I have to say also a little fun detail I always notice now with this movie is that Estes takes their items to protect them and save them, Ty took his back when they found the possessions and he’s the one who died. Julie and Carla were fine so yeah I think that’s a neat little detail
great work as always!!! Karla's scene where she falls back into the glass after Estes and Nancy dies always puzzles me. Like did the fisherman just assume she was dead? Even though he didn't really stab her with his hook?
the best way to watch this movie is to watch it and not take it seriously at all lol. Everything about it is so far fetched : the radio station, the deserted island during storm season, the fisherman’s backstory working on the island, Ray showing up the literal second Julie is about to be killed 😂😂😂 everything. It’s so unserious but very fun watch.
1:10:40 Ive watched this amazing chase scene way too much to not notice BUT Julie DOES jump to initially help Karla when she gets stuck in the beams. If you notice, Nancy takes it upon her self to jump infront of Julie and throw her hand at her like “stay there, I’ll get her.” 1:34:40 If you remember the layout of Julie’s room, Karla falls on the side of the room where there was no door. She crawls across the bed to get to the doorway. Now the reason she runs towards the balcony instead of the front door, I always attribute to her being hysterical and scared that she’s now alone and running from the killer. It’s in the details sir 😉
Glad that you did this movie! With how often you mention Urban Legend (1998) I'm pretty positive you're going to do an episode for that movie? Maybe in the next few months? Also, in retrospect the year 1998 was a big and memorable for Jack Black when you think about it. He played probably the most memorable character in this horror sequel. But he also had small part in the all star cast for the Tony Scott movie starring Will Smith "Enemy of the State (1998)".
The cherry on top should have been the framed picture of Helen 😂 also Ray suggesting that him and Julie go to the croaker queen pageant is so tone deaf.
Hey zack and eddie! Just wanted to let you guys know i love your podcasts and listen to them on a nightly basis, yous are doing great and ive loved watching your channel grow! Ive been with you guys since you started the cherry picker and have watched/ listened to every podcast ((except movies i havent seen yet, although they are on my watchlist so i can come back to them and still let them play while i sleep lol) you guys do a great job and i could listen to you talk about your favourite and not so favourable horror movies for hours. Love the dynamic you guys have, and actually have came to prefer your podcast over some other horror movie channels i ised to listen to religiously! Keep up the great work and stay scary ❤👍
I LOVE this movie! Brandy is the stand out for me, she gets a great chase scene. Not better or worse than Helen’s, just different and fun!! This is the best movie in the franchise! (I totally think you guys should do the 3rd entry AND the series 😊)
Loving your podcasts for years now. I have very fond memories of seeing this when it came out with one of my best friends, and to this day, I think it's so bad that it's good. So much fun.
I might be one of the only few people who prefers the sequel over the original because I felt like the original took itself way to seriously while this sequel set the right campy tone
I think the sequel is way more fun. Brandy was such a big star and it was fun to see her act and she wasn’t bad at all. The island and storm aspect was also so visual and scary. I totally get it.
I have a love/ hate relationship with the way that Zack overthinks every single thing, from the title of the movie to the fact that apparently no bartender would ever suggest karaoke to a customer 🤣
So I’m rewatching “Ghost Whisperer” and there is an episode where the ghost is doing hauntings that resemble horror movies. They name drop IMWYDLS and the other character just stops and looks at Jennifer Love Hewitt and pauses. It’s hilarious
46:00 when you bring up the randy death, I always wondered what happened in the one year from Billy being the prime suspect due to having a cell phone, but in scream 2 the entire quad had cell phones 😂
I’m glad you guys have covered the sequel! 🙌🏾 For me it is the more enjoyable one of the two movies from the cast to the classic 90s soundtrack (Swirl 360, Esthero, Hooverphonic, Reel Tight & of course CJ Bolland!) I think they got the formula right with the sequel whereas the first one they made almost every character so serious or unbearable! 😮💨 Keep up the good work 🤟🏾
Yes! I have always loved this sequel so much. I watch back to back with the OG every 4th of July. Gets so much unwarranted hate. Julie becomes and awesome final girl & it’s just a fun time with an awesome setting. Cannot wait to see Julie in the legacy sequel!
I love this movie, I have a lot of nostalgia for it but I can acknowledge it’s not a perfect movie and that maybe even some parts aren’t technically good but I still have so much fun watching
Jennifer Love Hewitt acts really campy in this. But she did Boy Meets world And Then There Was Shawn. It was released between after the first movie and before this. In that episode she makes a paroby of Julie James. screams really much for comedy
I like this one so much better than the first one. This one is just more fun and goofy. I like the first one, but I wish Helen was the final girl in the first IKWYDLS.❤ Ray and Julia are kinda annoying. Julia was easily my pick for the cherry 🍒 picker for this week.
@thecherrypicker i laughed a lot in this one, Here's a few of my favorite movies if you happen to get to them i'd love watching the reviews. or even being included as a side guest on your show if possible for Blair Witch or Silent Hill Or terrifer 2 if possible. I have a whole podcast setup as well and obs all that so i know how it all works. Silent Hill Terrifier 2 Twister The Blair Witch Project (original) The Houses October Built (1 and 2)
A new proper Urban Legend. The second killer also survived. Fun to see how the two killers can do in a new movie. But probably it would be better with just Rebecca Gayheart in a new surrounding. Maybe a teacher this time in another school. But if she's not the killer and they kill her off. It would be to much off a scream movie.
Listen there chemistry wasn’t that good this was back in 1998 things can change ray doesn’t need to die we haven’t seen him in forever Freddy I want see him that would be rude to us I really want to see him we need to give him a chance I love you guys thank you for making a great video please make more
As much camp as this movie was, the dude on the left is going so hard on his hate for Julie and things that can easily be defended and explained away as PTSD. Or her trying to get her life back to normal at help of Brandy but being dragged back to being triggered. This movie isn’t genius filmmaking and it’s not supposed to be but this is ridiculous. Has he never seen a character or known someone whose went through trauma a year prior and is dealing with it a year later? Like she’s not depressed and cut off 24/7. She’s clearly okay SOME of the time but has triggers.
I have to say also a little fun detail I always notice now with this movie is that Estes takes their items to protect them and save them, Ty took his back when they found the possessions and he’s the one who died. Julie and Carla were fine so yeah I think that’s a neat little detail

