Genius. I love it how precisely you explain everything. And show all those pro tricks.
So true
By far the best iMovie presentation I've seen on YT. The explanation is spot on and is very precise. Thank you so much for sharing.
Beautifully done. I know it is a lot of work but GREATNESS takes time. I am sure those who want to do a thorough and clean job would love a video as good as this!
Agreed Vignesh! The tutorials on this channel are top notch.
this is by far the most helpful tutorial ever. Not only is the solution clearly and directly explained, it is also a friking genius solution as well. Much thanks.
wow. maybe the best teacher I've ever seen... seriously.
Love your videos! Straightforward, clear and you have a great voice for doing voiceover tutorials. Thanks again!
You, sir, are a master communicator. You’ve taught me a few tricks, which is great, but I’ve found myself watching your videos of techniques I already know just to see how well you explain them! 🤣 New subscriber. Great work!
Wow, you are such a great teacher! I've been learning a lot from your videos. I'm self taught on iMovie, and really didn't know what I could do beyond the basics. I've been applying what I've learned in your other videos, too, and am getting much improved results. This is great - thank you!
Really love your videos! I was thrown into producing iMovie Bible lessons on the fly during this quarantine and it has been a slow learning curve! However, stumbling on your videos has been a Godsend, they are super informative, to the point, and easy to follow!
You are a GOD SEND. I am a chef who is finally starting to produce social media content after 10 years of just grinding in restaurants and now starting a business as a private chef. You explain this so thoughtfully and fool proof (I’m the fool). Your video on using QuickTime to make my iMovie vertical helped me after 24 hours of frustration trying to make an IG Reels video. Thank you so much.
That's exactly what I wanted to do! Thank you! (Zoom in ~ hold ~ zoom out)
love your work Michael
What an awesome video! It’s done so well and so easy to follow! Thanks so much!
After 10 years of absents using iMovie, this is a great channel to get reacquainted with it...
Excellent presentation and very informative. Thank you for sharing and have yourself a great day!
This is awesome! Really enjoy all your tutorials!
Thank you so much Michael for the tip, I have been struggling with this zoom trick in iMovie. I still believe that with some tricks iMovie can achieve advanced movie editing. I understand it has it limitations, but still, it can do a good job. You just need to know how.
Nice and clearly explained ..again.. Made my day. Thank you
Thanks Michael, your tip is far easer than how I was doing the process, 👍🏻👍🏻
I used it and it worked great! I used my phone to film myself drawing. I used your zoom in technique to show detail of the shading. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much. Very well explained and I already have ideas on how I can use this technique in my iMovie videos.
Thank you, again! Your slow and precise tutorial style really allows me to watch this once and completely understand what I was looking for. As I said on another of your videos, I'll be back!
This is so good. Thank you so much for teaching this. It’s very helpful to me.
You deserve a lot more recognition,I needed this
Love your videos , thanks for uploading . They are greatly informative and very easy to understand.
As always, informative videos. A lot to take in but I will be visiting this again to watch. Brilliant information and thanks
Excellent! As usual in your channel. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks!
Dude, been looking for months about this subject. Great voice and presentation. Keep up the excellent work.
Very well taught. Thank you!
Michael Thanks for all your great videos! My go to channel for all video editing
This was very informative put in resolution you wish to set at the beginning I did wonder why some videos dipped to 724. I will have to remember that next time I do it
Thank you so much, your imovie editing tips are greatly appreciated
Thanks for sharing these great tips!
Sweet Video and tips. Thank you,
Grant
These are really wonderfully well done. My 'secret sauce' is that you can copy the start and end boxes and paste them into other clips. I often use this to create the illusion of a moving POV having used a static camera.
PS clarify; I hadn't realised that by applying the zoom to a longer than needed clip and then cutting it the boxes are the same but can then be reversed. I was copying and pasting into the second clip, then reversing. Your way is easier, though requires a little more thinking ahead. I guess you can still use the copy and paste if the relevant clips are a long way apart, which I doubt I will need.
Great Tutorial, I love the comment too!
Super! I would have thought that for the pause section that you would just change the end point of the Ken Burns effect to the same as the start point. But I think choosing the other method saves some processing time and ensures that no mistakes are made by trying to match the start and endpoints for the pause.
Yes, I used to do that previously, but could never get a perfect match, so would end up with a little hiccup. This method takes more steps, but you end up with a smooth result.
