Okay so this movie isn’t perfect but I freaking adore it! 😂 gives me so much nostalgia because I watched this obsessively when I was a kid 😂 I love the boat setting, I actually like the characters and the scenes with them discussing their plans etc. I think the actors had good chemistry so it felt believable to me. The opening scene to this movie and the flashback scene makes me love it for those alone

Felt like the Dark Pictures game "Man of Medan" was a soft remake of this movie -- team of divers finds a ship still afloat from years ago, explores, and sees ghosts/hallucinations including a Shining-inspired dining room.
I’ll agree that the dialogue is so quiet but I only realised this recently watching it. I swear when I was a kid and I had this either on dvd or vhs the dialogue was louder because I could hear it fine back then
I understand about the last 20 minutes kinda falling off a bit BUT I don’t hate it, I like the ferrymen storyline, I looked it up ages ago and it’s Greek mythology. A ferrymen of souls called Charon who takes the dead to the underworld for Hades. I’ve grown to like it more over the years. I wasn’t crazy about it when I was a kid but I think it’s different and I like the ending where we see him again and it starts over
This is a Zack Snyder movie with Emily browning before suckerpunch guys in a horror movie you have Karl urban known for priest, Riddick movies with vin diesel, thor 3 before amazon primes tv show the boys with his star trek movie co star Simon pegg, you have Isiah Washington known for Grey's anatomy and Julianna margulies known for er with George Clooney this movie of Zack Snyder was before suckerpunch with Emily browning and before justice league so strap in guys this movie in fandom was before Zack Snyders suckerpunch and justice league but co stars from er, Grey's anatomy even star trek/ marvel in a horror ship movie (like deep rising for example) if you think of worms 🪱 just like 2001s valentine yes meets deep rising meets the sixth sense with the 1408 ghost vibes trust Mr I watch the movie this movie it's like a 6 all in 1
