Sounds great and reminds me of a mix of Kanto, Johto and Pokémon GO. But the real question is: "Do you really think that there will be 20 (or more) routes in Scarlet/Violet?"
I don't think so, especially since SwSh only had 10 routes, besides the wild-areas. Also, since it's confirmed that Scarlet/Violet will be open-world, I wonder if the region has any routes at all.

Wonder if routes are coming back since they’re starting mesh the world together. Maybe more leaning to Legends Arceus areas?

A middle ground would be fun, the world open to explore with some story barriers before you can go to certain places, but the routes existing as named places on the open map to knit the setting together between towns and cities. Unlike in prior games you wouldn't have to follow them directly if you don't want to.
Can't wait to see what they do, even if it isn't this. :P

Gen 4 = Gen 2 remakes
Gen 6 = Gen 3 remakes
Gen 8 = Gen 4 remakes
Gen 10 = Gen 5 remakes.
Since one Gen takes place every 3 years, Unova should be remade in 2025 and Kalos in 2031.
