Great kit Michael. Well done presentation. Thanks for sharing. One thing I learned from working on my old Honda Accord is that I need an extension for my 10mm ratchet. I’ve been wanting the Knipex for awhile now. Great assortment of 1/4” bits and great storage solution.
Cutting those Knipex down would have been imposible for me to comprehend years ago. I am so glad that I am past that mindset now, amazing idea! Next the 8mm/10mm ratcheting wrench is so useful! Thanks
Awesome kit man! Super excited to make my own. Really appreciate the variety you have and the ability to do many things with the same tool. I'm probably going to make mine a little smaller, at least to start because I'm not always fixing stuff. But I always have some sort of bag on me, wheather it be my backpack or sling.
monster kit my man! love it and damn sure thats not all i got!i usuaually jump start people, inflate tires or the big one auto lock out. lock out is the saviour
Nice Kit Setup! Klein Tools also has a 32933M 6-in-1 Impact Socket Set Features 3 Flip Sockets, 6 Metric Hex Sizes 7 mm to 14 mm. I have both the Metric and the standard and they work great.
Not sure how much extra space a Knipex would take up. You've got a set of cobras in there. You could probably get a 125 or 150 pliers wrench in there. Theyre so much more versatile than the crescent wrench. You can grab, pinch, straighten, etc. It might fit well if you put both those pliers on the corners with the jaws facing inward, and it will contour the pouch. Oh i forgot... pocket prybars are super handy as well.
Looks great and some ideas im going to use thank you!! Side note i dont know about others but i prefer longer videos (30 mins) or longer. I find i get more out of them 🤷♂️ Thanks again cheers 🍻
I have the Icon version of that Vim, but I like the shortness big time, plus I don't think anyone should need the extra torque with something that small anyway. The bits with the Icon are worthless, the case is great, and warranty exchanges would be 100% with a Harbor Freight around. Those Klein flip sockets are indispensable if you work in HVAC. With this setup, you could probably ditch the Vimm altogether. If you needed extra torque on the Pittsburgh as a screwdriver, you could just use your Crescent wrench on the flat section. This is a great set of tools thoughand I may now build something like it as an ultralight diagnostic kit for my HVAC work.
Great video bro. I'm tired of seeing $1000+ EDC kits with high-end everything. Not everybody can or wants to afford a kit like that. And cutting down the Doyle's is a great idea (wish they offered a 5 inch model). How short did you cut yours? Harbor Freight for the win!
Have you seen that little harbor freight 1/4” ratchet bit set? I managed to buy one online and that little thing is the coolest. I wish it came with a few sockets but it has the capability to take any 1/4” socket. Check it out. I think it’s 45 bucks at the moment so a little pricey.
@@AstroVanTribe sorry. I was doing dishes while this video was on I need to re watch it and pay attention. I’ll rewatch it now and keep my ear out for your take.
@@AstroVanTribe ya I skipped the opening part of the video while you were driving. I guess you didn’t like the different features the icon set had. I thought it was a clever little set with the extension/T handle thing it had going on. Definitely like your video though wish I could two thumbs up on UA-cam.
@@mumfordalien1794 The Vim version it better because it's longer, check the videos before that one as I compare all three - I already had most of the bits as most people do - The ICON set is neat, nice box, but it's gimmicky - Just get the vim version and put your own bits/drivers/sockets together
@@AstroVanTribe jajajajaja I actually going to steal you genius idea to use a piece of hard wire to store your sokets... :) tanks for your answer by the way...
Used it again today on my starter while I was doing my compression test - Oh, wait, there's MORE... 5 hours working on this thing today when all I wanted to do was a compression test....
You can do that Klein flip socket on the vin ratchet can you not. So you can save space by getting rid of that swivel socket head it doesn't do anything the vin wratchet can't and the vin wratchet can do more has a t handle set up and everything. With the space and weight you save you can get some Kuh-Nye-Pex cobras. Ma you're gonna be so upset when you get some of them 😂 youre finna e shit mad you didnt get them sooner. I recommend the pipe vise micro 5. It's bad ass. Get rid of the icon and get real knipex cobras and the pipe vise micro 5 you won't be disappointed.and the knipex wrench pliers. And a snap on 400 torch. And the make those knipex pliers huge all the way down to very tiny. and a lady's foot pry bar or something like that. And a pair of Klein electricians scissors. And some knipex mini bolt cutters. Ànd exacto knife or razor knife and extra blades. Otherwise I think it's awesome. It's awesome already but those mods will not disappoint you sir. And replace the flashlight with a head lamp or simply add a head lamp. Gives you hands free options and direct close light on exactly what you're trying to look at.

it's a more acceptable idea when its a Doyle and not a Knipex lol
Wow! Impressive load to be organized into a Maxpedition Mini!
Awesome kit! I've been searching for that VIM 1/4" Flex Socket Ratchet kit online for a couple weeks and it's back-ordered everywhere!
I found mine on eBay - Not a "kit", just the ratchet, "T" extention and hex-to-1/4" drive insert

You might want look at the Wera Zyklop pocket ratchet set if you haven't already.
I love it. The price is ridiculous but for my use case it's so worth it
Hello could you tell me where you got that magnet on a stick. I have bought a couple different ones and they are all terrible yours looks more sturdy.
Harbor Freight

I didn't measure, I just cut them to fit the kit - It worked out great, I use this kit and them pliers pretty frequently
Are you not missing something like wire, zip strips, glue, band,…?
That's hardware I keep in another bag
hm, and no one blade?
I always have a locking folder and Swiss Army on my person

I’m hooked on tool reviews 😂
Nice kit get you a leatherman multitool you won't regret it
I've got many of them, the originals in other kits
Give the bits in the tin space to rattle till you put double the number into it.
My kit is pretty near identical to yours.
Where can I buy the case you are using?
