Agreed, people typically set it and forget it. How lazy are you people? If you have to re adjust it’s easy enough and takes little time. Manually operated makes lighter weight & less things to break.
Claire Kennedy I think people just want the vehicles to read their minds pretty much. The yuppies dictate the trends since that's where the money is. Everyone has valid points in this thread, but I don't find manual seat or tilt "difficult". I've worked on vehicles where power seats or column doesn't operate and it sucks. But some people are into having vehicle payments for life so they'll just get a new vehicle every 3 to 4 years so parts breaking isn't a factor.
The new ram drives amazing, and the interior is the best I've seen on any truck. I've driven all the models and can say you won't be disappointed with any of the ranges.
It's got 395 HP. How much power do you need? Have you ever driven a truck from the early '80's? Talk about underpowered. I've got a '16 Big Horn with the HEMI and it'll blow my '81 Z28 off the road. As for the power Tilt and Tele, well how often do you adjust your steering wheel? Love the '19, looks beautiful.
Harambe Jr. Never said it didn't. Just saying from a realistic stand point the Limited and Rebel are going to make up less than 10% of sales for these trucks
Styling is so much better. FCA has made a truck I would love to own. I see a resemblance to Durango in from facia which is a good thing. Technology packages inside is intuitive and pleasing to me. Tranny and power train meets durability and efficiency demands I would require. Keep the price in line and I’m in. Nice review.
ive driven ford f150 gmc 1500 and i own a ram 1500. i wouldnt trade my ram for any other truck. in my opinion the 4th gen ram is the best looking truck on the market by far. these new rams are also nice but they look like tacomas. i know alot of ford f150 owners who wish they got a ram or a GM.
sandman 62 just after 10 months the engine had camshaft issues, now it needs a new one. the truck has been in the dealership for 5 weeks and I need to wait for 2 more weeks hopefully.
What's about safety? Previous RAMs sucked compared to F150. Now I wasted my 2003 F150 in rain, crashing it into a huge dumptruck. So the choice is between RAM and F150. But now safety is something really important to consider.
Awesome Ram truck. This truck shows Ford you don't have to follow; you can leap ahead with items that are important to owners. Ford concentrates too much on how to back a trailer being a dork. Ram seems to concentrate exactly on what truck people want. Great looking Ram, great job -
Great new trucks, but remember JUST SAY NO when placing your order and the dealer asks if you want the optional E-Torque/Stop,Start feature. Also Air Suspension is absolutely useless if you live in an area that has actual winter with snow & ice and cold temps. Totally useless. The truck will drop and drop fast with no amount of Compressors, Air Bags or fuses are going to fix the problem till it warms up again.
No it doesn’t. All the system does is fail. My dealership is full of Rams,Rebels and Jeep Grand Cherokees all with fucked air suspension. Even the new unsold units sitting on the ground on the lot. The idiots who designed this air suspension don’t know what they are doing and didn’t account for all seasons
You’ve been lucky. 70% Of The ones we see in North Dakota fail. I’ve been doing Warranty for FCA for three years now and so far it’s been the same problem every Winter.
CTO Information your trying to start an argument so don’t..... you can ask one person and they will say “I have a 94 that hasn’t needed anything but your typical brakes and tires” and then you’ll ask another that “has a 2017 that’s been in the shop for the last 4 months” you can’t base your experience off someone else, just buy it and see how the ram works for YOU, not off someone else’s experience. Good luck!
then just answer: Between TOYOTA and Dodge, How many people with “hasn’t needed anything but your typical brakes and tires” and "that’s been in the shop for the last 4 months"? give it a percentage.
CTO Information consumer reports are bias so you can’t go to them, I was saying go with what you like and enjoy and give it a shot. If you like this truck over the tundra get it, if you like the tundra over this get that. You can get a bulletproof ram and a bulletproof tundra. You can also get a lemon of both also, you can get lucky with any. I live in Columbus Ohio and I see a bunch of old rams than tundras but that’s because in general I see barely any tundras as it is. Since this is the first year of multiple features, if you like this ram I would wait a couple years for them to work out the quirks since nothing changed with the Toyota really I would go with that if you need a truck now unless you get a 2017 ram. If you want a 2019 go tundra because a lot less has changed with it than what has changed with the ram. If you want a percentage with 2019 models I would say 60/40 giving the tundra the lead but compare both to 2016-17 with the ZF8 transmission which has been proven great and late 2016 fixing the problem with the third brake light leak I would give the ram a slight lead or tie with the tundra. Whatever you pick I wish you the best of luck. 2017 seemed to be a good year for ram with good feedback in the forms with not too many bigger problems. Same with Toyota so it’s just an overall buyers opinion, but like I said good luck with whatever you feel like going with :) Toyota has made great trucks in the past too!
