I am always amazed how most of those walkthroughs are 0.5-1 hour long while I spent months playing those games as a kid and usualy never managed to reach the ending (which didnt stop me from having much fun anyway).
@waynelarbalestier yeah Im aware. :) even without being expert Im currently playing on amiga emulator and also finished many games much quicker than in the past. Its just funny (and sad) feeling how for me as a kid games felt like lifetime adventures - and then I see them 30 years later finished in 40 minutes (even without serious speedrunning we know from modern titles).
Don't forget also that there's a ton of save states often used in a video like this, which you wouldn't have had when playing on original hardware. Those make many games far easier to complete and the length of the video is still only the absolute MINIMUM length of time that the game was played.
Would be too easy shooting with the mouse as one does in Walker!? 😊 The guns are never mounted like this on choppers right. I'm not an expert!. Awesome game though. Miracle games! Wonder what more games they did release and work on. These guys. 🎉@@DrBIeed
Its beautiful the first stage with the lakes, the pools and the waterfalls. And fire. Huhuhuh. Fire. never saw more than the first stage back in the day..
I think you kinda missed the stage name shown here: 20:02 Stage 3 Please fix this, okay? Apart from accidentally killing some hostages, not bad at all.
Awww, that was a very sad description about the development of this game indeed. Well, I guess you've got to give 'em credit for at least putting in the effort of 5 levels to give players _something_ ...
Aah yes the famous "chopper in a temple" levels typical 90s. With rooms so huge only giants would be able to use them. 😂 This final level feels like a try to change the scenery from the rest of the game btnit goes nowhere as it is just a small level, it really show the hellish développement. Sad seeing others succeeded in this kind of games like Choplifter... The strike series, even if they use another kind of view.

Because the person playing it is a expert gamer lol

So basically Choplifter!!
Nice gfx and sfx though.
Desert Strike meets Wings of Fury meets Walker.
Most like a Choplifter ripoff
Wings of Fury makes total sense. The bullets hitting the guys on the ground is very similar.
Except it's shoplifter 3

I love those amiga graphics. They are so unique and beautiful.
Most evil face on a "successful mission" game ending ever.

Have a happy new year AL82 Retrogaming Longplays
That ending O_o
If I remember correctly, you can shoot down the great cannon in the first level, from it's back
Love it Amiga forever 🤘🏻
Reminds me of cobra command on the nes.
Sick
Hmm GoG when is this coming out?
Amiga...... Give me back my carttage
Choplifter meets Jungle Strike
Feels a lot like those 80s action movies where one Gunship could do the impossible.

I wish that this game was finished by first dev team, if only it could avoid all that stir it would be much better game.
Why was it even named "Apocalypse" to begin with? Not much apocalyptic stuff is happening.🤔
I think the film "Apocalypse Now" is the influence and where the name came from.

Reminds me of walker
