@pandapanda8354 I had real expensive pieces, my grandmother's pieces, etc... burgled/robbed... sentimental more important than value... since then, I only use faux gems and sterling. Less monetary loss if it happens again. 🥺😒
Your method takes away material. Another method I *think* I've seen a video of is to solder together lots of tiny pieces, resulting in less silver dust/shavings. Are you able to capture all of your silver dust/shavings?

I rock czs as the halo in one ring and I rock real diamonds in channel set rows in another , both get compliments but the czs get more !