Why don't you look it up? Dodge doesn't make the transmission, ZF does and it's brilliant. BMW, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, and Aston Martin to name a few all use literally the exact same transmission across their lineups.
Like he really doesn't want to review the ram. Haha needs more power is not what I think when I drive a hemi. I have a longhorn that is extremely comfortable but test driving the laramie trim and it road like shut
No performance engine change?????? You didn't see the pancake electric motor that adds an extra 130 ft lbs of torque setting on top of the engine? Do your homework!
60k for a "working" truck? Also why not show something like a tradesman for people that are going to use it as a truck instead of a SUV replacement for suburban people?
Nice truck. Not for nothing...I live in downtown San Antonio and that is NOT San Antonio in the city shots. It looks like Los Angeles to me. I guess that’s the price you pay when you use manufacturer supplied stock footage. Also, anyone else notice the first downtown shot with the turn towards camera clearly shows the truck going the wrong way down a one way street? The cars and bus behind it are facing the other way and there is a triple lane red light on in the background...
Dodge a dodge every chance you get. I purchased a new Dodge PU. In less than a year the rear end took a dump. (no pun intended) Dealer fixed under warranty. Next year the rear end was repaired again along with a trans rebuild. My expense. Then the black paint went. Hood looked like a zebra. White primer w black paint. By the time it was paid off the dash broke into pieces like potato chips. Transmission was going out again so I sold it for $1,700 with new tires. I had to end the dodge ownership nightmare. The only way I would consider another Chrysler product is if they gave it away. Then I would sell or trade it for anything but... The engine had a few issues over the years, but if the rest of it is junk... Water pump? Toast! Window motor. My current POS is a 2002 Toyota sedan. Not a dime spent on a repair. Tires, Batteries, Fluid changes. That's all! And the slogan is "Buy American"! When they make something without all the designed obsolesce, I might consider something. Do I know of what I speak? I've had my DL since I was 14. Learned to drive in the snow and ice. Here is a little project I build several years ago. It only made 100 hp on a dyno. ua-cam.com/video/9aA-0eJ0VCQ/v-deo.html
RAM has the best V8 on the market and this guy complains? That's interesting. My Friend and I tow all the time with his 17' 1500 V8 and we never lack power. Heck even my father's Chevy Tahoe V8 with roughly similar weight towing doesn't have a problem. Don't see why we need to get into a 2500 range of power
It's attractive and much easier to see and operate things. Just like Tesla's model s screen. Electronics were there with small 5" screen too, but you don't have to stop and look at menus with magnifying glass. We all have to hope electronics in cars will not fail all the time
Looks like a nice machine. But I’m not too keen on forking out 75k for a truck and then hitting the rocks and brush with it to tear it all to HE double hockey sticks. If your serious about off roading get something you don’t mind banging, scrapping and thrashing around. It’s just too damn nice to want to abuse and mark up.
Remember when blue collar, hard working folks could buy blue collar trucks? Have to be a lawyer to afford these $70,000 dollar pick ups. Ford, Dodge and Chevy have really lost the core ideals that made them what they have become.
Julian Johnston Jr. Believe it or not, that's for a 4x4 v8 Ram. Check out south town indianola iowa website. But yeah, prices on highest trim models is insanity.
mycatisromeo hey... I live n Dsm too!! Cheers.. Actually I live in Indianola lol my dad sold cars for Stew for 23 years at Southtown until stew was bought out!
Way to go FCA. we as consumers wait 10 model years for a new Ram, and this is all you can come up with. A new Tundra? And the same HP and Torque ratings as the 5.7 in my 2015. Epic fail.
Not bad but they'll have to keep doing better to keep up with GM sales, Ram is getting better it seems probably won't be long and they'll overtake ford
this truck screams extreme maintenance costs ina few years. avoid it like the plague, ur just buying a BMW that costs 800$ to repair each electronic module that goes wrong
There is no SPORT 1500 " Trim" anymore. Its Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Long Horn, and Limited. The Laramie Trim has a Option for Sport LOOK. i think the same
Decent review. These trucks need turbo V8’s or electric drive at this point. These powertrains are getting very old in the tooth. Nothing like the SUV market that has everything you can imagine.