Well done tutorial. Thank you!
You made my day today !
Loved your tutorials. Help me a lot! Thanks!
Thank you!! I love your videos.
Thank you for your videos! They helping me a lot in my editing!

Hi Michael, this was an amazing tip to edit videos! Thx a lot!
Excellent again, just started using imovie after using Adobe premiere elements for years, its a great bit if kit, made better with your vlogs! Thanks
Thank you sir for this tutorial
ok, with this tut I really know now, how much work you put in !!! I asked my self already how you did that ;-) As well I appreciate that you explain, why you do certain things ! Thanks a lot
Perfect!
Amazing! Exactly what I wanted!
Thank you sooo much I was going crazy!!
Your voice is heavenly
Amazing content that really helps!!
Do you have a video specifically on iMovie audio?
I've been wondering the same thing! I've grabbed bits and pieces from other videos, but not one dedicated to editing audio in iMovie
Hey Mike, I actually discovered this feature on my own but it sure helps to see it explained easily in this video! You can also copy a clip, and paste it's Crop adjustment to another clip if you want to keep the zoomed in level, rather than redoing the Ken Burns effect later. Just one editor-to-another ;)
Tried that before, but kept getting a hiccup at the edit point. 🤔
Holy Moly! I was wondering why my videos were exporting at 720p when I thought it should be 1080p ... it’s because of the fist clip I put on the timeline! 🤦♀️
Any tips to change a project that I’ve already cut together to 1080p from 720p?
(Ps - I’m a blast from the past....perhaps you remember me 😉)
Thank you so much!!! ❤️
Thanks! This was very helpful, with my channel! It really deserves a like.
Thank you for sharing
Great tips. Thank you Michael. Greetings from Istanbul :)
Great tips thanks Mike.
Excellent work again
Thank you, very useful tips!
Nice job!
Wow thanks. Great video.
love it. exactly what I want
Love it, loveit, LOVE IT!
Wonderful video! Question: why not just keep the resolution at 4K and then export the file at the end in 1080p?
Thanks a lot....cool calm voice ...
Great voice, great content 😊
Needed this video!
Dope tutorial sir.
Greetings from Germany. Thank you for this tip :)
Now this is epic
👍Thank you! Very useful!!
Again, I am learning so much from all this.
My first video’s are looking so amateur now! 😂

Great technique Mike, thank you for showing. I was struggling with this in my latest edit. Now I know how to do it.
Qestion: could you make a tutorial about the B-roll? I've seen some things there which I don't know what they're for.
B-roll is basically footage of the area or subject you’re filming, but it’s not the specific thing you’re talking about. So if you were talking about a specific lens for a camera you might shoot some footage with that lens that shows off what you will be talking about. Then, when you are doing the voiceover and you get to a part where you’re giving exposition you put the b-roll over that.
incredible. Thanks a lot
Thanks dude
Love you video ❤️ thanks
Thank you for sharing !
Watching this tutorial is a bit like the movie Inception. 😉
Michael, you might be the best teacher in the world…
New Subscriber 👍
Cool!
Dang, this one was kinda overwhelming...in a good way!
So you keep the resolution of the setting to 4K, and do zooming-in and out of clips within, does it reduce the quality of those clips on zoom?
Hi there. Is there a way to make the "zoom in" process go faster? Tx 😊
Cut the clip shorter. The Burns effect lasts exactly as long as the clip is long. For the zoom in, you want to work backwards: where do you want the zoom to end? How long do you want to take to get there? Go backwards that many frames and split the clip there.
Hi my teacher Thank you sir
Love your videos, I have a question, I have a few PDF files that I try to zoom into them and lose all resolution. any idea what I am doing wrong? I am very new to imovie and youtube, been wanting to learn for a long time and now here i am...
What are the resolution of the PDFs?
@@MacVideoMagic lol I have no Idea...
@@MacVideoMagic lol that is great question... I have no idea
well done
Very clear and helpful tutorial but please stop telling me to “watch carefully”! 😂
Hello! Love your videos
and great hacks, but I have an issue with my thumbnails pics. I upload the transparent pics to canvas it turns out the background is still white. I give it my best shot, if you please can help me out.
genius!
I appreciate your videos. I tried this but my clip turned black. Am I doing something wrong?
