- On my way down to Florida I stopped in Pennsylvania at a secret roadcut to collect some minerals and fossils. I found some really awesome Devonian era sea snail fossils.

Awesome finds! So many beautiful fossils! The gastropods are definitely my favorite, I don't have any of that species in my collection.
Thanks, gastropods are pretty cool eh!
Love the gastropods, Aidan !!! Awesome spot there 😃👍!!!
Thanks Chad
Awesome finds. Man I thought the stromatolite I just received and showed yesterday in our live that we got from Lisa was big. Holy cow that was a monster. I love the gastropods and always love calcite.
Thanks, stromatolites can get quite big.
Nice stop, good to keep our rockhounding spots to ourselves. Thanks for sharing, safe travels!
Thanks, you do have to be careful who you share locations with seen one to many sites get ripped to shreds.
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching
Nice finds, thanks for sharing!

I haven't collected fossils in decades. If you walk down the banks of the Bonnechere River just outside of Eganville you will find a treasure trove of them in the limestone.
Yes I have heard about the fossils in Eganville
"giant ass gastropod" made me laugh out loud. I have crystaly lime/sandstone I found in MN, what would happen if I soaked them in vinegar? Is that a bad idea? Are there cases where dissolving calcite crystals is a good thing? would that make my agates prettier? thx :)
Definitely don't put the sand/limestone in acid that will destroy them. And yes there are cases where I use acid to clean specimens off, if for example the agates you have are covered in a ugly looking coating that you suspect that will dissolve in acid then it might be worth it. However always do a test piece 1st, one that you are willing to sacrifice, bc you never know if it will actually look better so best not to risk ruining a bunch of specimens and instead sacrifice one to start off with.
@@Ontario_Rockhound thank you!! I have rocks I collected from along the roadway & they are either coated with cement or look clean when wet, but dry to a matte white coating. would vinegar alone work? Thanks :)
I would be careful, treat one peice you aren't as attached to and see if it makes it look better before using it on other peices.
