    Thank you, so much. A dozen of these views are probably mine. Quick note, removing the bottom cover there are 2 different length screws. the 2 short ones go in the center close to the where the bottom attaches to the screen. Also there are 2 different length screws for the speakers. Please take note when removing and installing.
    Great video. Saved me a bunch of money.

      Awesome video. Easy to follow and simple to do. Mine had 3 different lengths for the speaker screws. Lay them out when you take them out so you know where to put them back. I used a plastic tool to pry up the connectors as a precaution.

    Please stop using metal pry tools on motherboards dude :( If you dont have a plastic one, just use your (static earthed!) hand. shorting out MBs can be instant death to the board and these modern macs can end up taking out the SSD with the board, which is a chaotic thing to do.

    Please, I need help! I followed your instructions and successfully replaced both my speakers. They work just fine now. So, thank you for that 🙏🏻
    However, after turning on my laptop, my wifi wasn't able to scan any networks around me. I've tried using a third party dongle and restarting my laptop. The wifi status was turned 'off', and clicking on it didn't change anything. I've deleted the wifi service thinking I could restart and manually add the service in again, but now I can't even find the wifi option in the add service list.
    What should I do?
    Your help is very much appreciated!

    • @CamTechElearning
      @CamTechElearning  Рік тому

      The only way you could now is to re-open your macbook and check the wifi cable to see if you have accidentally touched it and cause it to loose from its socket. This means that you need to remove what you removed before checking the wifi cable. If you don’t know which one is the wifi cable. Just search it google, they will tell you which one.

    • @karenwong5724
      @karenwong5724 Рік тому

      @CamTechElearning thank you for responding! I've done that already, and realized that I was nowhere near the wifi cables when replacing the speakers. However, I've still unplugged them and put them back in just to be super sure. Still to no avail... should I just send it in for repair? 😔

    • @CamTechElearning
      @CamTechElearning  Рік тому

      Yes that’s what I thought. The wifi cable is too far from the speakers’ cables. How could replacing the speakers screw up the wifi cable? Are you sure your wifi stopped working?

    • @CamTechElearning
      @CamTechElearning  Рік тому

      Check the System Profiler to see if the WiFi hardware is actually seen by the system. If the WiFi card hardware is not seen, then try reseating the WiFi card. Otherwise the WiFi card has likely failed

    • @karenwong5724
      @karenwong5724 Рік тому

      @CamTechElearning I got my wifi back. I didn't do anything special. I left it on and it ran out of battery so when I charged it and turned it on the next day, I tried adding the wifi service back in as I did the last time had it on, the wifi option magically appeared. I am beyond happy lol. Did I just need a true power cycle to really refresh the system or something?
      Thanks again for all the help you've offered! Much appreciated 🙏🏻

    i just want to know how much it costs if u get them tech people to replace it for you?

    • @eazy6037
      @eazy6037 4 роки тому

      If you mean how much it costs for a nearby tech store to fix it, you can always call them for an estimate. If they have a website, you can possibly check how much the part also costs then do the math on how much they charge for labour. 👍🏼

    Finally got my MacBook Air 2018 - missed a few of your vids - am awaiting a new MacBook Pro for my music.. guess what the reason was, that it was replaced - my speakers blew !! lol...and I unfortunately didn't see your vid in time - still, as usual, very cool vid, useful and I know a friend who needs this, so `I am sharing on FB...

    I thank you very much for your vidéo. There is a risk of of loosing the stereo, that is what happened for me. I removed the plug and tried it again and then it worked perfectly. I have a very old macbook pro with this problem. (sold in mono !) but to replace the speakers is a very tricky thing : almost removing everything to get to the speakers. Not worth it !

    WOW! So much confusion as to the size and type of screwdrivers needed to perform this task. You say one thing in the video, another in the comments, and even those replying in the comments are at odds as to which is correct. One thing is for certain, whatever is needed, I don't currently have it. Now, I don't have confidence in what to get to make the speaker swap.

      Replacing speaker has nothing to do with network modem

    • @CamTechElearning
      @CamTechElearning  6 місяців тому

      You can restart your mac and turn your wifi off and on. Or turn off your internet modem and turn it back on or click to forget the network and reconnect.

      @@over50me Not fake, it is old and mine was similar. It was made worse once the cover is removed. The track pad stops working correctly when it swollen like that.

    Very helpful, thanks, although you should *NEVER* pry electronic parts like the battery connector with a METAL screwdriver, you have to use something non-conductive like a spudger, Luckily you got away with it. Also, that battery is BAD, very swollen -- replace it soon!

    I done messed up my pc. I wish u made it clear to put the exact screw bk. Cuz it was t4 inside I didn’t really pay much attention to that. So b4 anyone go and fix make sure u see what u are doing. I saw someone said that about the screws but it was late for me by then so…. Good luck to all. I don’t think his instructions were that clear. Just my option and I’m shitty

    Hi!! Don’t know if anyone’s gone through this but after replacing my speakers and turning on my laptop I’ve been getting network preferences error (can’t connect to wifi) and my time and date is completely off (started from Jan 1 8am). I’m kinda at a loss of where to go from here now, would anyone have an idea what went wrong and how I could fix it? Many thanks!

      Did you ever manage to find a solution to this? A year after you, I'm facing the same problem after successfully replacing both my speakers :(
