Following on from my recent video where I had been having issues with High Powered Charging, in this video I’ll update you on what the final conclusion was on the issue.
I would only be confident they have fixed it if they took it for a long drive so that the battery warmed up and then they didn't have the issue! Fortunately I haven't had this issue yet but then again I only charge at home 🏡 Thanks for the updates and looking forward to see what you replace your ipace with. 😊
I've got the dreaded traction battery fault, and I ocassionally got this error message as well after HPC... Going to Jaguar soon to have it checked out, hopefully they'll solve all my issues without me having to come back multiple times. They've been really easy to deal with on the phone so far, so I have high hopes, but hearing all the stories on the forums of course has me a bit worried still... Thank you for all the updates on this issue!
I wouldn’t believe a word any Jaguar dealer tells me. It’s a great looking car and great to drive but the issues and how they’re dealt with is a disgrace.
I’m getting rid of mine this week. I’ve had a HV battery fault, a secondary battery fault and 2x cells that needed replacing. The service manager at jaguar told me the cars are dreadful and unreliable and advised me to get rid of it as soon as possible!
Touche, I had charging problems with mine and the dealer said they would require £210 just for investigating the issue. I reluctantly agreed and two days later they said the fault cannot be found and they require me to authorize another £1000 for two ev engineers to have a look at it. I decided to sell it
Biggest problem is the messages generated by weak 12v batteries, then the garages take the messages at face value value. This is affecting other makes. If you get odd messages, replace the 12v batteries with a decent make like Bosch.
I've the traction battery issue, loads of these have them, I'm hopefully having it fixed under the 8 year warranty or 100,000 miles, then it's gone, there nothing but trouble these cars, give it a wide birth
When my IPace had this message several times, after a couple of low battery fixes it ended up some months later needing a new front motor. Thank goodness for warranty otherwise cost £8000.00!!! Loved driving this car and my wife has enjoyed the ride but at end of pcp the ballon payment is so out of sync with real value we’re out. So enjoy your IPaces but we’re going elsewhere.
Had the same fault code, mine required battery renewal, sub frame renewal and another 3 months in the garage. So far in 2 years and 4 months the IPace has been in the garage for 8 months!
The car is 6 years old with only minor mods made and nothing to the battery or motor design. If Tesla stood still for 6 years they would be out of business. Let’s hope they have something in the pipeline that is far better to replace it.
I call BS on that. Not on your part. Software is not going to cause that issue. The High Voltage System Fault Message appears when there is a Isolation Fault detected by the BECM. Not to be confused with Traction Battery Faults. That's usually a Deviation fault from one or more of the 36 battery modules in the HV battery pack. Isolation meaning resistance faults in any on the HV components throughout the car to include HV cables, 3 phase cables and battery cells that are "bleeding" voltage.
So I've just had the Traction Battery fault message for the first time since ownership. It's a Jan 2020. Are you saying this fault is due the the smaller 12V batteries in the car or the underlying issue is the main battery which will eventually result in the High Voltage issue?
Most likely it's due to one or more of the 36 modules inside the HV battery pack assembly under the car. JLR is set to issue another major recall for all 2019 IPACE's in mid October. At least in the US. I'm not sure about overseas. The recall will be in two phases. Phase 1 will update the BECM to bring the Charging rate to 80%. The second phase is in the works. Most likely entire HV battery assembly replacements for phase 2. However their supply on those are limited and most likely they will offer buy back options to customers in lieu of replacing entire HV battery assemblies. I would in the mean time get your traction battery warning light diagnosed and repaired.
Yep I wouldn't believe Jag. Sounds like an insulation fault. Moisture in the AC compressor for example can cause those symptoms. It's a real headache sorting these faults. I'm keeping my 2012 X351 which has been faultless and delivers 50mpg in pure luxury 😎

That message is generated by a weak 12v battery. Always replace the 12v batteries before following any of the messages

I have noisy brakes, they have tried to fix it many times, unsuccessfully and now tell me it's normal...really...disgraceful service .
@@pcorris2516get rid mate, it's a white elephant

I had this. Then the brakes failed in a car park. It’s the 3rd!! battery, very small one. Changed that and been fine since

I don't blame you, there a white elephant
Please specify which module was updated and to what version. This is very important. I also encountered the same problem.
I’m sorry I wasn’t given that information and I don’t have the car anymore.

If it wasn't for US government subsidies Tesla would be bust

If you have a 2020. It doesn't apply to the 2019 IPACE recall coming out,
@@DonaldCarpenter-ry6xdWhere did you hear about the JLR recall? Is it from a reliable source?

Dosn't sound very likley... more PR...
All the i paces are recalled.battery risk of fire
I had to sell my jaguar i pace. It became a brick. I later got an email from Jaguar offering to buy my car back.
Was it within the warranty period?
EV's? Not a great plan.
A bit late for ‘plans’ they are here.