Disagree with the wanting electronic steering adjustment. How often do you need to adjust the steering column? Just another device to go wrong.
I thick it would probably be adjusted just often as you adjusted your seat for a different driver, and they have powered seats for that.
It's nice when the position can be saved with the memory seats when multiple drivers use the truck.
with e adjust you can use it while driving, just an option
Agreed, people typically set it and forget it. How lazy are you people? If you have to re adjust it’s easy enough and takes little time. Manually operated makes lighter weight & less things to break.
Claire Kennedy I think people just want the vehicles to read their minds pretty much. The yuppies dictate the trends since that's where the money is. I am making the switch to RAM. They nailed the design and performance.
When they nail reliability I'll be on board
Ryan S. More reliable than Chevy and Ford. And there are stats to back that up. Google it
You can't convince those who don't want to be convinced. but I'm with you.
Aviation Delta Dart only thing i dont like is the bar above the headlights
Agreed i traded in my 2014 Silverado for the 2019 Ram.
I have the 2019 Ram Limited and gotta tell you guys it's an amazing truck the inside is luxurious and sure to impress any passengers you have in it 😀
The new ram drives amazing, and the interior is the best I've seen on any truck. I've driven all the models and can say you won't be disappointed with any of the ranges.
I smell a 2019 truck of the year award.
This truck looks really nice. That 12 inch screen is fancy af
Is there 2019 ecodiesel option?
i had a 2017 ram with issues after issues, i switched to the F150 and i love it!!
Hands down the best truck on the market.
Love the '19, looks beautiful.
is the 5.7 any different? still 1 hp per cubic inch?
They still sell manual transmission for these trucks right?
I don't get why these channels only show the limited model. 90% of your buyers are going to be buying the tradesman, big horn, slt etc etc
Jeff - Don’t lie.....limited still looks good tho.
Harambe Jr. Never said it didn't. Just saying from a realistic stand point the Limited and Rebel are going to make up less than 10% of sales for these trucks
These channels show whatever the manufacturer provides them. It's not even for sale yet!
Ethan A The Rebel isn’t a new version you know.
There are Channels that show the Big Horn which is the base Pedestrian model as the Base Ram in general is the Tradesman, the Fleet work truck.
Ford, Toyota and GM have a lot of work to do! Competition is a great thing.
What is the difference between limited & rebel ?
I build this is Detroit. Definitely gonna be truck of the year.
You called that one
I’m not really a dodge guy but I have to say this dodge looks way better than ever before
Great rig, shits on competition. Hemi a must have. Looks and sounds good.
Manual light on the turn?
I still love my 1994 Dodge Ram
Very good review, very nice truck!
B Cuz you have no taste
Dan Bouchard you are a fool !
All the new trucks seem to be taking on the shape of a minivan
It’s either between this or the 2019 Sierra for my next truck! Guess I’ll see which gives me a better deal!
ive driven ford f150 gmc 1500 and i own a ram 1500. i wouldnt trade my ram for any other truck. in my opinion the 4th gen ram is the best looking truck on the market by far. these new rams are also nice but they look like tacomas. i know alot of ford f150 owners who wish they got a ram or a GM.
Since the engine of my gen2 Raptor is unreliable, I might be trading it in for a Rebel next year.
Kotevee K What's up with the RAPTOR motor ? Problems ,
sandman 62 just after 10 months the engine had camshaft issues, now it needs a new one. the truck has been in the dealership for 5 weeks and I need to wait for 2 more weeks hopefully.
The Rebel is just a O/R package. Wait a little bit for a possible Rebel TRX powered by a Hellcat engine.
emdec55 nah he should just get the rebel and if he can afford a raptor he can afford to mod the rebel it's almost 40k more expensive
Kotevee K Let them fix your raptor use it till 2020 a 7.0 hemi Ram Trx is coming also a hell cat powered one.
I'd like to see a Rebel vs. Trail Boss head-to-head.
GibsonOfAGun I do too
Electric steering adjustment? Huge ipad in the dash? You know, it would be nice to be able to buy a pick up truck for under $50gs
Dodge kicking ass right now!!
Awesome truck!
What's about safety? Previous RAMs sucked compared to F150. Now I wasted my 2003 F150 in rain, crashing it into a huge dumptruck. So the choice is between RAM and F150. But now safety is something really important to consider.
