I’m all for the recliners! I’ve never been able to get really comfy on a sectional and then there’s always the parts of a sectional that nobody wants to sit in too. Room looks great!
Hey Ashley, I vote for the recliners. To me it's more practical with getting up and down to grab snacks, drinks, or going to the bathroom that way you are not disturbing others.
I like the recliners. I personally can’t get comfortable on a sectional to watch a movie and having the recliners makes it more of a true feeling of being at the movies.

Chairs for sure! I agree, you want your own zone. With a couch you kind of don’t have cup holders, which way to lean and getting up and down would be difficult and might spill food.
Ok love the movie room. I like the recliners, one comfy, two I have my cup holder, three, I like my own zone, four I can get up down for snack bathroom without disturbing someone else.
The walls look amazing. I understand the concept of tv size. It's very suitable for size of room . I'm not presuming to pick a style, but I have a friend that has a beautiful leather sectional in their movie room. It looks like a beautiful movie lounge. The sectional is upscale with cupholder that are hidden when not in use.
I suggest when the movie room is not in use open the two middle curtains with tie backs to let the light and nature in then when in use place them closed again.
My vote is for recliners. They go with the movie room vibe, are easy to clean (especially with teens), and have cupholders! Plus, if you want to lie down and watch TV, you could always just go to the living room on that sectional.
You were contemplating on the room and whether you are using it for the right purpose, you can always open the curtains when not using it as a movie room.
I love the vibe of both sectionals and recliners. For the asthetics and sleeping, I'm team sectional. However, overall, for a movie room, I'm team recliners. With recliners every seat looks at the tv. You can clean melted chocolate off of it easily. And while I'm watching TV, if I am completely lying down, I will fall asleep. A recliner is perfect for tv.
My vote recliners...true movie room, looks chic, looks comfy, creates experience, and easy to clean. My vote is with Chase!!! A sectional would not give the same vibe and would be a huge letdown...otherwise make it a family room where you can do anything in here including the sectional/pull out bed, exercise equipment or...watch movies. My vote is still recliners! Go Chase Team...:)
Love the way it is! Leave the recliners! If a guest stays over, they can still stay in the room! Just get an air mattress! They are very comfy now a days! Plus, why spend more and everyone in your family loves the recliners. Something to think about.
OK, if you’re gonna do the sectional, my question is, are you going to raise part of your floor so that they can see over anybody in front of them and again that would distort the fact that you wanted to be a bedroom? 😢😮😢😮 as you can tell my vote is recliners! And my favorite part is I love the way it turned out. It looks more like a movie room now.
i’ve given up trying to style our movie room (also iron ore). beyond the reclining furniture just being better to watch a movie, it’s the only room in which my husband really got to make the decor decisions.
I love the cozy sectional picture inserts! I definitely vote for sectional. I’m with you, I can’t fully relax or nap in my recliner, even though it’s a nice cozy Lazy Boy. Give me a couch 😂
The room looks much better with the wall color. A movie room needs to be dark imo… I would totally open those curtains on any given day when the room isn’t in use. What a view! 😍 We did have a projector in our old house but I say do whatever works for you. I’m sure the TV is big enough. Edited to say that I am all for the recliners if y’all use it for a true movie room. (I need a cup holder) 😊 A sectional imo is just a living room. Another option is something more “semi formal” in the main area & just use this as a cozy living room. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m sure y’all will figure it out.
I wouldn’t want to watch a movie without being able to lay my head back and put my feet up. So the recliners are a win for me! I do understand the sleepover thoughts though. Maybe have bunks in the back where the other couch is??
Love this home theatre, and like many, would keep the recliners. My friend moved and missed her theatre room,---her window had an inside mount automatic blind. It could be raised and lowered with a remote. It kind of added to the streamlined look, but your black out curtains are working great too. The upgrade frames, lighting etc all made for a first class update. Nice work to all.
They have cool double decker couches for that back wall. Then it could be used for overnight guests and height for back row watching. Or I’d probably do a murphy bed on the back wall for overnight guests.
I prefer the recliners. You’ve gone through so much to make this a movie room. Changing it to a sectional, just seems counter-productive. Also, some people have difficulty concentrating on dialogue while laying down, or falling asleep. I think the room is stunning.
We had recliners in our movie room and changed to couches that has 2 chases on each side and you can pull out the middle part. We absolutely love the couches better in the movie room. I can send you some pics if you like
I think the recliners make your movie room look very polished and elevated. I personally find recliners more comfortable when watching TV or a movie than a sectional. I also love that you have a place for your drink etc. The movie room looks fantastic!

