True confession...I drove my 96 Taurus for 5 years with the check engine light on. It was on when I bought it used. Drove great, until rust underneath killed the frame. Junkyard got a great engine and many other good parts.

Here’s a good tip the colour of the lights tell you something so you can have Red lights and Orange or Yellow these two are the same. So an orange or yellow light are caution lights they are telling you something is wrong but take caution it’s not serious yet. Any lights that are red are serious and will cause damage so examples a low coolant light will be red e brake still engaged will be red low oil pressure light will be red battery light will be red low brake fluid light will be red. Those are examples of a serious issues. Caution lights will be anything that’s not a major risk of damaging something right away but could in the future if not taken care of.

My 2005 Dodge Durango was doing this awhile back and I fixed the problems, but today after I finished pumping gas I sticked my key in (did not turn on all the way) and the engine light was flashing, but after I turned it on it won’t flash unless I turn off and just stick my key in...any suggestions?
My car is Toyota vitz and sometimes it lights engine light on then gone and it aslo have jumping thing jerking and not change gears properly what is the reason??? It's emergency please???

I had a misfire on cylinder 4 on my honda element cause I broke off a tip of sparkplug inside the piston almost and couldn't get it out so I unconnected that 4th fuel Injection and drove it for 3days to get bk n 4th to work then I got repairs done u was told how I did it it couldn't cause to mush harm to the cayt convertor but I had low power and it was running very rough
Somebody told you that having a broken spark plug electrode bouncing around your inside cylinder wouldn't do much harm?!? That is nutty as hell. That little piece of metal could do some SERIOUS DAMAGE to the cylinder walls, the piston, your valves, and pretty much ruin your engine.

Recently I changed spark plugs and coils few months it worked got last 3 days I have a misfire on almost all cylinders and once a while the check engine light is flashing.

I’m in the same situation I have a FIAT 500 2015
Check your spark plug gaps, any ignition wires, boots, and coils or coil packs. Did you do any under-hood spraying of water, or any other liquids?coils sometimes will start misfiring if they get moisture in them. Check your oil level, coolant level, and all vital fluid levels. If none of those work to fix the issue, have and OBD2 scan done, and get your codes evaluated.

Hello, I have a 1994 Toyota Camry Le 4 cylinder . A few days ago, it started running rough. Didn't shut off at any time. I noticed that it had a tear in the hose going straight to the top of the motor,. No check engine light,. Today I took it off with the clamp and the piece fell off. I put the remainder of the hose back on , partially. Clamped it down it tight enough,. Started it up now it has a check engine light on now, still runs rough. I wonder if I need a new one, or is it something else is why rough idle ? All motor mounts are broke. Why would the check engine light still be on ? Any help would be appreciated thanks
The light on my 09 Grand Vitara came on after the engine was rebuilt from heat damage.
My car engine light was flashing while driving and was not going up after 3rd gear but when i went to mechanic he says that he was getting knock sensor code and he deleted it and after car is running fine. Do i have to worry about anything? Or it ok to drive.
Now if your check engine light wasn't blinking on and off your car would be safe to drive if the light was just on and not flashing.
How do i get the check engine light to go off i just put a new cat and a new upstream o2 sensor and a new down strem o2 sensor i heard that you have to drive 50 or so miles so it can reset it's self
It will reset after a few on and off cycles (not sure how many). You can also disconnect battery for 15 min and it should reset

They love starting with the most expensive solution! Get a second code read somewhere else, do some research on your model and that engine code. There’s a chance you just need an o2 sensor.
My check engine light blinked for around 30 seconds, there were some vibrations , but it went off and everything was ok.
Same, I’ll just turn my car off and back on and it works perfectly fine

I know this video is a bit old, but I thought I would correct that the "service engine soon" is a GM version of the check engine light. It is not a maintenance light, but the same as engine light on other cars.
When my check engine light came on my all the lights in my car will flash. I took too an auto parts place their said it was the computer system. Any suggestions on what else could cause this??
That is quite strange. Usually only the check engine light will flash. Sounds like a unique electrical problem or like they said, the computer

I had that too, I’ve noticed with my car tho that all the light are turned on before turning off. There probably shouldn’t be any problem, unless this didn’t happen before. If you’re worried you can always get it checked

Hey, I just purchased a brand new 2022 Chevy Suburban and within 12 hours driving on the highway my engine light started flashing then eventually disappeared. It happened once again after that. The car has a mild shake at idle. I took it to the Chevy dealer service department immediately and they said that's normal during a break in period. Have you ever heard anything like that? Are they completely full of shit? I am not driving crazy. Just normal

I've searched online looking for shops where you might possibly work but can't find anything. Perhaps you have a different regular job? Anyway, I am looking for a Kona side mechanic.