Estes hiding everything he knows from the group.
The voodoo.
I watch it just for follow up the first one.
Eddie getting so worked up about Julie having water with her potato chips is hilarious to me. Love you guys!
'oh cupcakes!' had me DYINGGGGG 🤣🤣🤣
B4 this the only thing I remember about this movie was jack black's character and Ben....son lol
Will...Ben's Son
1:10:40 Ive watched this amazing chase scene way too much to not notice BUT Julie DOES jump to initially help Karla when she gets stuck in the beams. If you notice, Nancy takes it upon her self to jump infront of Julie and throw her hand at her like “stay there, I’ll get her.”

Looking forward to next week. Love jaws ii
Just watched it in preparation for the podcast and let’s say it’s not that good

I just watched Enemy of the State after not seeing it for probably more than a decade. I forgot Jack Black was in it until he showed up. Haha
Had been waiting for this one, it didn't disappoint!
The cherry on top should have been the framed picture of Helen 😂
also Ray suggesting that him and Julie go to the croaker queen pageant is so tone deaf.
The premise part is sooooooo cuuuuuuuute 😂
Can't wait to see you cover I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
It's going to be fun to watch you do a video on the third movie. 👍🏼
Much more fun than the actual movie 😂

Same
Agreed

Great pick for a rainy 4th of July.. also, love that shot of Jennifer and Brandy... 🎆
was about to comment that The Faculty came out in December of 98 then Zack says it lol
I've been waiting for this one :D

*waits patiently for the I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer episode*
“Benson... Ben’s son! Get it?” “Oh, hi dad.”
Not to be an anagram nazi, but I believe what Edward used at the beginning was an acronym.
Eddies hate level of Julie borders on weird

Angela from night of the demons for the girls trip of the lipstick demon
Much like with Scream I saw I still know before I saw I know what you did last summer

How you feel about this movie is how I feel about Cabin in the Woods. I agreed with all your criticisms but I still love that movie 😂
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer isn’t a horrible movie, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is a horrible movie

Honestly maybe I just hate this movie cause Helen isn’t in it 😂😂😂
Damn I was so excited when this popped up.... But then you guys just hated on it for longer than the runtime lol 😢🤦🏻♂️
One of the worst and most boring horror Flicks i have ever watched!
