    Very informative. Thank you.
    Summer is going to be wild for camping! If you are open to traveling a bit north, both Sierra and Shasta regions have abundance of destinations.
    Looking forward to more videos.

      Thanks! We plan on going to Shasta at some point. We've only been there skiing so it's going to be interesting to see it in the summer.

      @@ChargeSetGo Shasta is awesome. You'll love it in the summer.
      I'm sure it will be a packed itinerary for you, but if you're looking for ideas, Potem fall was a pleasant surprise during our last trip. Id recommend to check it out.

      Thanks for the recommendation. Always good to add more places on our list of places to visit.

    Wonder how do you like the overall ride quality? And whats the draw backs? We are thinking to lease one actually

      This is our first EV, 3 row SUV, and air suspension, so it's hard for me to compare the R1S with similar cars. Rides well in my opinion but definitely made to go off-roading. The only drawback is that all Rivian owners experience growing pains alongside Rivian! I get to experience the small issues and the fixes for them coming through OTA updates or at the service center. It's sort of fun for me but definitely not for everyone. It's rumored that a R1S refresh is being announced soon so it would be a good time for you to make a decision.

      I've heard from a service tech at my local service center that he thinks the ride quality is improved.
      In terms of comparing to other cars, we had a 2020 RDX before but it's just hard to compare since they are built for different use cases. I wouldn't depend on the R1S to have a luxurious feel per se. It's built more as an offroad monster. If I had to choose the R1S still wins.

    Over the last few months three different UA-camrs have reported trouble with Camp mode AC/heat failing to stay active overnight causing the cabin to get either very hot or very cold. Have you experienced any issues like this with your R1S?

    • @ChargeSetGo
      @ChargeSetGo  3 місяці тому +2

      It hasn't happened to me and we use AC almost every night we camp. Maybe it has to do with camp mode / Power on mode shutting off prematurely?

      @@ChargeSetGo That is great news! Thank you for the info. So you use Camp Mode in "Power On" mode? Just want to try to duplicate your results when testing first hand. Thanks again for your channel! Subscribed!

      We use 'Stay On' mode to make sure the car doesn't go to sleep and also so we can use AC overnight. Thanks!

      I had this problem during the winter and it sucked. Ended up doing a full system reset (not infotainment) and then a software update and it's been fine since.

      @@crispinhands7610 Were you using Camp Mode in “Stay On” mode when this happened to you? How often have you used Camp Mode following the need to reset after the failure? Trying to figure out if this is a feature that can be relied upon year round for travel and camping.

    Do they supply covers for the moon roof? Shad is always a problem on the westcoast. You are either under a tree and can't see stars out of your moon roof, or you are in a field, and blasted out by sun. Usually, it's a mix of both, with sun beams blasting holes in your skull throught the branches. Of course snow camping during ski season would be better with the sun, but without moon roof insulation, it would suck at night ...what to do ...

      Rivian does not provide shades for the glass roof but aftermarket ones go for $50-70. I use Heatshield ones right now but I'm testing out one from EVBase with a video coming soon. We kept the shades on all summer and probably will remove them soon as we approach ski season.

    Have you been able to rely on the Rivian hotspot in remote places? Is it worth keeping the power on just for the hotspot?

    • @ChargeSetGo
      @ChargeSetGo  4 місяці тому +1

      We always try our phones first and use the hotspot as backup. Definitely worth using since we usually have power on at the campsite.
