Video game flashlights are one of my personal saddle burrs. After a few years of local power problem's i stocked up on various ones and even the clockwork ones last longer. I was not a dan of Doom 3 funnily enough.
God man... When I heard that, "I don't know much... But I got a handguuuun", I laughed so damn hard. My mind like lagged for a bit as I tried to remember where the hell that came from and when my mind kind of sorted it out, I just busted out laughing uncontrollably. What's so funny is my mom absolutely loved that song and my mom was the most anti-gun person you'd ever know. Add to the fact that we're from Texas, and the hilarity of that line you delivered made it that much more funny. Thanks for that much needed laugh.
The fact that the medical women with scalpels seem to be markedly more dangerous than the sluggish security dudes is reminding my of the System Shock 2 cyborg midwives. Those things were almost as creepy as the horrible brain monkeys.
23:30 Number issues is called dyscalculia (or preferably the much easier to say dystaxia), brother. It's dyslexia but for numbers, same positional issues as dyslexia, making you quadruple check the numbers you're trying to transpose. There's some overlap, but if you're like me the dyslexia is extremely minimal, or effectively nonexistent and the dystaxia is the one that actually gives you problems. Fun stuff; I could teach people how to run an equation, watch them get it right bc of my explanation, and then plug the numbers in wrong and get it wrong myself 7/10 times. Felt like i was losing my mind in math classes, sometimes. It's actually kinda rare, no one i know IRL has it, and you're probably the only person i watch regularly who has ever mentioned the same symptoms.
Haha, yeah everybody just tends to call them tarps as shorthand. It's been awhile since I heard the proper word. I think Splat worked construction for a decent stretch of time so it's probably more ingrained in his brain than most.
From purely electrical point of view it doesn't matter, but gamer sense is screaming to me to read the room and do as the dev expected you to do the assignment XD
i don't think i have dyslexia but my short term memory for numbers is awful. i started a new job in a hotel recently and the first couple of weeks i couldn't remember a single code, there are like 6 or 7 that concern me. a month later i'm literally flying through those doors. wtf dude😆
I kinda hate extensive darkness being used as a game mechanic. It sorta defeats the purpose of the medium if you can’t see anything. That, and it usually gives me a headache after a few minutes.
Out at 1:11. I'm done putting up with developers that insist on doing full screen blinding white. No one has shown me a legitimate reason to blind and/or induce headaches in their customer base.
@@Hawk7886 the sentence " sorry, I really like can history" will live rent free in my brain forever now. I imagine you saw my comment and went "this is my moment!"
Am I crazy or did he completely miss that one of the keypads popped up a picture on the side of the screen of a code written on a wall with blood, and he completely missed it? Seconds later while he's wandering around, he says "Maybe the code is written on a wall somewhere"... like in the picture that shows up when you access the keypad?
Number Dislexic is dyscalculia and its a real thing
The original System Shock was my jam game as a teenager, so this is a 100% must have for me.
You should check out 'Sonar Shock'
Did you played System Shock Remake- it's pretty good! ;-)
"this is one of those video game flashlights that lasts the duration of a bird's sneeze" lol
Damn, this was pretty cool. Love the atmosphere.
Looks like the white stamina bar changes to blue while the stim is active

Drinks coffee.
Wakes up on table.
Blood in the room.
Sanity meter: 96%
🤷♂️
Mondays, amirite?
That might be an average day as a space marine or something, IDK, man.
I mean... Normal work day for me... Minus the Sanity meter... 15 years working with public... There ain't no sanity left in me...
No wonder you didn't like coffee, you drank Folgers 😂
Folgers is superior to Starbuck's and Maxwell house. Medium roast, black. That's the only acceptable eay to drink Folgers.
For real. That is not a good first experience.
isn't that the incest coffee?
Nescafe?
Yuban is the best generally available store bought brand
Phew, that door sound. Getting some seriously classic Doom vibes from it.

9:56 That was pretty damn good singing XD
His runs are always on point. I think he was in a band as a vocalist
Just finished the demo, good atmosphere and story seems quite engaging. Got some "Signalis" vibes, which is great.
the saving sound is almost a 1to1 copy
biggest weakness to me is the monster animation, they look to goofy to feel threatening, which is a shame cause the atmosphere is well done
1:21 "Married with a child". Well.. That escalated quickly.
What a great demo! Outlast looks like Stardew Valley next to that one. Goosebumps all the way!
I love this style. Pixel art games spook me far more than high definition art.
Always a joy watching Splat getting ascared.
Tarpaulins?!?! Dude, I know I'm older than you and you break out tarpaulins? You must have had a very interesting childhood. Not a diss, much respect.

