So, I'm the guy who shoots himself in the foot at like 2:40. It hooked my sweatshirt on the re holster... definitely my bad. It blew my bone apart. Clean through and through. The guys there were amazing. I barely bled. Greg, the guy assessing it was a medic. He had my boot off and foot wrapped in about 45 seconds and I was in an ambulance and in a hospital within 2 hours(we were in the middle of nowhere in Idaho) It happened February 2nd this year. And I'm already back on it since April...disc golfing and everything. Can't believe I made a Darwin list!! Hahahahahaha!!!
Anyone else remember about ten years ago when people were “absolutely shocked” that handing a fully automatic sub-machine gun to a child was a terrible idea because she ended up shooting the instructor in the head?
The one I remember was where this SWAT tactical officer was in front of a classroom full of students. Of course he was dressed all tactical when he shot himself in the foot.
9:35 those guys were turkey hunting so its a good chance dude took a wad of pellets to his butt cheek. Turkeys have surprisingly good eyesight and can differentiate hunters blaze orange from the natural foliage. most states require hunters to wear orange while hunting, some states give hunters the option to remove it for turkey hunting unless they are moving to or from their spot
I was thinking turkey hunting too, based on the lack of orange and the big shotguns. But the shot seemed like a rifle. Hard to tell in that outfit/mask and with the audio muted, but was the hunter who got hit a girl?
Beat me to it! You can hear the guy on the left using a turkey mouth call at 9:35 and can see turkey feathers in the bottom left hand corner of the frame. If you look to the left of the guys head when he gets shot you can see the smoke from the shot coming from the pile of brush on the woodline.

@@larrythompson8630 Yeah. No. The safest ranges I've been on don't have one, other than first guy there being the "designated RSO" for insurance reasons but no one keeps track. If you need an RSO you're in an unsafe shooting environment.
Brandon, I have a short story for you. Last year I was Elk hunting with a couple of friends and a friend of one of my buddies whom I didn't know. He seemed alright and didn't wave any red flags for us, but he was from Seattle. On our second day of hunting on Weyerhauser Logging roads, we saw a herd of Elk cows coming down through the timber on their way to a grazing meadow. I knew that there would be Bulls following the lead cow after most of the other cows had checked to make sure the coast was clear, so to speak. So I set up on my tripod, so I could get a good steady aim and I looked to my left and right to make sure I didn't have something that could spook them or not give me a clear shot. I was scoping in on the 1st Bull, a 6X5 with huge horns, when a massive shot went off right next to my left ear. It blinded me for a second and left my ears ringing so loud I couldn't hear anything for a moment. As I got some of my hearing back, partially, I heard my lifelong buddy "Dan" screaming at this new guy to stay down on the ground. I turned to face them, and I realized my buddy had just Cold Cocked this ass wipe and knocked him to the ground. My ear hurt and I realized I had powder burns on it. Turns out, idiot saw the herd and seeing I wasn't taking a shot, decided he would do so while standing behind me and just up to my left. As he followed the Bull in his scope (it was moving left to right in the meadow below us and I was standing below, idiot). Idiot touched one off and nearly put a 240 grain core-lock into my skull. My buddy Dan seeing what was happening blindsided the idiot knocking him down and taking away his rifle. Needless to say, he wasn't invited to go hunting with us this year. That and he missed the Bull scaring the herd, and none of us got an Elk that day. Idiot was kicked out of camp.
What the crap. Seriously? Man, I’m glad that you didn’t have to go meet Jesus that day. I look forward to the day that I meet Jesus in person, but I’m not in a rush!
I've never shot a firearm in my life, and even I start cringing myself into oblivion whenever I see such blatant disregard for firearms safety. Great showcase as usual, Brandon.
@@jimclayron417 Just having a comon sense is enough to keep everyone safe. I'm a gun owner rn, but a year ago i was a complete newbie, and despite of that instructor told me that he would be fine if he left me alone with it :V
I worked at a gun store one summer and I have to say it was enlightening. Nearly every week we would have some idiot flag the staff or each other either in the store when inspecting a potential purchase or at the in house range (much to the frustration of the RSO) Instantly kicked out purchases canceled and refunded. Do not pass go do not pay $200. Owner had a zero tolerance policy for that bs. He told me “If they want to off themselves they can do it after they kindly get the f*ck off my property, it’s to much paperwork in-house.”
As someone that works in an outdoors store that sells guns, we have to inspect any personal firearms that you are going to be unholstering or unpacking, either to sell it or get it fixed, before you take it into the store. You would not believe how many times I've been flagged by some idiot with no idea how to handle a gun. *Points gun at me, a cashier* "Hey, I was told I need to check this in."
same here worked at one for a couple months and the idiots that would just flag the whole immediately get kicked out. My favorite part of the job tho is when a dad would come in with his and ask to see a boomstick and hand it to his kid and the kid would flag absolutely nobody keep his hand well away from the trigga no hard Rs here and show the most respect towards a gun anyone could every show it always brightened my day when a kid was taught proper gun safety loaded or unloaded.
So when I was buying my PPQ M2 Walther pistol last year,( while I was waiting for my paperwork to clear, with my father and my sister), this guy walks in asking how to load bullets into the magazine of his pistol. Mind you, 5 minutes before, there were these two women in there that were purchasing a gun - they didn't care how to use it, what kind of gun it was, or what type of ammo to use. They walked out after purchasing it. The guy had THE same gun! I swear they bought it FOR him because he couldn't pass a background check. He didn't know how to load the mag, and asked the guys behind the counter how to load it! 😬
Camo'ed guy was turkey hunting, in my area you dont wear orange while hunting turkey, you also never approach a turkey. You only call them in. This avoids issues like what happened there, they probably were shooting at their decoys.
See that half makes sense to me, what do you mean you don't wear orange when turkey hunting? Do you mean you don't have to wear orange turkey hunting? Poor hunters that don't have decoys get bored and often walk around, thinking they can sneak up on game. Watched one guy on the i8r side of a ravine, and pushed the deer out of the bottom and straight up in front of me. Boy did those echoes sound upset.
@@justcolb in my state you both don't have to (unlike deer season, pheasant) and people don't because turkeys have pretty good eye sight and will notice blade orange iirc.
@@CondavourTalksGuns I was wondering when I was typing that comment if you were going to mention the eyesight of turkeys as I've heard that too. I haven't seen any research about it though, as always heard it as a myth. Anything happen in your experience with turkeys and orange?

