own the classic/heritage model. One thing Chase didn't mention, which was a deciding factor in me buying the bike is that CF Moto are partnered with KTM now, and they own 51% of said partnership. All of the features of KTM bikes are transferring over to their bikes (slipper clutch, leds all round, high quality suspension and brakes, self cancelling indicators, cruise control). The brand as a whole has actually been making their 650nk model using the same motor (the 700 is big bored to 693) since 2010 so the motor is tried and true with 12 years of refinement. The brand is massive in quad bikes and all terrains, and have just entered their 300SR in Moto 3. The brand is here to stay

    In asia there's already a sizeable market for CF MOTO. It was initially frowned upon over its debut, but gained a foot hold over the market for being an afordable bike maker. While CF Moto hasn't gotten quite the killer difference that Lexus had, I believe it followed the same model.

They're super pretty, have a ton of features, and aren't bank breaking to buy... Hopefully by the time I'm looking to take that step up to a mid-size bike we will see how well these bike fare in the longer term. My only real concern is quality. Yes, they make engines for KTM that seem to be doing well, and their quads seem to have gotten significantly better over the years... but this IS their first outing into motorcycles... @@collectivelogic So you actually have experience with CFmoto realiability, or are you simply bashing it for being chinesium? By no means i'm not trying to defend CFmoto. I just really prefer critisism to be based on some experience rather than: "Is chinesium, is bad"

    • @collectivelogic
      @collectivelogic 2 роки тому +1

      @@getty6974 correct. CF and KTM were the ones I had most issues with and CF is only brand to ever leave me stranded. But when I ride a KTM it feels special enough to be worth the risk. Lots of good products are Chinese based. This is a global economy and I'm a fan of global participation. This isn't about CF moto = bad always because they are Chinese. But none of the reviews displayed so far talk about long term ownership quality and support for when you have issues. I'm saying if money is an issue, then consider a safe known motorcycle until these have enough miles to know how they hold up. Because CF is trying to improve. Maybe reliability isn't a concern for you, by all means try your luck and hope it's better than mine.
      The new lotus SUV is Chinese based and I have a deposit on that!

    Looking forward to an updated review of this bike. My first bike is a 650R Ninja. The extra torque is great to carry around my 6'3" 300lbs self. However, the high-end power lacks a bit. Also, the R layout is not that easy to maneuver, but the suspension is also a bit softer than the real RR even after adjusting the rear suspension to the hardest. Driving the 650R made me feel like driving my truck not a real sport bike. But I cannot ride while eating or drinking like in my F150. Would you think this would be a better option, or a step up from the 650R ninja?

    OC! This company is banking on features for price and surprising quality. I'm starting to come around on liking sport bikes with the styling, and they are way more comfortable now. This is definitely a company to watch, I heard at my local dealer that they are kind of a partner to KTM. I think that's how they're pulling this craziness off. Overall, I'm just seeing what this company does. Their bikes look insanely good, and for that many incredible features for that price... the bigger brands need to pay attention. They don't have the reputation of the bigger brands, yet, but if they keep doing what they're doing... they're going to be a big deal in the future, calling it now.

    OC the reason why they can charge so little, is because they are in a joint venture with KTM under the name CFMOTO-KTMR2R. Where KTM owns 41% of CFmoto, they have been engine partner for a while, and it was just a matter of time that CFmoto started putting those engines in their own chassis. The designer is KISKA, who also designed the Husky Vitpilen 701, so very accostumed to work with KTM, and CFmoto must have good relationships with other parts manufacturers like KYB and Bosch, as they've been making ATV and UTV for years.
    TL DR: they might be new in the States, but they are quite established in China, they partnered with KTM to reach the west, and they have years of experience in the ATV and UTV market.

    OC. I believe they are pricing everything so low for the same reason you said. They have to compete with the current motorcycle market which is absolutely stacked and getting noticed is hard. I think that if they had started out with relatively normal costs on their machines it would've taken them way longer to get noticed. Once they make a name for themselves I fully expect prices to start rising, but they will likely still be very competitive in the field of pricing. I hope they don't rise anytime soon because I still need to get my first bike lol

    What is crazier yet is CF Moto is a Premium manufacturer in China with both Japanese and European collaborations. You would think that their machines would be almost double the price, yet their prices make them one of the best values on the market. Unlike many Chinese brands they deliver impeccable quality at working man pricing. IMO, You would be hard pressed to find a better quality machine in that price tier.
