50 Greatest Plays of the Mike Zimmer Era
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 бер 2019
- Decided to throw together a compilation of plays. These are (what I consider to be) the best plays of the Mike Zimmer coaching era (2014-2019). Basically the best of the last five years. I tried to sort them going from least greatest to greatest (any guess to which is #1?)
If I left a play out, I'm sure the comments will let me know. There were 80+ games to pick from I'm not perfect.
Follow me on twitter for more highlights, as well as sneak peeks of my upcoming videos!

Sean Payton mocking the SKOL chant before being beaten by the Minneapolis Miracle is PRICELESS!
O Absolutely
TripleAstyle1 A yea you right
@Ant P someone salty?
@Ant P Maybe you're still crying about the pass interference in that NFC championship game.
That's what you get for the helmet stomp on Jared Goff earlier that game and the bounty scandal in the 2009 championship game.
Karma is a bitch huh?
@Ant P he maybe a 10 year old white kid but at least his dad is still around.
"Adam Thielen, a wide receiver, is tackled at the 21 yard line." Man I love that quote.
little did they know he would become one of the greatest Vikings Wrs ever.
Dude had to earn his stripes and straight up turned into a zebra.
Yep, and now they just say "Adam Thielen"
Besides the part when he gets takled at the 21
I STILL get goosebumps from that last one!
midrangetorque every time. I was there and it was the greatest moment of my life
I can’t imagine! I was watching. What an emotional roller coaster that whole game was! My wife and I were exactly like everyone else in the Minneapolis Miracle reaction videos. In the dumps but still watching until the very end. Then jumping up & down screaming for 10 minutes straight! Hahahaa. Then rewatching it EVERYDAY for the next 30 days! Lol. That moment never gets old!! And technically, it was the 3rd of 3 Minneapolis Miracles...Kramer to Rashad, Favre to Lewis, then Keenum to Diggs. Regardless, it WAS a miracle!
@@andersswanson-lane fam I was there too! I almost sat down because I was so scared to see what would happen considering our history but for once we got the miracle!!
midrangetorque can we rewrite history and have the Minneapolis miracle to beat the eagles in the nfc championship instead 😫😫
Every single time my friend
Good to see Teddy had a few top plays.
The number of highlights Thielen has in insane. Guy makes nothing but big plays.
Can't leave out Harrison Smith either. Still the best at his position.
for a couple years there Thielen was absolute money. He was catching literally anything. Hopefully he can get back to that form.
AllDay28 2020 and he’ll be back over 1,000. I believe this will be his biggest year
Don't forget the hands of Kendricks
Im surprised lequan treadwell made it on here
I enjoy that you can basically tell what year each offensive highlight is from by seeing which QB is playing (for the most part)
2014-15 - Bridgewater
2016 - Bradford
2017 - Keenum
2018 - Cousins
The silver linings to being a Vikings fan... SKOL!
We might actually use the same QB again this year!
Though that one Bradford Pass to Thielen against the Saints, is from the one game in 2017 he played I think.
HDreamer you’re right.
And the Defense you need to guess off the quality lol
Tanner Larson It just demonstrates the continual carousel of QBs the Vikings have had because they can’t find a franchise QB that can play several years. Your year breakdown of QBs also coincides with a new offensive coordinator the Vikings have had practically every season. 4 different QBs, 4 different offensive coordinators. It would be nice to have some stability.
Adam Thielen IS RIDICULOUS. Most underrated receiver in the league by far. The kid is just incredible. Thanks for the video, Bill.
For sure
Love the inclusion of Kai Forbath’s field goal :) I remember being SO nervous before that kick with that insane game and the Vikings’ kicking curse, much less the fact that it was freaking Forbath booting it. We never should have let him go. So what he missed some extra points, he clearly had ice in his veins when the kicks mattered
Without that Kick, Diggs catch never happens. (obviously)
No power in his fgs
Could barely kick 47 yarders
He still made it. That’s all I ever ask for.
Yeah that was a mistake. He missed an extra point in preseason and that led to them cutting him for that horrible rookie kicker. Surprised He has n't played since but now that I think of it, he may have kicked half a season for the Dallas. On the flip side, the Vikings got Dan baile y and once back to 100%, he's been lethal.
@@LS-si5pe that kick by four bath was over 50 yards
That's a whooooooooole lotta Thielen highlights. Two of them when he wasn't even receiver! Yeah, he's ok i guess...