As a polish man seeing that our Police General won this Darwin award I totally agree with this verdict :D The funniest thing is that he's still a chief of Polish Police and this is kinda scary for everyone here.
The guy shot in the ass was NOT deer hunting. He was turkey hunting. You can tell by the extreme amount of camo (gun barrel & all), the way he is moving his mouth (working a diaphragm call), exclusive use of shotguns (reinforcing other evidence), camo patterns being darker green rather than brown (likely Spring season hunt), and the hit in the ass look to be a very tight pattern of shot rather than a high hypervelocity rifle round. Likely, the shot was much closer than the camera makes it appear. The guy shooting him hears a turkey and shoots into the "bush" - stupid, stupid move. There is no such thing as a brush shot. Just simple incompetence. BTW deer cannot see most colors but turkey absolutely can.
Yup. Deer, along with your dog actually, see greens and reds, including orange, as various shades of brown. Blue however, sticks out to them like a sore thumb, which is why you shouldn't wear jeans while deer hunting, and why a dog can have a hard time finding a red chew toy in a green lawn.
Actually those two hunters are actually turkey hunting. That’s why they didn’t have orange as turkeys can see colors and will spook from orange. So the two hunters did literally nothing wrong. Also I say the other guy shot at their turkey decoys thinking them to be real alive birds.
@@AntonAdelson Its a good thing we dont give a damn what you think then. No animal can shoot back, so you are basically shitting on every hunter out there. Some hunt to keep animal populations in check and some hunt to feed their family. A lot of times both overlap.
Mad props to the employee at that range who immediately jumped in and grabbed the guy’s wrist when he pointed the pistol at his friend’s head. What the hell is wrong with people?
What's wrong with people is: Quite a bunch of them stopped using their heads for anything but stopping the rain from falling down the windpipe. If someone thinks a gun is a cool boytoy to fuck around with even when they're literally on their first range day, people get hurt.
Too many first-person shooter games without non-virtual experience? Just a guess. Perhaps no Dads and no country living experience either. I've heard the same said for modern Driver's Education. 40 years ago, everyone had "tractor time."
In regards to the woman reaching up with her gun to retrieve her ear-protection/cover her ears, the really remarkable thing about "Tex" shooting himself in the leg earlier is...HE STOPPED AND CALMLY PUT THE GUN DOWN. The guy literally is already shot but has the presence of mind to reach down and drop his weapon before collapsing. You can say what you want about him wounding himself, but the man is an absolute master of range safety!
I appreciate that you feel forced to explain the basic rules of firearm safety in these videos. Most youtubers would just hide behind the "this video is educational" montra and never touch on safety. Thank you!
One fun way to improve this would be to have them on the side of the screen and mark each when they are being broken. Maybe a little bell ringing on the backround too.
5:52 This Range Officer is legendary. I counted, and it took LESS THAN ONE SECOND from the moment he points the gun at his friend's head, for the officer to jump in and prevent this idiot from executing his friend on TikTok. Guns are serious and this Range Officer needs to be applauded for reacting so quickly. Things like this do NOT happen often, and sometimes officers can get a little complacent as a result, because MOST people aren't this stupid, but it took NO time for him to identify the threat and act on it immediately, potentially saving this dude's life.
I bet he treats every visitor like a Darwin-award candidate for a reason, cuz it just takes one moron to turn their brain into no-longer-brain, or for said moron to think it's funny to point gun and friend and early-end that friendship forever.
I once got barrel swiped at chest level with a 12 gauge a few seconds after i told everyone it was loaded. Don't ever shoot with someone who doesn't take gun safety seriously, they thought it was funny.
I let my buddies brother be my wife and I's roommate for a bit due to rough times. When he was moving in I saw him with some rifles/shotguns in cases and took him for a gun guy. I showed him my Springfield hellcat with a reddot and at the time it was loaded but not chambered, and I told him that before handing it to him. First thing he did was chamber it and flag me in the head with it. That is when I learned that just because someone has a gun doesn't mean they are smart with guns.
I took a guy I met at anime club to a county fair once and he picked a handgun up off a display table and started fiddling with it and dropped the magazine on the floor and I was so mortified and I asked “what were you trying to do??” and he said he was trying to find the safety and both me and the guy running the table were like “why???” I was so embarrassed that when I escorted him back to his car I went back to the fair and apologized profusely on his behalf. I ghosted that guy after that.
The shotgun to the arm thing always reminds me of that clip of the dude going over to someone's house and basically saying shoot me and the dude blows a hole straight through his arm and you can see daylight
Yep, a lot of guys keep decoys in the back of the vest when they aren't in use, the other hunter probably saw the decoy poking out and heard the calling and shot at it. This actually happened to my cousin before.