I absolutely love the paint color! Have you guys thought about adding some picture frame molding on the wall and maybe some posters of your favorite movies to add a lil color on the wall?!
No sectional. It’s nice with the recliners. Sometimes on a sectional with others it may feel a bit uncomfortable trying to get comfortable if it’s adults that are not immediate family. I’m not sure if that makes sense but that’s just my thoughts.

Recliners all the way, its a movie room. You can get cozy in your living room. And you said it yourself,you have company over only a couple times a year that stay the night. Keep the recliners😊
I’m with you Ashley! As much as I love the recliners I love the idea of a cozy sectional. Especially if you have a raised section in the back where the recliner couch is. It would be sooo cozy💜
I’m watching this video late, but I vote sectional!!! Maybe look at Cozey? You can customize them yourself to the size and shape you want and have them send you the sample fabrics they offer to help you decide. My husband and I almost went with them but ended up finding what we wanted at Conns before we ordered a Cozey sectional. Loving the charcoal walls and ceiling!!!
I could not help but giggle when I seen the dogs laying in the middle of the room while you were moving furniture in and out. My dogs do that too! I can be putting a desk together or something or moving furniture and they want to be right there in the middle, lol. Too cute. :) I love the pillow "Reserved for the dog"!!
I really think that you should do a blackout Roller shade on that window. Rebecca Robeson uses them in her home in Tulsa and they look amazing and that way when you're not using that theater room you can have a beautiful view. 😊

Looks great!! We have that same style of the back couch just the 2 seatter ... Mine comes apart does the 3 seatter not ?? ... I want the matching single recliners ... We do have 2 black recliners but not the same style ... But new furniture is not in the budget right now ... We'll be in this house probably the rest of our lives so we have time to change things ... Stick with the recliners ... Just think the big movie theaters are putting them in ... You can definitely sleep in a recliner ... I used to before we got our adjustable bed ... I can't lay flat at all ... 😊
I love the idea of a sectional or multiple cozy couches for the guests that may need to sleep in there. I'd rather lounge on a cozy couch than a recliner. But, the recliners look great for a movie room, too!
Looks great, awesome job! If I were to be nitpicky, I would say move the garbage can from on top of the counter and put it underneath in the cabinet (that’s where we keep ours) but if it works best for you on top of the counter I would change it to a style that has a lid! PS, love the large, cozy sectional idea!
Love the re vamp, I am definitely with you a sectional all the way, I think it would look a lot softer, and then you can have the room as a multi purpose/ extra bedroom like you said, and I think that's using your space so much more wisely, but more so I just love the pics you put up of the ideas you had a for a sectional I just think it's gives off such a cosy vibe. 😊
I like the recliners. Maybe have Chase build you platforms at different levels from back to front, u would like it better. Everything looks flat and that’s what’s throwing it off.
The tower lights look like that alcove is where they should be! Your snack wall looks great and classy! I like the 3 2 1 posters better than a lot of colorful posters! The leather recliners are nice. Maybe when you replace the three seater in the back, you can get a super sofa that makes into a bed! I know its probably too late, but my neighbors had a large antique armoire that they wanted in their bedroom and it wouldn't fit through the turns that it would take to get it in. They had their carpenter take the main window out of the bedroom and got the furniture through that way, they had to do the same thing when they moved.