My favorite part is 00:01-13:47
It should be 00:00-13:47
Lol
Bro same
Funky coming in clutch. This video really shows how consistent Diggs, Thielen, and the defense has been under zimmer.
Even the QB play. Bradford, Keenum, Cousins, regardless of who it is they just seem to put up solid numbers.
@Big Reiner you mean the defense you lost to earlier this year 😂
We're fucked now
I saw the title of the video and I thought to myself "Well gee I wonder what number 1 could possibly be?" It was a real head scratcher for all of 0 seconds
SKOL Vikings!!! I will bleed purple till the day I die! I’m a teenage fan so the Zimmerman era is pretty much what I can remember well so this video was awesome! One of the best Viking highlight videos out there! I had the privilege of being at the Minneapolis Miracle and I will never forget that. SKOL to the bowl!!!😈
Planet Xay I was at the Minneapolis miracle too
minneapolis miracle turned into the minneapolis massacre the following week
Thankfully you don’t remember the nfc championship against the saints. Should’ve beat the team THAT WON THE SUPER BOWL
Skol to the bowl is a really great slogan
We are sleepers, but that’s alright... we’ll proof them wrong 🔥
Like it was gonna be anything else at number 1 😁
@Jar of Smegma lol someone is salty. Probably didn't even watch the whole video.
@Jar of Smegma *always a threat
@Jar of Smegma you wouldn't be salty if they weren't a threat, just saying my dude.
@Jar of Smegmayour acting like a lions or a bears fan rn. Both of which I have to laugh at if your saying vikes arent contenders
@Jar of Smegma That's why they won 2 out of the last 4 XD, clearly a troll.
4:30 Joe Buck with "the catch of a lifetime"... has no idea what's yet to come!
He was in his prime by that time
Anthony Barr's forced fumble against Atlanta is still awesome.
I swear I thought thielen was a one hit wonder but this man is so damn consistent its insane, Diggs too
Chad Greenway, damn I miss that guy.
A great defensive leader
I was at the game Diggs scored 3TDs vs chicago, The Minneapolis miracle game, and the Jarius Wright screen game. I guess I’m lucky...
Basically half of it is a Harrison smith interception compilation 😂👌
These Teddy ones making me emotional 😢😢
Me too. Every time I see a clip of him it reminds me of how shit he was and it makes me want to cry.
What he could've done with the Vikings, guess we'll never know.
I really enjoyed this vid but Stefon Diggs's other touchdown against tampa where he absolutely mosses the corner in the endzone is sooooo underrated, wish it was here near the beginning
Connor Eaton I know what play your are talking about, he got up there lol
I love how many of these are Kirk Cousin offense from last season. Makes me hopeful now that we had a good draft.
LINVALL carrying that INT all the way is probably the best one. That giant fat man ran his ass off. Need to mod the video at get him with the O2!
as much as watching a lot of these plays again made me happy, at the same time, how in the hell has this team not won a championship? this team is too damn good to have not won a fucking championship.
4:53 man I miss that. Just as soon as the ball hits APs hands he turns into a machine. Just spins around and takes off on em.
Thank you zim. Didn’t end the way we wanted but the years were fun for the most part. Skol
0:52 before Thielen broke out.. wow good memories
Chad Greenway slow motion TD return, vs. SD, over one of Peterson's best runs of his career? In the same game, home against San Diego?
Yes :)
It was greenways last season and it was the first time his grandpa got to see him live in a game if I remember correctly. So it had some more significance behind it
@@noobyploxers So it's Greenway's biggest moment but not one of the Vikings best plays under Zimmer
Well done. A Vikings fan born and raised and Minnesota and this is well made video. This I agree 100$% is definitely the top 50 plays of the Zimmer era. Well done good sir. SKOL VIKINGS!!
johnroosterrod65@gmail.com Itz Modern, I too, grew up in MN. When I went in the USMC in 1987, I will always be a SKOL! Now I'm at Trinka Davis Veteran's Village, in Carrollton, GA. I plan on getting released in 2022, and then I'll go back to MN, so I can hunt and fish for the last 3rd of my life! I think that Zimmer may get us to the SB in the next few years(I hope!). Semper Fidelis
Fuck few yrs how about this year it's either do or die
9:56 LOL this was one of my favorite moments simply because it was super funny. Barr, in his second year I believe, uses his speed and smarts to just pop out the ball from behind. HAHA That's when I knew Anthony Barr was a smart player.