Did the doors fall off?
Awesome Ram truck. This truck shows Ford you don't have to follow; you can leap ahead with items that are important to owners. Ford concentrates too much on how to back a trailer being a dork. Ram seems to concentrate exactly on what truck people want. Great looking Ram, great job -

Lies. The System heats up for Winter use.

The idiots who designed this air suspension don’t know what they are doing and didn’t account for all seasons

I live in Michigan and my air ride has been flawless. I’d get the option again.
You’ve been lucky. 70% Of The ones we see in North Dakota fail. I’ve been doing Warranty for FCA for three years now and so far it’s been the same problem every Winter.
Blackloz
What exactly is the problem? Compressor, air bags, electronics?
I'd love to see how that screen fairs in the real world
Eric Albertson I'm sure it'll fair fine...my 8.4 hasn't skipped a beat
Looks like the review was done in the real world.
Eric Albertson good, as long as your 2 year old doesn’t throw his sippy cup from the back seat and crack it ....
Pete Ludwig You're two year old should know better then.
Floki really? Two year old most of the time can barely talk and walk and you think they should know better gtfo
Looks like a ridgeline. Brutall!
Awesome truck 😃
Great 🇬🇧 truck 🚛. Love ❤️ that it has towing capacity. 👍👏👍👏💪💪.
Did he really ask for more performance from the hemi?
3.92 diff gears on 33" tires with an 8-speed transmission. Would prefer a 4.10 or higher.
What an idiotic nitpick. If the steering wheel adjusting was electronic it would just be another thing to fail over time
Good review on the ram truck thx
That's cool but I'll take an F 150 STX with the 5.0 it has most of the same capabilities and I'd be willing to bet it is a heck of a lot cheaper too.
Why the dip on the top of the front chrome grill and huge badge in back. For that I'm out
reliability?

dashboard-light.com/vehicles/Dodge_Ram.html
He’s over there leaning on the truck......scratching the fire out of it........
Beautiful truck I like it
This guy is awesome!
Nima Bahrehdar why?
Beautiful truck, I wish RAM makes a reliable diesel(cummins)-rebel truck one day.
What is the intro song ?
Make the 6.1 or 6.4 available in the 1500 already
Yeah would be nice to bump up the hp on the hemi.
What about the transmission? Dodge is known for weak transmissions,is it new?
Rob Price zf8 is great..get out of the 90s
My 17 has the German ZF8 speed in it. Best Tranny on the market
Rob Price since 2014 they have an 8 speed which is solid
Why don't you look it up? Dodge doesn't make the transmission, ZF does and it's brilliant. BMW, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, and Aston Martin to name a few all use literally the exact same transmission across their lineups.
So nice!
Nice truck
The more things change the more they stay the same. Is the vibe I am getting from the new Ram.
Eric Fox it’s a trap
You mean like the Fords they just Recalled because of the risk of Steering wheels popping off? Oh ok.
guy proulx was wondering when you were gonna start
Tomaz Hilton imagine your steering wheel coming off in your hands at 80mph...fucking FORD POWER BWAHHHHHH
Who can really afford one of these "TRUCKS" very nice however its more of a lexus at the higher trim than a truck.
Tpr1634 all you need is good credit
When i became the sun.. Lol 😆 have that , would need a 30 year note.
They make the lower trims that for those of us that can not afford the Limited. Still get some good options even in the big horn.
True thing man.
Tpr1634 I can afford one of these. My boss is ordering one so he can afford it also.
This is the most mediocre review I've ever seen.
Like he really doesn't want to review the ram. Haha needs more power is not what I think when I drive a hemi. I have a longhorn that is extremely comfortable but test driving the laramie trim and it road like shut
Probably buy it this weekend with this holiday Labor Day $14500 off why not.!!!
Is this guy related to the motortrend guy? They talk the same and they look alike... the guy from motortrend is just younger
And thank God no aluminium cabin.
To clarify, the SUNNY shots of “downtown” are stock footage. The rainy shots are definitely in San Antonio. I recognize them well.
Don’t like the exterior but the interior is amazing
Chevy and they're weird tailgate are going to be in like number 3 or 4 position in the truck game
Insides nice but from the outside it's looking like some sort of crossover truck hybrid.
8 year 250 mile bumper warranty???
...and it will probably break down at mile 251
I'm buying
I live in San Antonio and that city they were driving in is not SA
They said Arizona i think......
