Do you mean ghosting? Have you tried setting it to 180hz refresh rate and the response time to very fast? I personally don’t use it for gaming so ghosting isn’t that apparent for the tasks i do 😅
@@chevlim no, I don't game either, I'm talking about image retention and possible burn-in from having a split screen from photo editing and website coding. Only had it for no less than 6 hours and it looks like it's burned-in already and worse than image retention. Gave it a night to see if it's image retention but the imprint is still visible so I'm more inclined to think it's burn-in which shouldn't be happening with a VA panel
Agree that VA panels should not get image retention and burn in issues that easily! Did a search online and found that some people do face burn-in/retention issues even on other monitors with VA panels. Have u tried contacting your distributor on whether it is a defective unit? I’ll be pinning your comment to let other viewers know about this, and will continue to monitor my own monitor for such issues!
@@chevlim yep, I've gotten the whole monitor replaced with a brand new one just now, will later test it to see if the old one was just a one off bad panel (which does happen) or if it's characteristic of this monitor. For what it's worth, was only able to see the burn-in on darker colours such as blue and grey, but for such a fresh brand new VA panel I did not expect this at all, I avoided OLED for this exact reason as it's main purpose was for productivity.
Very decent review. I agree with the statement that pursuit for color accuracy is secondary and only for people with a high budget. "Good enough" is best for most people I've watched the video three times to boost you in the UA-cam algorithm :D
Are you using mac? If yes, you will have to change in under the display section in your computer’s settings, not in the monitor’s menu. But also make sure that you are using displayport cable instead of HDMI, because maximum refresh rate for HDMI is only 100hz
It is decent for personal projects and school assignments, but if u are doing professional work, you might need higher end monitors with wider colour range!
Hello, I haven't faced any problems with this monitor yet, so far it is working great. I use this for video editing and script-writing work, the negative things are what I have discussed in the video: 1) dynamic colour range not as wide 2) lack of ports 3) VA panels instead of OLED or IPS However, I think the specs are still great for my needs, given the really affordable price as well
Hi bro I’m using a Mac M1 Air and I’m curious if it can support a 180Hz refresh rate with a DP cable. If it does, which DP cable should I get? Is it a DP to Type-C cable? Also, I’m thinking of KOORUI 34-inch MONITOR CAN YOU GIVE A COMPARISION OF IT with this one ? and i see models like Xiaomi G34WQi and Xiaomi G34WQ can you tell me the difference of these both. Thanks a bunch !
I’m using an M1 macbook air too, connected to a dock that has DP port. You can get a DP to Type C cable if you don’t have such a port. And based on Apple’s website, the M1 macbook air can support an external display with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz or 4K resolution at 144 Hz. Based on spec sheet alone, the contrast ratio on the Xiaomi is higher, meaning blacks will look darker than the blacks on the KOORUI. Xiaomi also 95% DCI-P3 compared to 90% DCI-P3 on KOORUI, but frankly this is not a big difference and will only be important if your work requires colour accuracy. The Xiaomi monitor can do higher frame rate as well, but that shouldn't matter because M1 macbook air can only do 144hz at most. The KOORUI does have a more curved screen though as it is 1000R while Xiaomi is 1500R (lower value = less curved). If you are looking for immersive gaming or watching movies, a more curved screen is better. And the KOORUI one seems to have some gaming UI features that the Xiaomi doesn’t have, but I personally don’t game so I can’t comment much the usefulness of it. The brightness level on the KOORUI can get much brighter up to 500 nits, while the Xiaomi is 350 nits. I think it comes down to whether higher brightness and a more curved screen is more important to you, or having darker blacks and slightly better colour accuracy is more crucial. I just looked at the specs sheet of the G34WQ, and I didn’t really notice any obvious difference! Sorry unable to give you a clear answer on that part.
@@chevlim oh Thanks for you valuable answer and which one would you suggest, i am not a gamer, mostly i work on writing the code and watch videos on it.
Then i think it will suit you because of the wide screen. Can open many tabs on VSC! But there’s another viewer who experienced image retention on this monitor when using it for coding. I haven’t encountered that even though i have coded on this monitor before. Just something to be aware about!
How are you finding the image retention? I just got this monitor today and in a few hours it's already showing bad image retention 😂🤦🏻♂️

Cool that you managed to get it replaced so quickly! Hope you can report back on whether the issue persists, that would be really helpful!

Yup it’s serving me absolutely well so far!
Wow thank you for the support!! 🙏🏻
thank you so much for the review, especially for the advice!
My pleasure :) thank you for watching!

What do you think of the Xiaomi G Pro 27i?
Thank you.. I like your video.. just subscribed your channel
Thank you for your support!! 😊
Hy can if sone got the monitor and connected it thro a usb c to db to an amd laptop . does the 180hrz work or its cappd at 100 th
Hi apologies I don’t have an AMD laptop so I’m not too sure about that!
Have you tried 144hz 10 bit mode? You can set 144hz in Nvidia settings tap on apply, 10 bit will appear. Can you see the difference?
Nvidia? I'm using M1 Macbook Air 😅
@chevlim, nevermind 😂
I just bought this recently but how do you change from 60hz to 180hz in the menu?
