Slightly fast...starchy feel. Very good guitar player. Great feel/tones/pitch...mostly stays in the Albert zone nicely. Annoying keys...not greasy enough for my taste. Vocals a bit affected but a decent singer. Needs to live a bit longer and harder.
Almost too perfect! - looks like it was filmed as part of a movie. Very authentic. This dude is so authentic he doesn't need a plectrum and leaves the bridge pickup cover on his tele.
Remarkably Guy King is a expert musician and vocalist... This song defines the balance from yester year to today. Guy has defined a musical highway, and a permanent direction of the blues guitar... I consider Guy King to be the best of the best...
I've also just found out about this incredible musician. Boy can he make a guitar weep. Gave me goose bumps. And looking at his other videos, he's also got very interesting jazz phrasing. Thank you Mr.King!!!
Very very nice, heard this about a hundred times in less than a week! Very nice talent, and definitely a good inspiration. im only 17 years old, but i have my own blues band where we also play a bit of Albert kings tunes, so it's nice to get hear the song in a new perspective!
Guy, I knew Albert for a few years before his death. My first gig as a guitarist was with two of his band members outside Crawfordsville Arkansas at Sumpter's Grocery country store where Albert frequently stopped for BBQ/pool hall/gambling. I knew Albert's style to be so unique and rarely duplicated to the tee. I have known only one other that was worthy to be named King and Albert adopted him as his grandson, so Manuel Gales became the late great Little Jimmy King from Memphis TN. Through my friendship with Jimmy and his twin brother Daniel, Jimmy introduced me as the newest member of his band while setting in on one of his regular nights at BB Kings club in Memphis TN. I played back up guitar for Jimmy for 8 years up until his death. I've heard many guitarist's since and NO ONE has played in true form or feeling to Albert's style until I saw this video. You definitely have it, my hat goes off to you.Keep it simple and real and keep wearing the suit's..Albert and Jimmy both wore while playing the blues.Truly professional appearance. I don't know if King is you real name or not but I have cast my vote for you to carry the torch behind Albert and Little Jimmy King. Carry it well.
Thank you 🙏 I actually switched to the Gibson ES-335 since then and I personally like it better. It allows me to sound more the way I visioned my sound, more me.
Guy, just found out about you tonight - on the Les Paul Forum, thanks to a post made by someone there showcasing you at Norm's guitars. Bought album instantly. YOU are what we needed. Been a long time, but a *true* guitar hero and *authentic* blues player was what this country needed. Phil Olivieri - SoloDallas, San Diego (I now need to see you live).
No, thank you - we were dancing to your music 30 minutes ago in the car - my entire family. It was Joe Bonamassa also pointing us to you - so you know there's another brother blues player into you. There's a bunch of us digging you - loving it. You take good care and I look forward to seeing you live when you come to SoCal. I'll be there. Take care, Fil
Beautiful tones, you could almost taste those bends, so soulful, your like a master chef mixing up a musical stew in your Kitchen Mr.King. Keep up the great work, i'm always listening to you :) Much respect.
Sheeet, that was some of the tastiest Albert King style playing I've heard. Your precision and phrasing are brutal, tone, while not trebly as Albert's, is pure sweetness. Lookin' forward to hearing more from you. Thank you for an inspiration.
Man, I am totally feeling that authentic Albert King sound in that great finger picking and attack you do. Awesome work! Great sound quality and camera work too, a really nicely produced video.
Mr Guy King, I discovered you today via Norm's rare guitars' video, where you jammed with Joe Bonamassa and played some tasty licks. Since then I checked out most of your YT vids. Man, you are awesome, a true living legend, a master. I've become a massive fan of yours and gonna get all your albums sir. :) Please keep on playing the good old blues!
7:21 the genuine music fan, starts to dance in his seat and claps. 7:23 his friend tells him to stop, open expressions of joy are not the done thing in this venue
Good music👍c'est un français qui vous le dit ! Très peu de commentaires en français dommage je ne parle pas anglais, j'aimerai vous lire ! Très bon 👍📖♥️
@@guyking1 WOW! I did not expect a response, thank you! I would have guessed a Fender but I was thinking perhaps a Twin! Sure sounds great, love your cover! Pro at every level, arrangement, Guitar work and vocals!
I dig the long hair and sharkskin after only having seen you in your L.A. casual look. Great rendition of this tune. ...also love "Drown in My own Tears" w/ you doin' your Ray Charles... really cool. (unable to comment before) So I'll bet you have some more trip looks for me to look forward to... Keep on playing as beautifully as you do and... cheers

A man called Guy King couldn't have been born for anything else but the blues.
Probably not his real name.. he is born in Israel.😂
That drunken stagger the way you dragged out the notes at the end was so spot on😎💙🖖

There is no bad sign without dissonance and harmony! Great performance from start to end! You grave for a full version of the concert!
Love the blues I could listen to good blues for hours, especially Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Jonny Lang, etc.

Wow, what a sound mix!!!
love the lead style, talking with the guitar without a deluge of notes, and lots of space. The horn section are excellent
Awesome! I think Albert would like you!
How great is this band?!
one of a kind
I love the sound and playing here. Wish he would play that guitar today.

in all his videos, he seems to tweek knobs more than he plucks or strums - and somehow, it creates the sound that is magically Guy King
Guy, your licks are so sweet and when you add in the same notes Albert would it just makes it whole 🤯
Caught Mr. King at Fitzgerald's last night - great show! He is worth checking out, definitely!
This 'Guy' is a stud!

I guess it's too many years too late to ask what amp he was using to get that sound???!!!
I was playing through my Fender Quad Reverb (2 of them actually, one of each side of the drums, but I think only one of them was miced for the video).
