Quick note, removing the bottom cover there are 2 different length screws. the 2 short ones go in the center close to the where the bottom attaches to the screen. Also there are 2 different length screws for the speakers. Please take note when removing and installing. Great video. Saved me a bunch of money.
Awesome video. Easy to follow and simple to do. Mine had 3 different lengths for the speaker screws. Lay them out when you take them out so you know where to put them back. I used a plastic tool to pry up the connectors as a precaution.
I put up with my blown out right speaker for a few years but today my left one started buzzing as well, so I am definitely going to be doing this soon thank you for the tutorial!!
Thank you for this! Super helpful! I usually ask my tech savvy brother in law to help me with this stuff, but with your video, I was able to replace my speakers on my own! 🙂
Thank you for this video! Very clear and easy to follow. I replaced my speakers in a matter of minutes because of you video. I purchased new speakers for my MacBookPro from Amazon for about 30 bucks and the speakers came with the only tools I needed (T4 & T5 and removal flat tool).
Can u tell me what screwdriver u used he said t5 torx I bought that it did not work to take off cover. I didn’t even make it to inside the laptop. Thank u
This video is awesome; love the constant camera angle looking down from the viewpoint one has while actually doing the work, makes it so easy to follow, bravo sir!
Nice video, one thing I noticed that the batteries looked swollen and perhaps you can mention that while the laptop is open then might as well replace the battery. As the condition of then can damage other components of the laptop.

Hi, great video. I have not experience, i use to change and update some of my macbooks. I have this model, i changed the battery but now the fan speed is at maximum and the mac is really slow. Do you have any idea of how i can fixed it? Thanks in advance
Thank you so much. I am a musician; the speaker sound is so important to me and the speakers in my early 2015 Macbook Pro sound terrible. I am only used to repairing A1181 and A1342 Macbooks and thought this was going to be extremely difficult. I am in hospital following arterial internal bleeding in my abdomen. Now I believe that I can do this repair here in the hospital; I'm broke, I just have to figure out how to get the funds for the speakers. Thank you again; I was scared that my logic board with the soundboard would need replacing. Stay Covid safe
You missed another VERY important detail to pass on to your viewers during this tutorial, dude: The screw lengths and widths used on each set of three that hold the speakers in place are different!!! If you do not keep this in mind during removal you will get into trouble!
I just replaced one of my speakers in this exact model. I was surprised when I unscrewed the first screw, the lid popped open as if there was pressure underneath. With all the screws removed realized the batteries were puffy. The same thing appears in your Video, your batteries appear puffy too. This does not look right, could be a safety issue. What do you think?
Please stop using metal pry tools on motherboards dude :( If you dont have a plastic one, just use your (static earthed!) hand. shorting out MBs can be instant death to the board and these modern macs can end up taking out the SSD with the board, which is a chaotic thing to do.
Please, I need help! I followed your instructions and successfully replaced both my speakers. They work just fine now. So, thank you for that 🙏🏻 However, after turning on my laptop, my wifi wasn't able to scan any networks around me. I've tried using a third party dongle and restarting my laptop. The wifi status was turned 'off', and clicking on it didn't change anything. I've deleted the wifi service thinking I could restart and manually add the service in again, but now I can't even find the wifi option in the add service list. What should I do? Your help is very much appreciated!
The only way you could now is to re-open your macbook and check the wifi cable to see if you have accidentally touched it and cause it to loose from its socket. This means that you need to remove what you removed before checking the wifi cable. If you don’t know which one is the wifi cable. Just search it google, they will tell you which one.
@CamTechElearning thank you for responding! I've done that already, and realized that I was nowhere near the wifi cables when replacing the speakers. However, I've still unplugged them and put them back in just to be super sure. Still to no avail... should I just send it in for repair? 😔
Yes that’s what I thought. The wifi cable is too far from the speakers’ cables. How could replacing the speakers screw up the wifi cable? Are you sure your wifi stopped working?
Check the System Profiler to see if the WiFi hardware is actually seen by the system. If the WiFi card hardware is not seen, then try reseating the WiFi card. Otherwise the WiFi card has likely failed
@CamTechElearning I got my wifi back. I didn't do anything special. I left it on and it ran out of battery so when I charged it and turned it on the next day, I tried adding the wifi service back in as I did the last time had it on, the wifi option magically appeared. I am beyond happy lol. Did I just need a true power cycle to really refresh the system or something? Thanks again for all the help you've offered! Much appreciated 🙏🏻
This does NOT work for the MacBook Pro mid 2015 A1398. The speakers are underneath the motherboard and many other components, including the fan, must be removed. It may be helpful for earlier models, but not in my case.

You replaced both left and right speakers? If the right side isn’t working, you can try removing it and installing it again. Maybe the cable connection is not strong enough. If the problem still occurs, maybe you need to contact the seller because they might have sent you the broken one.
