In case anyone is still watching, there is a faster way to split the cube into a bunch of uniform smaller cubes. Rather than splitting them all individually and filling the faces, you can just a Voronoi Fracture generator, and change the source point distribution to a Matrix object in your desired configuration. Creates the 216 cubes for you with the fillet non-destructively in, like, seconds.

Basically you need to identify which objects you’ll be targeting beforehand and then adding additional ‘Target(s)’ in the tag. After adding all of the targets set the ‘Update Local Offsets’ to your first target and click the “Record Optimized’ button. This will add an enormously and annoyingly amount of key frames. Next, jump to the frame where you want to change the target object and change the ‘Update Local Offsets’ drop down to your next target object and, again, click the “Record Optimize” button. Repeat until you’ve done all the target objects. I’m in v20 - not sure what v21 and up have but this is what worked for me. Very annoying but it worked.
I've never felt like I'm going to war AND watching a tutorial at the same time before. Not sure I agree with the music in the background... Otherwise, great tutorial! Some slow ways of doing things here and there, but good regardless!
When I key the rotation on the 0 degree axis, rather than going straight it does some weird diagonal tweening inbetween deforming the entire cube. Why is that? How do I force it to move mechanically on one axis? I did not have this problem in till I started editing the individual cubes, they have the right pivot point and degrees so I have no idea what's going on here.

it creates no uniform random shapes, no option to change to cubes, very useless

I suspect that it has to do with the numerical values in the rotation boxes. The values go from 0 to 360 degrees. The program gets confused. I think.
It's something called gymbal lock! It's a pain in the neck, you can google it, ir happens with every rotation if you force the axis.
