Really glad you enjoyed opening it! Also the last fossil that you thought is a sea urchin is indeed a trilobite piece that I found last year. Also you might possibly remember having seen some of these fossils some time ago, if you don't remember it is also not a problem, I did send you the sea urchin images and the repair video of the crinoidstem a while ago ( sea urchin was a picture of an email and the crinoidstem was over on instagram) But really glad you liked them! You can also display them if you wish to!
Here is a link to my other socials and some answers to questions: linktr.ee/mamlambofossils My workshop is open to the public 09:00 - 13:00 on weekends and public holidays. It's at 1429 Main North Road, Waikuku
I am French and I love your videos, I also look for fossils but less often because I also have school. I find only ammonites, rostres of bellemnites and mussels but I always find it exciting. Thanks for your video and keep it up! 👍
The one long fossil appears to be the straight shell of a cephalopod. The one small mystery fossil appears to be a pygidium ( tail section) of a trilobite.
First processing in the new building, another great step forward. To manage echoes, drape a blanket or two somewhere out of shot to soak up the sound. Happy fossil hunting!
hi Mamlambo, thanks for sharing. When you find this kind of wood, is it possible to say what kind of tree it was ? It seems very brittle. Is it possible, as in all forest soils, to find fossilized insects or tiny springtails ?
I don't think this was actually from a forest floor, it was probably marine, but you would be able to find insects if it was indeed from a forest! Thanks for the question
I found a awesome cluster of fossil shells next to the coal mine near me. And at a construction site I found a bunch of ferns but they are in sandstone and they crumble easily.
It looks very similar to the kind of "log jam" deposit that is how i target material for wet sieving. Where a bunch of sticks and bits of wood accumulate in an ocean or river deposit often teeth and bone will also accumulate
If i can figure out shipping, would you like some fossil samples from Pennsylvania, USA? Specifically the valley and ridge section of the Appalachians and the area surrounding Snyder county in Central Pennsylvania.
Hi, we have loads of similar fossils to the thing you are holding up at the end in the chalk cliffs of Sussex. They are identical in size and shape although smooth all over. I thought we call them Echinoids.
@@petergwatts9037 It is, it was inspected, also I mean the one in the same matrix as the endoceras was (the red looking matrix), as it is a limestone that contains endoceras/orthoceras and trilobite pieces, Done some research also was at a museum helping out and a geologist looked at it and confirmed that it was a trilobite shield. I have a few of the trilobite tail shield segments and a book regarding the said material, so yeah. Just wanted to clarify. (sorry if it sounds a bit mean)
@@linuskorff4074 Not mean at all, just trying to help you sort it. I am still with the Mamlambo fella, Sea Urchin or Echinoid which I believe is different from a Trilobite, I am no expert though.
@@petergwatts9037 They are different, the fossil shown at 9:30 is the trilobite shield that I am talking about, i have a few larger ones and yes I did confuse my first one of them as well, as it was in a different matrix that can contain sea urchins/echinoids, it was found at the baltic sea, and the matrix is as old as the endoceras and no sea urchin that I know if has been found in that matrix.
I also think it looks kinda like a coprolite from a large herbivore. The shape and other structures in it look like the inside of one I saw that someone had cut in half, much larger but it looks very similar. What if it was it would be the biggest fossilized turd ever found! lol
$416?!! A month?! Jesus Christ y’all won’t donate a goddamn dollar to a charitable fund at the grocery store but you’ll spend $416 on a UA-camr?! Bro 💩
This is a common misconception that I once was concerned with. When subscribing to someone on UA-cam, it is not like a magazine subscription that you pay for. It is free with advertising you have to watch. No money, but regular notifications that new videos are up. Free.

Have you done a video tour of your workshop? I'd love to visit but I'm in England.
I am French and I love your videos, I also look for fossils but less often because I also have school. I find only ammonites, rostres of bellemnites and mussels but I always find it exciting. Thanks for your video and keep it up! 👍
What great fun, you solved a mystery and got a load of great presents! Well done. Love the shop. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒

Might be interesting to cut the "forest floor" into thin slabs then polish the slabs and put them in epoxy resin
Cool idea! I might have to do that one day!
So happy to see the surprises and all the Sea Urchins from before Sand-Dollars.. Thanks for sharing your treasures..
i love how found your self some low grade coal I've never really thought of it like that before
Thanks mate, I enjoy your vids, your curious mind is refreshing 🦘
Thank you for sharing this awesomely enjoyable video with us six stars brother
Thanks so much Joseph!

I love finding fossils in the most random places!
Cool saw 😍
Rubbin my hands like bird man. Hope its something good!
Thanks!
Thanks so much 😁 i appreciate the support!!
If theres plant material there may well be seeds and insects and larvae and all sorts of things not visible to the naked eye.
Good point! I'll take a closer look at it!

Oooh that is a great tip! I need to check this area out then!

I would love to see them, but shipping is expensive to New Zealand so please don't send anything that would cost too much

Yip! Sea urchins, they are beautiful!
@@MamlamboFossils The friendly fella who sent you it may be a little confused, definitely not a Trilobite.

1:26 clearly, you've found the Ent wives.
🤣🤣
Hahahaha somebody better tell Treebeard
Looked like a brachiopod
4:30
Ancient forest floor with carbonized wood.
Thanks!
I would consider it lignite as it still exhibits wood fibers.
Some of the fibers were from plants that were growing near the surface which confused it all!
❤How nice presents u get
Can it be a fossilized poop from some animal?
It's definitely wood material I think