I have to agree with your husband. I like the recliners the best. Really, if you think about it, it will stay cleaner than if you were to put the sectional in there. Way easier to clean. I also like the new paint color. Great choice!🎉God Bless 🙌🏽
Love the dark walls & ceiling. Now it looks like a movie room. Love the lighting. Maybe a coulple of wall sconces on either side of TV. I like the recliners. Like you said, easy to maintain. If you go with sectionals, you're going to have to build a platform, like in your example. Very nice.❤😊
The paint made such a difference! And the frames and lights for sure look better. I would definitely leave the tower lights in the back, it balances the light and looks really cool. Also I am team sectional with the recliners in the back!
I love the way it came out. We had a full movie room the hubs and I built in the basement of our old house. Not so much here in FL…I miss it. Side note--I got a little chuckle at the turn of the hat--that’s how you know it’s a serious project 😂 My husband does the same thing when things “get real” mid project.
I say keep the recliners. Plus I think Chase is always such a team player in letting you take over how you wants everything else all the time I think it’s only fair to let him have the pick for this especially since he also lives here. Not being funny but just being honest.

Looks great!! We have that same style of the back couch just the 2 seatter ... Mine comes apart does the 3 seatter not ?? ... I want the matching single recliners ... We do have 2 black recliners but not the same style ... But new furniture is not in the budget right now ... We'll be in this house probably the rest of our lives so we have time to change things ... Stick with the recliners ... Just think the big movie theaters are putting them in ... You can definitely sleep in a recliner ... I used to before we got our adjustable bed ... I can't lay flat at all ... 😊

I love the idea of a sectional or multiple cozy couches for the guests that may need to sleep in there. I'd rather lounge on a cozy couch than a recliner. But, the recliners look great for a movie room, too!

Recliners are for movie rooms in my opinion. Love the tower lights I think the decor is perfect and enough.
Looks great, awesome job! If I were to be nitpicky, I would say move the garbage can from on top of the counter and put it underneath in the cabinet (that’s where we keep ours) but if it works best for you on top of the counter I would change it to a style that has a lid! PS, love the large, cozy sectional idea!

Love the re vamp, I am definitely with you a sectional all the way, I think it would look a lot softer, and then you can have the room as a multi purpose/ extra bedroom like you said, and I think that's using your space so much more wisely, but more so I just love the pics you put up of the ideas you had a for a sectional I just think it's gives off such a cosy vibe. 😊

I like the recliners. Maybe have Chase build you platforms at different levels from back to front, u would like it better. Everything looks flat and that’s what’s throwing it off.
The tower lights look like that alcove is where they should be! Your snack wall looks great and classy! I like the 3 2 1 posters better than a lot of colorful posters! The leather recliners are nice. Maybe when you replace the three seater in the back, you can get a super sofa that makes into a bed!
I know its probably too late, but my neighbors had a large antique armoire that they wanted in their bedroom and it wouldn't fit through the turns that it would take to get it in. They had their carpenter take the main window out of the bedroom and got the furniture through that way, they had to do the same thing when they moved.

I have to agree with your husband. I like the recliners the best. Really, if you think about it, it will stay cleaner than if you were to put the sectional in there. Way easier to clean. I also like the new paint color. Great choice!🎉God Bless 🙌🏽
The movie room looks great with the recliners! Much easier to watch movies and you have your living room for the sectional.
Love the dark walls & ceiling. Now it looks like a movie room. Love the lighting. Maybe a coulple of wall sconces on either side of TV. I like the recliners. Like you said, easy to maintain. If you go with sectionals, you're going to have to build a platform, like in your example. Very nice.❤😊
The paint made such a difference! And the frames and lights for sure look better. I would definitely leave the tower lights in the back, it balances the light and looks really cool. Also I am team sectional with the recliners in the back!

I love the way it came out. We had a full movie room the hubs and I built in the basement of our old house. Not so much here in FL…I miss it. Side note--I got a little chuckle at the turn of the hat--that’s how you know it’s a serious project 😂 My husband does the same thing when things “get real” mid project.
I say keep the recliners. Plus I think Chase is always such a team player in letting you take over how you wants everything else all the time I think it’s only fair to let him have the pick for this especially since he also lives here. Not being funny but just being honest.

IMO, recliners work best for dedicated home theaters. The recliners allow your guests to get comfortable to their needs and place for their drinks.