Brandon, from what I know you have a wrong photo for that grenade launcher. The one that gen. Szymczyk received from Ukrainians, was a part of RGW-90 disposable grenade launcher, more specifically - an already used tube. Or it was supposed to be used and empty... he survived only because it was (most likely) a HEAT warhead, instead of HESH. Although politically, this incident is WAY more absurd - the general was not only NOT removed from his position, he is considered to be a VICTIM. That's some Monty Python level shit right there.

went looking, that kid did an interview for cabellas. you can see the man fire behind him, the bullet ricocheting off the T post, after they remark they think they hear a hunter after a few weird turkey calls. the bullet hits his vest with some turkey callers inside and they explode injuring him but the bullet did not enter. he was saved by a wooden gobbler
Reminds me of that story, where someone shot over the target at a range, the bullet flying across a field, into a parking garage, ricocheting off the underside of a railing, hitting someone in the head inside his home.
@@xXYannuschXx in sweden there is a well known case of a guy getting hit in the side of his head driving. The bullet came from a military range several kilometers away. He died, ofc. They belive that if he had his window up, the bullet would not have killed him. He was driving about 50 mph or so. Bullet was a richochett from the range, probably a ground strike before the backstop. After that they forbid automatic fire on civilian ranges (the military that is).
Fortunately my then 16 year old daughter didn’t quite qualify us for a Darwin nomination. But it sure does show that I should have drilled the rules into her brain anyway. Particularly since I’ve been shooting for nearly 40 years. She’s always been crazy over video games and her friend sent a NERF version of her favorite character’s pistol as a Christmas present two years ago. She decided that it made a great noise when cocked and asked me to look. I turned my head towards her and she shot me in the eye with the NERF dart. I now have a permanent gray line in the vision of my left eye because the force of impact caused a section of my retina to detach.
When you mentioned Szymczyk i started to laugh unbelievably hard. As a polish person i can only say that situation makes me think even more that we tend to do dumb shit. And Merry Christmas everyone, don't blow yourself up with a "decomissioned" grenade launcher.
Between the " decommissioned " rocket 🚀 launcher and the two missiles that they fired into Poland , it should be painfully obvious that Ukraine secretly hates Poland .