Almost fell out of my chair with the Leonard Cohen crack. LOL.
I feel like that red/green puzzle is going to fuck up a lot of colour blind people.
ig those people just wouldn't escape the lab
The wires are also different diameters

I really like the artistic direction the dev is going for
Reminds me of Signalis from Rose Engine
Ayyy, earliest I've been to a splat vid!
I have a problem with nuumbers as well, dyslexia is a thing with numbers.
Try reading it from the back to front, it makes it easier to remember.

We need that dazzling Aaron Neville cover about your newfound firearm as a startup tone
In less than 10 min , i knew it wasn't a game for me and it wasn't even me who was playing. Look like a great horror game none the less.
I love a good Leonard Cohen reference. Tip of the hat to you sir.
There is a VR game called Compound that has a similar visual style but is a FPS action game. This would be pretty great in VR.
code was written on the wall of the bathroom right in between the mirror and the entrance door
You'd be an amazing guest on the Scary Game Squad.
9:57 that penny has the most beautiful voice
Thanks for showcasing. ^^
Looks pretty dang good.
The magical power of caffeine...that is why I only drinnk it every 3 years.
"Oh no i need a code for that" Code literally next to the keypad..... Oh Splattercat.......
Aaaand Demo Downloaded
I thought it was a good demo. I definitely wanted to see more. Thanks Splat!
I actually hit f5 when the screen went solid white lol, looked away for a sec and looked back at that point.
Thanks for the video Splattercat!
This has old Defcon 5 vibes, I dig it.
Looks very interesting. I wish I had stayed in school so I could be making games like this.
That Kitty is horrifying.
Thanks Splatt!
I'd kill to see Splatter do a full playthrough of that... not a humain being but like a fish or a bird... but I'd kill
Something about this game reminds me of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold.
Pretty good demo. Bonus points for kitty.
23:35 number dyslexic is often referred to as dyscalcula
I really hate the flashlight the idea of batteries dying in a few moments always annoyed me
Shodan cameo
Best part of waking up....is Zero in your cup....
Typical first coffee experience - you drink it and then wake up is surgery room of some shady english gentleman.
re: "number dyslexia" that sounds like dyscalculia

veeery interesting, i'm gonna go wishlist real quick..
The code is literally on the screen when you are interacting with that keypad. :)
That just displays the most recent photo taken. He had already used that code earlier if I remember correctly.
well that was lovely
I really don't like how monsters just randomly spawn, even in small areas you've cleared.
I’m think the weird pace of the zombies is called staccato
Wow, this looks very promising.
This one has potential
some great splatty quips in this🤣
You probably should have gone mad and read codes on the walls.
hit boxes seem well out - shooting and melee
this looks pretty fun, i was wondering if its possible for you to get a vod channel going for those of us that cant always catch the streams?
Loved this
Near the end of the video, Splat passed a "Space Invaders" arcade game. I wonder if playing that gives you the code to the Administrator's Office?
i have seen multiple videos on this game and everyone thinks its an immersive sim while its clear is a horror game.
Having a lot of system shock vibes. Missing crafting and science though ^^
Wasn't the code backwards in the bathroom? Needed the mirror to read it i think.
I'm a simple man. I see system shock, I click system shock.
Bach's Passacaglia & Fugue in C-minor playing in the background at the beginning. An odd choice for a game 🤔
Resident Evil mixed with SCP
Aesthetically a little overly crunchy for my taste. But looks pretty cool.
excellent!
I think you missed a code on the wall by the sink in the Men's room. (Was there a ladies room? Just as you turned to exit.
Looks like a good Game, i posible you need a note pad just in case.
A mistery room kind of thing prob needs notes.
looks cool
This is a _little_ too retro for me, I fear. :D
Pop and lock terror dance
I have the number dyslexia too! I wonder what thats about…
15:00 😂😂😂😂

🖤
Why are you seeing a lady? SHODAN!
I knew tarp was short for tarpaulin but i'd never head it said in regular parlance.
splat do you ever ask for a cannister of soda?
Drink cans are just cans, it's not short for anything. It comes from tin cans, which were used to can foods. Canning is a process.

would be nice if you picked up memos so you didnt have to guess if you had read a paper laying around or not
Try to get super coffee. Quite nice in SEA.

Game looks like The Stanley Parable at the start lol
Hey Splat! More zombies, huh?................ Well, see yah later!
Will if caffeine dose all that then why am i still takeing LSD???? LOL
sweeeeeeet
I can't afford the gpu to run this

NOPE. NOOOPE.
5/10
UA-cam says system shock
stupid youtube
Lots of boomer-esqe low poly shooters lately. selaco, this game, uh... Another one im forgetting... Something's in the air this month.
This is anything but a boomer shooter
An immersive sim that's not very immersive lol