It was downtown Phoenix, Az
I was thinking the same thing...where in San Antonio is he??
I saw a sign for Adams street. That's none other than downtown Phx AZ.
Best looking truck for 2019 other than the ford raptor
gots to have me a Ram.
"Made air ride suspension smarter."
Okay... But did they make it actually fuckin work?
so it gets better mileage then my 2017 Tacoma ...that sucks
It's a HEMI. You want better mpg thier are other options in the dodge. Ppl want power
Dodge a dodge every chance you get.
I purchased a new Dodge PU. In less than a year the rear end took a dump. (no pun intended)
Dealer fixed under warranty.
Next year the rear end was repaired again along with a trans rebuild. My expense.
Then the black paint went. Hood looked like a zebra. White primer w black paint.

ua-cam.com/video/9aA-0eJ0VCQ/v-deo.html
They really bit off the f150 front end design.
I hope they lower the freaking drivers seat. I'm 6 ft 2 and can't sit without my hair bumping the headliner.
All the temps on one screen isn't new
RAM has the best V8 on the market and this guy complains? That's interesting. My Friend and I tow all the time with his 17' 1500 V8 and we never lack power.
Heck even my father's Chevy Tahoe V8 with roughly similar weight towing doesn't have a problem. Don't see why we need to get into a 2500 range of power
12 inch screen wtf!? Is the truck a theater now? Lol
selerim , it's badass
selerim so much useless electronics in truck these days
It's attractive and much easier to see and operate things. Just like Tesla's model s screen. Electronics were there with small 5" screen too, but you don't have to stop and look at menus with magnifying glass. We all have to hope electronics in cars will not fail all the time
tallll70 if is your style that's fine you can buy it, I rather still drive my old classic 2002 Dodge ram with my aftemarket touchscreen stero
selerim we’ll keep driving your old truck. No one is forcing you to watch videos of newer trucks.
MORE POWER !!!!!!!!!!!
AD the DEMON Engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a damn Toyota
Looks like a nice machine. But I’m not too keen on forking out 75k for a truck and then hitting the rocks and brush with it to tear it all to HE double hockey sticks. If your serious about off roading get something you don’t mind banging, scrapping and thrashing around. It’s just too damn nice to want to abuse and mark up.
Come back in 2019 for test results. They`ve revamped the factory-truck-testing. Past ratings are no longer viable.
Looks like a Honda Ridgeline.
Remember when blue collar, hard working folks could buy blue collar trucks? Have to be a lawyer to afford these $70,000 dollar pick ups. Ford, Dodge and Chevy have really lost the core ideals that made them what they have become.
2 doors, vinyl seats, am/fm, and heat. Miss those days
Julian Johnston Jr. Not true. They're selling 2018 ram 1500 big horn club cabs for 32,000 new here in the des moines iowa area.
oh yeah you can get 2w v6 cheaps, but 4x4 diesels are insane nowadays, even ford has a $80,000 limited, prices are just too much in my opinion.
Epic fail.
Slac adjuster but what about the big gay ass screen lol
Slac adjuster more like epic winner...they will continue to take market share...and prove you wrong!!!
Dick Burns, yes no doubt, my truck doesn't have that frickin eye sore screen
How about doing a review on a trim that is more affordable? Tired of seeing reviews on a $60,000 truck
Inside feels very car-like. Older model have a more masculine feel. Very bummed about this new design inside and out
Electronic adjustable steering wheel? Next thing you know they will be wanting a heated steering wheel.....oh wait.
Not bad but they'll have to keep doing better to keep up with GM sales, Ram is getting better it seems probably won't be long and they'll overtake ford
Ram updated headlights and interior, it's so over hyped
this truck screams extreme maintenance costs ina few years. avoid it like the plague, ur just buying a BMW that costs 800$ to repair each electronic module that goes wrong
:barfing intesifies:
I want to see vids on the sport model it's the one most people will buy and I'll buy 😁😎
You mean sportsman?
redd7188 no the ram 1500 sport it's the one that sells the most where I live.
Jack Meov sorry I meant tradesman but wow, you must live in a nice area if the Sport is the top seller.
redd7188 live in the city and everyone puts a lift kit or mudders on it makes no sense but the rebel is also a big seller where I live as well
There is no SPORT 1500 " Trim" anymore.
No prices !!! Come on !!!!
The bed is way too short for a truck