I’ve seen the one at 5:27 before, and I’ll say it again: that RSO was on the ball, and had probably already clocked the stupid from the moment they walked in.
The "point the gun at my buddy" effect only ever happened to me with people who were already screwed up in the head, either by terrible upbringing or drugs. No half-sane adult would ever think to do that.
Man, I have a strong tendency to point the kitchen knife downwards when I'm walking around kitchen with it, so I don't accidentally trip and drive it into my family member or myself. Same with anything else that's sharp, I'm super conscious of possible risks. Thus said, I cannot imagine how some people fuck around with loaded GUNS, which have more chances to kill than just injure. How do you not think when pointing it at someone, immediately spells "they could literally die if I pulled the trigger" in your head?
Because fucking around with guns means you’re a real tough badass obviously. And they don’t realize that for most people guns are equally as effective as a knife without training. Seriously, I’ve watched some “hood shootings” and they seriously can’t hit shit.
@@maverick4255 Yeah, I can't help but laugh while watching some of the police shooting clips, those wannabe-gangsta guys try to John Wick the cop and get mag dumped instead. @@baraka629 That's probably pretty safe seen as they need to actually be fired in order to detonate, presuming you don't go and hit one with a sledgehammer or something. Dropping them or even throwing them at the floor probably won't be enough to cause an explosion.
Ok so the hunting video is actually a guy who was turkey hunting (its why they had shotguns and no hunters orange on) so he was peppered with turkey loads and it was the completely the shooters fault for shooting at the sound of a turkey call and not the hunters, bc people shoot at noises is one of the reasons why we have hunters orange however turkeys aren’t color blind or at least not to blaze orange so you can’t wear it if you are hunting turkey
Yea deer are red green color blind I believe; orange is just another shade of green/brown to them. But turkeys have full spectrum color vision even into some shades we cant see, and can spot you from a long way away.
A user elsewhere in the comments said this about it "I know the guys in that video, a guy shot across the property line at their decoy with a .243 rifle. The bullet just grazed him enough to draw some blood thankfully. In Virginia where they were it’s legal to use rifles to turkey hunt at certain times of the year." Here's a recap interview: ua-cam.com/video/19r1mgM1vpw/v-deo.html
Brandon actually says to know your target and what is behind before keeping your finger off the trigger. He may be the only UA-camr that gives situational awareness the priority it deserves.
Good point, but those rules are only numbered because that's what we do. They are more chronological than by importance. There isn't one that is more important than the others.
@@user-bn3cb4be5o Nah, us RSOs are pretty calm under pressure. Panicking doesn't help anyone. You need to remain calm so the victim remains calm. You tell them it's not as bad as they think so they relax and lower their heartrate (helps with blood loss). You also need to immediately assess where they've been injured so you can get started on stopping the bleeding. Get the bleeding and the victim under control, and things go a lot more smoothly. You gotta remain objective and detached. Just go through the procedures you learned in your training. This is exactly why we don't allow drawing from holsters at our range, unless you're a RSO. Even then, we don't practice on the public range, and we never practice alone... at least, we aren't supposed to. There are some dumbass RSOs out there, and the rest of us try to weed them out. Security cameras have helped with that.
@@user-bn3cb4be5o Not really. Not to say it's real but calmness can very much occur during stressful situations especially when you have people who have dealt with it prior. A military vet can handle a shooting or the sight of a recently shot man better than a random civ. A surgeon can see a dead guy split open whilst he eats his lunch. On top of people getting used to things based on time spent around it, people are also born differently. Some people cry, scream and shake when bad news comes when others will carry on. Again not to say it's real but the angle of the gun definitely looks like it went way too close for him to risk faking it.

@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz it's amazing that people will do stuff like that without a simple Google search. These things are a lot more powerful than a lot of people realize. Safety is incredibly important when you're using something that can throw debris or shrapnel several hundred yards.
My dad is a military vet here in the UK and even with bb guns and air rifles he always taught me like it was a real gun. Never to point it at someone, never keep your finger on the trigger unless ready to fire, be aware of your surroundings and when finished empty the mag and any rounds left in the gun same goes for checking the gun to see if its live whenever going to use one. So it shocks me as someone from the UK who has never held a real fire arm to see people trained in this breaking those rules so effortlessly especially the polish guy. Love your videos and just wanted to add I know exactly the dudes your talking about when it comes to guns. I like sharing my knowledge that I learn because I'm a fan of war, history and weapons so whenever I learn something that's new to me I enjoy sharing it with those who wish to listen. But I have met a few morons in my time who like you said held a gun once or fired a bb gun and think they are ww2 heroes who know all about it or something. The worst is the ones who claim to be gun experts and tell you about their tours or escapades but then get so much information wrong which tells you they have no clue.
BB guns and air rifles are absolutely real guns, so good on him. In regards to training, you have to remember that police (and military) members receive the bare minimum of training. For the vast majority of soldiers and officers, shooting bad guys is the smallest part of the job, and so the time spent training in weapons reflects that. And with top brass like the Polish fella with the noob toob, those are often more politicians than they are frontline fighters. So take the already low expectations of bare minimum training and half them.