Cousins to Diggs 75yd TD is why I believe in Cousins. The guy can get it done. Just give him some time in the pocket and a decent running game and this team is one of the best in the league.
#SKOL
johnroosterrod65@gmail.com George Bishop, I'm supporting Cousins too! I'm from MN, although I'm staying at the Trinka Davis Veteran's Village, in Carrollton, GA. I did think that the Vikings gave him too much money, but it's their choice, not mine... Semper Fidelis
john roos Yeah the money was definitely a lot, I just don’t like seeing people trash the guy for accepting a good deal. He did what was best for his family and when you actually take a look at his stats, he was pretty good last season overall. The defense took a step back, however. The line was also just wretched, which resulted in him having no run game to lean on. Should be better this year.
Coaches are right... year 2 is always the year where Players get comfortable and play better. Now our O line looks solid, run game will excel, staff is dope and if the D stays on top 5 our chances are great
Well we’re getting it done this year. Just ignore, the packers, the chiefs, and the bears games.
Man your videos make my days. Thx! Love my Vikes any time
A minute in and Thielen it already.
I wonder what the last one will.....”DIGGS! SIDELINE! TOUCHDOWNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!
I really miss Patterson, as a WR he wasn't that good, but as a kick returner and runner he is a beast.
Funkydunkleman for all-time Vikes highlights MVP!
We love you dude, we all love you.
Thank you, Funky! Keep doing God's work!
Seeing Chad Greenway's long TD recovery makes me smile. That was in his last year in the NFL too, he deserved that.
Awesome video, it's just too bad AP's run vs Denver '15 wasn't included.
thanks for giving kobra kai's go-ahead field goal against the saints the respect it deserves. wish we had just stuck with him, he didn't make me nervous whenever he lined up for a kick lol.
We are going to miss #19 so much !!!
Thanks Adam for so many great memories!!!
Fantastic work as always, Funkydunkleman! I confess, the main reason I had to see this was because I just knew you would include the Greenway Convey in this list :) ! What a perfect send-off!
Almost started crying watching this😂, So many memories
Theilen, Diggs, Kendericks, Rhodes, McKinnon, Sendejo, etc. It was such a young & fun, energetic group. Loved the Zimmer era.
WHEN COUSIN GETS PROTECTION 💯💯💯
Our line this year is
Darrisaw, Cleveland, Bradbury, Davis, and O’Niel.
We finally did it, we finally got Kirk an O line
Just clicked on this video. Gee, I wonder what #1 could be... Skol
Great Video-- this really made me happy. I love this damn team sooooo much! SKOAL!
Awesome so many plays that brought me tears of joy
Man it was weird seeing Adam thielen block that punt. It's crazy the amount of work he put in to go from a special-teams guy to a star receiver
Its crazy to see theilen go from special teams star to awesome wr.. dude put in work
Love this compilation. Such a good channel
I got goose bumps looking at these old highlights
Awesome mix of plays! I sure do miss Teddy!
Should’ve kept Teddy, taken that 87 mil for Kirk and given it to some O-line and let Cook run over everyone.
Me too. Teddy has more potential than Aaron Rogers did at this stage in his career
@@j.franklin21 Alright that's a bit of a stretch. I'm a Vikings fan but come on man. Rodgers is one of the most talented QBs ever to play the game. Bridgewater was never going to reach that level.
@@TheLordoftheRavens
It's a quote.. Rogers said Teddy is more prepared than he was at that time
Even though it was a game winning 2 pt conversion I don't think #50 should even be in the top 500 considering it was a preseason game
Maybe, but it was still fun to watch so who cares
They still play their hardest
This is how many times Harrison Smith got a pick-6

This is the best highlight of the bikes....ever...wait til this year, fellas, this team is a TEAM. Let's #skol!
Zimmers defense is Amazing
So glad you got Forbath's playoff FG. That was absolutely clutch for us.
I enjoy watching these old clips, my favorite plays are the ones that spilled beer at the time ! Lol
Ha ha. I knew what play this video would end on! Great job!
