This was a fun watch with you. I love seeing you get so excited about a franchise that I love so much. I think I have a new appreciation of this installment, now. As for Beyond, YES, please watch it. While I enjoyed the first Kelvin timeline movie and it holds a special place because I saw it with my mom, who introduced me to Trek, and my sister, who never really watched before that film... Beyond is probably (in my opinion) the best of the trilogy. Not only is there plenty of action and cool aliens, it is the most original of the three. I don't know if they will ever do anything else with this timeline, but to me they were just starting to really develop their own personality and style with Beyond.

The second of the reboot movies, just like the second of the OG movies, introduced both Khan AND Carol Marcus (who, in Wrath of Khan, was co-creator of the Genesis project and mother of Kirk's son).
HOLY FRIGG I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! As the first one after watching these I immediately watched again. I think we need a Drink to every FRIGG by Jenn game!! I grew up on the old series and reruns and still love all three of these movies. They are more perfect than NOMAD! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Peter Weller(Admiral Marcus) isnt new to science fiction, either, given "Robocop," "Robocop 2," "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension," "Screamers," and "Leviathan."
like with t2, people who were not aware of the movie until after the ad campaigns got the best experience. actually, with this movie, it was internet chatter that ruined the reveal of kahn. and then jj abrams' team generated a lot of ill will when they didn't just hedge but lied and told people that it was NOT kahn. so everyone kinda spoiled it for each other. but you got the pure experience and while imo, it's not as good as the first one, it's pretty fun. just wish the ending were better... the reactor scene should have looked dangerous in a visual way. even the fx they used for spock's irradiation in wrath of kahn was better for heaven's sake!
Oof. Right in the feels re Red Shirt. They don't kill off Chekov, however the actor Anton Yelchin did die in a tragic accident between this film and the next.
First of all... Great ST-TNG uniform! I Luv this movie! This is my favorite in the series! Comerbach plays a great Kahn! Luv the parallel story to the original with a twist! I was wondering if you would catch on to the Spock /Kirk twist. Fun to see the tribbles play a part in the movie.🦁 By far this is my favorite! Almost forgot to mention how Awesome the soundtrack was in the movie! Need to hear you sing a little more or maybe the movie was to tense & exciting for you!?😁 Luv ya Jen ❤️💛
When these pre-se-reboot movies first came out, I had not yet seen Wrath of Khan. It's very obvious now how much that film influenced these first two J.J. Abrams movies.

Hi Mrs Murray, nice outfit. Looks good on you. I'm an old school treky and I liked this movie series fine. Anyway, I got chill when you said Chekov better not die because the actor, Anton Yelchin, did pass and way too young. I thought he did a great job in this role and who knows where his career could've led him. 😔

I look forward to catching up more on Sunday for Star Trek TNG, hopefully things will have improved a bit by then my friend.
Hey Jen, that Trek uniform looks good on you. Great reactions to these Star Trek series . 👍😃
OMG! We're already doing this one? I'm syked!
This was my favorite of the new Star Trek movies. That opening 10 minutes gives me chills every time I see it.
You gotta see the 4k disc version of this. They fill the whole screen with the scenes shot in IMAX
If you don't have a 4k player they have a Blu-ray compendium that also has the full screen Blu-ray in 1080p
Lots of fun watching you as always Jen. Keep ip the great work. Live Long and Prosper.
I love your work and enthusiasm! This is the best reaction I've ever seen!
I'm glad that you watched this after "Space Seed" and "The Wrath of Khan."
Peter Weller(Admiral Marcus) isnt new to science fiction, either, given "Robocop," "Robocop 2," "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension," "Screamers," and "Leviathan."
I think "Screamers" may be one of the most underrated Sci-Fi Thrillers of all time, and that's such a crime!
like with t2, people who were not aware of the movie until after the ad campaigns got the best experience. actually, with this movie, it was internet chatter that ruined the reveal of kahn. and then jj abrams' team generated a lot of ill will when they didn't just hedge but lied and told people that it was NOT kahn. so everyone kinda spoiled it for each other. but you got the pure experience and while imo, it's not as good as the first one, it's pretty fun. just wish the ending were better... the reactor scene should have looked dangerous in a visual way. even the fx they used for spock's irradiation in wrath of kahn was better for heaven's sake!
Lucky I missed the internet chatter
Again, a whole lot of fun watching this with you.
Oof. Right in the feels re Red Shirt. They don't kill off Chekov, however the actor Anton Yelchin did die in a tragic accident between this film and the next.
He did film the next film, but died a month before it was released.
I enjoy watching your reactions 😂
Thank You Jen!
I just have to say that star trek with Jen is the best thing that has happend. 😊
The BEST Star Trek reactions hands down! GREAT reaction, Jen 🖒🖒
Love the uniform choice. Thanks for continuing with the movies.
Did you notice that the Weapon Scientist was Carol Marcus, also played by Bibi Besch in 1982. ;)
Anton Yelchin died in 2016. Giacchino's "Klingon music" is underrated.
I unashamedly love Jen and unashamedly love this channel. I’m loving her enthusiasm when reacting to Star Trek. I’m looking forward to the day she gets to react to the Next Generation movies. (Or should that be Next Jeneration?)
I didn't really care for Into Darkness when I first saw it (although I really like the third one, Star Trek Beyond), but seeing Jen's enthusiasm and how much fun she had really made it such an awesome watch. I thoroughly enjoyed the the reaction to this movie, and it's really reshaped and improved my thoughts on the film.
Of all the Star Trek movies (the old ones and the new ones) this is my favorite. The homage to Khan was awesome (Cumberbatch was amazing) and the chemistry of this cast is outstanding. Great reaction.
He’s a fantastic actor. You see he’s a bad guy but he’s hurt, hurt people tend to hurt people.
Not feeling the best today and a dose of Jen made everything better. ❤
Hope you feel better!