Spent 22 years in the Army, and two things here brought back memories and a laugh. I grew up around firearms, my father a 30-year Marine made sure I knew safety as I hunted with my cousins starting at 11 and lived on a farm in the summers and holidays. Anyway while in basic in 1983 during a weapon class for the M16 A1 the instructor said " Keep your booger hook off the bang switch" All I heard was booger hook and I had never heard that term before. For some reason, my brain locked up and I committed a regrettable mistake and asked what a "booger hook" was. Needless to say for the rest of the day if my right hand was free my finger was up my nose. That was until my squad ratted me out and said I was a left-handed shooter and with DI logic if either hand was free a finger up the nose and both hands were free, well I became a mouth breather, ah the good old days. Lol. Many years later as I had heard and it was a given we all wanted soldiers who had never picked up a weapon as they had developed no bad shooting habits ( well the crap they saw on TV did not help) or know-it-all attitudes and thus easier to teach.
I was in Ft Leonard Wood Basic Training 89 in my wall locker we were allowed photos so on the inside of one door I had pictures of me and my future/still current Wife and the other door me and my Father in pictures of Deer we had shot in Michigan along with Turkeys and my Dads Mule Deer he harvested in Colorado, lots of Fish we had caught. So occasionally I'd get a duty Sgt that would come around in the evenings while we were on our personal time of polishing our boots, laundry, squaring away our uniforms etc etc The Duty Sgt's would always check out the pictures and ask me about the huge Deer my Dad had harvested and all the other hunting pics, where we were from and where the Animals were harvested. Word got to the Drill Sgt's (ones that liked hunting) and they came to check my pics out ( they gave me push ups during our conversations!!) So I was a minor "Legend" amongst the Cadre....one day on the Rifle Range during practice sessions we get a CEASE FIRE from the Range Tower so we all put our Rifles on Safe and put them in the stand next to our fox holes. Down at the 300M mark and the far right of the range a small herd of Deer step out thus the reason for the cease fire.......Shortly after the Range Officer gives us some instructions MY Drill Sgt gets on the Bull Horn and goes WHERE THE F IS PVT SMITH AT????? I raise my hand and yell here Drill Sgt.....He states I'm keeping my good eye on you Pvt as he range walks to my position and snatches up my M-16...he says I've seen what you Michigan Boys do to Deer!!

The basic rules of gun safety exist for a reason, and thank you for continuing to reiterate them. I check the chamber every time I pick up or put down a gun, and one time I did a chamber check, but didn't realize that I pulled the slide far enough to load a round. So I was glad that my routine of checking it existed, because the next time I picked it up, checked it and realized it was loaded, even though I didn't think it was. No one is perfect, everyone fucks up, which is why we have these rules.

11:50 There's possible explanation to that: supposedly, round didn't exploded in his office* but punched trough floor to room below and exploded there. *Because safety inside round makes it armed after certain distance. Also, idk where you got info that grande launcher he got is one from the photo but Polish media got "unofficial info" (read as: it might be fake) it was RGW-90 But take both those infos with grain of salt. The things we know for more or less for sure: Guy got granade launcher as present in Ukraine. Came back with it to Poland Shoot it in his office. Caused explosion. Survived.
The first fact is true, if I'm correct the distance required is like 20m ( I don't know how to use the imperial system and just make sure about the distance). Basically as the grenade spins in the air it causes the insides of the grenade to align and once its fully aligned, it can go off. ( Sorry again, English isn't my first language )