Adam Thielen and Stephon Diggs were the dynamic duo! I still get goosebumps seeing the Minneapolis Miracle, but I think my favorite highlight in this video was the Thielen punt block, scoop and score carrying a man on him to the end zone. Glad that beast is still on my favorite team.
Beautiful!
That last play still gives me.chills
After the season we've had this year this highlight real was nice to watch 😂😭
I have always loved and will forever love the vikings. That being said I do not automatically like a player because they are a Viking. Regardless of this there is almost no key starters and minimal players that I have actually disliked during the Zimmer/Spielman era. The locker room is always mostly humble and just proud of what is done and I don't have to worry about seeing constant tweets about how great they are or how they were snubbed. You never know what you are gonna get with the Vikings, but you don't really have to worry about a mad losing season either. To me its amazing fun and I am happy the color purple and Randy Moss were my favorite things as a child living nowhere near Minnesota.
Great vid! The Minneapolis miracle still gives me goosebumps...but then it’s followed by an overwhelming feeling of disappointment :/
We all knew what #1 was going to be 👍
7:03 the thing people don’t realize about that touchdown was that the Vikings were already going to win and the raiders threw an interception to Terrance Newman hence the touchback and the perfect 80 yard touchdown to rub in the faces of raiders fans and AP set a record for the fastest run in the NFL of 21 mph
I still remember when the fool that ran on the field was tackled by Van Exum. Priceless!
That last play still gives me goosebumps !!
After those big plays, you could see a 2 plus score lead so many times. Every game seemingly lately has been 1 score affairs. Us Skol fans want some easy one's once in awhile like you see here
Cousins throw at 7:35 is absolutely insane. Great grab by thielen too but goddam that throw was legit perfect
one of the best throws I have ever seen
Best 13 minutes of my day
13:08 that was my favorite thing about Teddy. Just threw a 83 yard game winning td and he's still cool calm and collected.
Teddy checked to that play to at the line of scrimmage which makes it that much more sweet
“Thielen! Catch of a lifetime!” Has like 30 other similar catches😂😂
i was able to predict every play as soon as its clip started lol. it's been a fun 5 years with the zim zam :)
Godamn we have had some talent over the past few seasons. Griffen was a beast. Theilens blocked punt. Our punt returners were 🔥
I LOVE IT!
Brings back lots of memories
This is the best video ive ever seen
Great vid!
Minneapolis Miracle , still the best moment in sports I've ever seen
Man Thielen and Diggs are so good.
That Thielen punt block is just amazing
Good video👍🏻
This made me happy
Love it Love it Love it!
The only thing that could make this better is finding Paul Allen's calls for these plays 🙂
Bears announcers are nothing but garbage compared to the Vikings' PA as announcer. SKOL VIKINGS!
What a servant Thielan was. And the hitman was/is so underrated. Genuinely one of the best safeties of his generation, if not the best.
10:05 they way he didnt even try to tackle him but just knowed the ball out perfectly
I was at the Minneapolis miracle
After this season you're gonna have a few plays to add :)
Chad Greenway is a true hero, jumping out his boat and saving a life on Minnetonka is nothing but a true Minnesota man!!
"Adam Thielen, the wide receiver..."
Doesn't need the qualifier anymore
Seeing that AMAZING Treadwill catch is something else man, all the talent, great athlete, phenomenal work ethic and person. Makes you wonder why he couldn’t translate to the league. Confidence?
That Cordarrelle Patterson touchdown run against the Rams is easily top five. Should definitely be ahead of that Greenway INT. Patterson broke seven tackles on that play (7 Rams got a hand on him).
This is Our Year, SKOOL !
That forbath kick is so sad, finally we get a clutch kick in a playoff game and it didn’t even matter in the end cause we didn’t play defense.
I love the clip of Barr punching the ball out of Coleman’s hands
You the man! Skol!
While the firing of Mike Zimmer was necessary, I don't think we can deny that he did have a pretty good run with the Vikings compared to the two coaches before him, Brad Childress and Leslie Frasier. He wasn't a bad coach, at least not at first. But as time went on, his play-calling became more and more cautious offensively, and that caution is often what costed games. Well, that and the offensive line wasn't worth much in protecting the QB. I wish Zimmer the best in his future in the NFL and I'm glad we now have what appears to be a very good head coach, Kevin O'Connell.
Looking back at how defensive players/units would just give up on chasing AP is something to definitely think 🤔 about.