I remember my first gun range experience. It was basically an intro course. We were asked what our gun knowledge is and if we shot a gun before. They even asked each of us a gun question to make sure we actually know our stuff if we claimed it, since we were first timers at the range. I believe I honestly said just videogames and shot nothing in my life so far (outside of some backyard family bonding). Me, and 2 more people who didn't answer the questions correctly were given a strict 1 bullet at a time rule until instructed otherwise. I think that's a great rule to avoid situations like these, because after shooting I believe 5 or 10 consecutive rounds without any key mistakes (not clearing the fire arm, flagging, finger on the trigger after pew pews are done etc), we were allowed multiple rounds, starting with 3, slowly moving up to full mags. Once multiple rounds were involved, we were instructed that if the gun doesn't shoot or cycle, to remove our finger from the trigger, gun still in hand and facing the range, then raise the other to call over for help. I had my first jam that day, and as an inexperienced person, I almost automatically turned around to ask for help. I did remember the indtructions tho and did it correctly. Then I was guided step by step on how to clear the jam. Back then, I did think much of it, but nowadays I just keep reminding myself of how easy it is to be stupid with a gun if you don't have the habits or the focus.
Come on Brandon the Polish General's name is easy to pronounce...just hard to read. Here I'll give you a pronunciation guide for it! Jaroslaw = Yar-oh-suave, Szymczyk = Shim-chick. Yes that weird looking "L" with the line through it makes it like a "w" pronunciation in English. OK with all that said. I saw the uncensored video of that guy with the new elbows from the shotgun blast. It's pretty horrendous....I don't even think he realized his right arm was messed up too....scary shit to say the least.
I've been handling and shooting guns for coming up on 4 decades and I still have a healthy fear of guns. As for the second to last one, that's the EXACTLY reason I won't step onto public land during hunting season. I was working as a Paramedic in a county that has a large WMA (Wildlife Management Area) where idiots from Atlanta always show up and try to land themselves on the Darwin awards. I ran a guy who was walking back after a turkey hunt with more than the required amount of orange on and low and behold, some idiot sitting about 15 years off the road, facing the road, shot at the orange. Luckily the victim was only peppered by some #8 shot from a 410 that had passed through a fair amount of brush and limbs but still had around 20 bb's in him. The guy who was shot was doing everything right but the idiot with the 410 had seen some turkeys crossing the road there on his drive in so he parked about 100 feet down the road and sat waiting for them to cross back and the first thing he saw move was the victim. Yeah, I won't hunt public land because I was raised that if someone shoots at you, it's only polite southern manners to shoot back and if I'd been the one who was shot, I would have certainly shot the idiot and then there's a bunch of paperwork and explaining to do.
Yeah, I won't hunt on or near public land either. Besides having been shot at, relatives have told of their deer being stolen from them at gunpoint when they went to load it into the truck.
i always say, i do not fear a gun that is on its own, empty or in the hands of a well trained person, i do, however fear them in the hands of children and morons. of course, we never know how well trained someone is, which is why i always consider anyone handling them to be morons, until proven wrong.

Based on the surroundings and the gear the guys who were hunting had, it's very possible that they were hunting turkeys. In which case you can't wear orange, because turkeys can see color and have really good eyesight. It's often compared to a person looking through an 8x scope.
It was probably a stray buck shot that just missed the target ik you don’t hunt turkey with buck (or at least I don’t) but just seeing how the pant legs reacted it was a decent projectile or they could of used a slug and it went straight through and the wrong place at the wrong time percipients just received it

As a gun owner and enthusiast, I have to say along with practice its always good to see such videos. Not paying attention for a few seconds or minutes can change your future permanently.
I appreciate how often you reiterate the four rules of gun safety. I grew up with guns, but any rules were never really articulated that well. We were taught some of it--especially to consider a gun always loaded, and that guns destroy things. But the four rules are pretty cut and dry, and I prefer that.
I have held jobs where I had to carry a rifle since I was 19. At 21 I was allowed to carry a Glock 17. Even today over a decade later I carry a little apprehension just so I can make sure myself and my partner are safe. Anyways great video and thank you for the awesome content.

The RSO in that gun range video was extremely emphatic. He was taking no chances on that fool, firmly clamping his right hand down onto the counter until he was ready to snatch the firearm away.
Reminds me of the story where a Polish guy goes to the DMV to get his drivers license. After completing the written test he's asked to do the vision test. On the board are the letters SZYMCZYK. The instructors askes" Can you read those letters?" The Polish guy replies" Read them! I know the guy".

Prawo Jazdy had 50 identities in the Irish Police records, surely Prawo Jazdy was a master criminal, then someone finally realized Prawo Jazdy is the Polish for "Driving License".

I remember an old biker once told me "you need to have little fear of the bike to respect it" same goes for firearms. Like a bike, fast car or even a dangerous power tool you need to respect it and have that little bit of fear at the front of your mind for what it can do.
It wasn't just a granade launcher... it was fucking RGW-90 and he is still alive only because the projectile was smarter than him and pierce through the flor instead blow up the user. Greetings from Poland
It may be worth noting that RGW stands for "recoilless grenade weapon", which is why it could be called a grenade launcher. Admittedly the RGW designation is technically wrong since it doesn't fire a grenade, its a rocket powered adjustable warhead. Admittedly grenade seems to be used interchangably for the warheads of light infantry rockets (RPG for example).
@prymus141 on further research IT WAS a rocket. id love to have a few but other than a trip to a tank graveyard to test one. the rest would be saved for a time they might be useful
After range training in the Marines I realized that people can make serious mistakes even when they’re highly trained and supervised by true experts. Then I attended the police academy and wow it’s clear that there’s a huge difference in people who served and were trained by the military and people who went to college. I never thought there’d be that many people who knew nothing about firearms safety. Take training seriously.
And this is the reason why even having fun with guns, always be safe. Also, always continue to expand your knowledge on firearms. Like they say, knowledge is power.
As someone from Poland I will say this: A) The General is damn lucky B) His wife got a cleaning robot so in Poland we are waiting for a mine to explode C) Apparently the General fired a MATADOR grenade launcher which broke through the wall and exploded in the second room. (if you think the general's name is hard to pronounce, know that we had a fictional character named Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz)
In Polish media the story was reported as: "the damage after the explosion is on three floors of the building (...) and the holes in the floors "are round in shape" and "about the size of a dinner plate"." According to his story he only moved the launcher from one place to another and second later there was BOOM!. But that story also do not sound accurate, he would not be able to move in 1 second to a distance that would give him a chance to survive that explosion.
If I'm not mistaken, @5:26m, I'm almost 100% sure that's the time at the range in Makati, Philippines where 2 guys (at least one of them) is a Mainland Chinese National. A lot of them (a lot) shoot there (a lot are 1st time gun "touchers") and make sure they get their Social Media Gram photo points.
Last year I had my first experience with a firearm, a .38 special revolver, I was kind scared of the recoil at first, but I griped the revolver a little better and shot again and again, by the end of the day the rcoil was less than it was at the start! The RSO with me is a friend of mine, he helped me.
Everytime you say "I know I am going to hell" I always think: "Cool fan-meetup!". I wonder what darwin actually would have thought of this video-series... I'm sure he'd had loved it.
Any time someone tries to say "I've shot a gun before" to me as some kind of qualifier that they're competent, I immediately don't believe them. A close buddy of mine said this to me when I handed him a handgun that I just cleared. Bless his heart, his method of trigger discipline was gripping the entire grip with his index finger as well and he was clearly too afraid to rack the slide. He knew to keep his finger off the trigger and keep it pointed in a safe direction at least, but I knew he was puffing smoke with that disclaimer.
My dad and grandfather taught me gun safety with water guns when I was a kid. As a teenager my cousin taught me how to use airsoft guns. And as a grownup whos never touched a real gun, should I ever pick up one you can be certain I will not treat it as a toy. I will be in control and I will make sure to have no accidents with the killing tool.
The guys hunting are turkey hunting, and since turkeys aren't colorblind, you can't wear blaze orange (safety orange) or else you'll be spotted a mile away. This is where knowing your target and what's beyond it is incredibly important, more so than it already is.
In the Bundeswehr or rather any Modern army for that matter teaches you to always expect the worst unless you checked for yourself, until you did that, the Gun is Loaded, safety off and the person holding it knows how to point it at you and pull the trigger. And to never step in front of a gun, point it at anyone, and check for safety.
The US taught that as Gun Safety for general citizenry until liberals absconded with the term for disarming innocent civilians. Still gets taught, but less frequently.
@@SnailSnail-lo4pm Kilroy meant that to the left gun safety has nothing to do with education. The left thinks that gun safety equals disarming the population, which is not what it actually means.
@@SnailSnail-lo4pm They literally changed the meaning of the phrase "gun safety," which was a phrase meaning "the safe handling of firearms" for decades. This wasn't a 40mm grenade launcher, it was an anti tank one. Along the lines of N-Law or something. That's why when it discharged, it punched through two floors. The general got deafened for a while. When it happened in my beloved country , I knew it's gonna end up in Brendon's video - I wasn't wrong, hahahaha :D
yeah and fortunately it didn't reach far enough to arm, otherwise most of the building would probably be dead. Szymczyk got mostly deafened by the blast of the launch, and some security got rubble on his head, if the info is true. A lot of disinformation around this fact is going on, mostly by the gov trying to silence the disaster. Even fire brigade was forbidden from coming.
@@tomclanys Exactly. The fact that the government was trying to cover this scandal and fool the public opinion just shows what kind of primitive people we have chosen, I mean - not me cos I didn't vote for these idiots :D If the general had any kind of moral standards and honour he would immediately quit his job after that incident. Many years back, hunting turkey in the back 40 of Ft. Campbell, I had my decoy obliterated by a “lost” hunter who managed to wander into my assigned area. I had a sitting hen with a standing Jake set out about 30 ft in front of me in a little opening in the woods, heard a loud gobble from my left, started to answer and boom. Even had my orange vest wrapped around the tree I was sitting against about 5 ft up. Dude figured out what happend and booked it, I got back to my truck before him, followed him back onto main post and I was able to flag down an MP. Scared the living shit out of me.

Sometimes, you just get a feeling that a bad case of stupid is about to break out.

I like how this series teaches gun safety through real cases where people aren't as aware as it'd benefit them to be.
Genuinely learned something today, thank you!

@@teresabenson3385 yeah my dad when he was a kid shot a massive 6x6 rocky elk. When him and my grandpa found it some out of state guy put a shot into it after the elk was well dead and was calming it because our state has a law that says who ever put the last shot in it's their animal, most people don't follow it especially if it's a kid. They let it go cause the guy was being aggressive and messing with his rifle. Luckily since it was a small community the whole area found out and wouldn't sell anything to they guy and his friends even apologized to my dad and said the guy had to find his own way home now.

I’ve only ever handled a proper firearm twice in my life in my early 20’s and knowing exactly what I’m doing both times it’s still terrifying knowing the damage one mistake can do. Thank you for sharing and teaching sensical gun safety.
Mr Herrera all i have to say is i love how you keep the subscribe note super short instead of explaining what it does like everyone else begging for subs does
Based on the surroundings and the gear the guys who were hunting had, it's very possible that they were hunting turkeys. In which case you can't wear orange, because turkeys can see color and have really good eyesight. It's often compared to a person looking through an 8x scope.
Definitely turkey hunting, if they were deer hunting, he wouldn't have a hip.
I think the turkey calling gave it away that they were turkey hunting….
It was probably a stray buck shot that just missed the target ik you don’t hunt turkey with buck (or at least I don’t) but just seeing how the pant legs reacted it was a decent projectile or they could of used a slug and it went straight through and the wrong place at the wrong time percipients just received it
They were turkey hunting I remember watching that videos years ago. If I recall the incident involved someone shooting across a property line because he saw the decoys and heard the calling and thought it was an actual turkey
There is a turkey fan decoy behind them and the guy shot over property lines lol. Would have to be a complete idiot because gobblers don't make hen yelp calls. Then again this is the Darwin Awards show
6:05 I love how the RSO immediately slams the guy's hand down onto the table and puts a hand on the back of his neck. Probably saying "nah bro, you're done, GTFO". 🤣

Reminds me of the story where a Polish guy goes to the DMV to get his drivers license. After completing the written test he's asked to do the vision test. On the board are the letters SZYMCZYK. The instructors askes" Can you read those letters?" The Polish guy replies" Read them! I know the guy".
there was a story in Ireland of the worst driver, a Polish guy called "Prawo Jazdy", was getting speeding tickets all across the country, but the police could never find this Prawo Jazdy, he always had a different address, he always looked different.

Greetings from Poland
he was like russians doesn't need to kill us we are going to do it our self xD CHAD
No kill like overkill! If you gonna fuck up, do it properly.
Did you just steal the comment bro 💀
It may be worth noting that RGW stands for "recoilless grenade weapon", which is why it could be called a grenade launcher. Admittedly the RGW designation is technically wrong since it doesn't fire a grenade, its a rocket powered adjustable warhead. Admittedly grenade seems to be used interchangably for the warheads of light infantry rockets (RPG for example).
Are your country men signing up to needlessly die on Ukrainian soil, or are they being forced into it by “leaders” like this?
I'm from Poland and the "general" actually blew a hole in the floor into the office bellow🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As a Pole I laughed especially at that first place :D

And this is the reason why even having fun with guns, always be safe. Also, always continue to expand your knowledge on firearms. Like they say, knowledge is power.
As someone from Poland I will say this:
A) The General is damn lucky
B) His wife got a cleaning robot so in Poland we are waiting for a mine to explode
C) Apparently the General fired a MATADOR grenade launcher which broke through the wall and exploded in the second room.
(if you think the general's name is hard to pronounce, know that we had a fictional character named Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz)
"Gregorz B. writes in to ask....should I fire a grenade launcher in my office?"
But did he bring the WOK? That's the real question here, cause if not, Lil Yachty lied to me.
In Polish media the story was reported as:
"the damage after the explosion is on three floors of the building (...) and the holes in the floors "are round in shape" and "about the size of a dinner plate"."
According to his story he only moved the launcher from one place to another and second later there was BOOM!.
@@misterkillroy2952 tf does this mean??? It's not bad advice because the other side uses it.
@@SnailSnail-lo4pm Kilroy meant that to the left gun safety has nothing to do with education. The left thinks that gun safety equals disarming the population, which is not what it actually means.

As a Pole i love that General Bazooka has been mentioned here. But you need to know that his way of defence was that he thought that the launcher was a bluetooth speaker lmao
He didn't obviously, claiming he's a victim - how pathetic :(
Many years back, hunting turkey in the back 40 of Ft.
As a Polish guy it's so sad for me that the uber-chief of the Police can shoot a granade launcher and not only not be faced with any charges, but also be labeled as a victim, while a regular guy like me cannot even buy a Glock without hella paperwork.
