The Future of Robotics: Soft and Flexible

- Опубліковано 18 вер 2023
- Professor Dorsey unveils the secrets behind the materials that compose soft robots, from flexible plastics to squishy rubber and even shape-shifting metals that remain liquid at room temperature. Discover how these materials enable soft robots to adapt to their surroundings, conform around objects, and perform tasks that were once exclusive to their rigid metal counterparts. She explores the unique capabilities of soft robots that set them apart from traditional metal robots. Learn how they can be friendly to humans, making wearable robots and comfortable sensors a reality, and how they open doors to innovative applications in various industries.

@@mrmagnamalo7864i dont think you understand. T-1000
Yes. I've read the papers about them. In short, we've managed to produce experimental robots that can melt themself and get solid again. This way the can shape shift, which is very useful for example to do maintenance in a hard to reach place. They can just flow trough a small hole, solify once inside, do the job and then flow back outside.

I still remember the fun fact that 10% of protein in cereal comes from bugs.
Also remember one time they managed to get a full-sized hovercraft on the stage, the fans were so loud you couldn't hear a thing they were saying :)
Way before TED talks, glad to see they're still going strong after all these years.
There is NO WAY 10% of protein in cereal comes from bugs, please provide a source? Cuz i sure can't find one....
The push for eating bugs is a MUCH newer thing - its part of Agenda 2030. These agendas have been around for decades in various forms, but they weren't using bugs intentionally or allowing that much bug content unintentionally in the 80's. No way.
Cereal is actually really bad for you anyway, all the grains are HEAVILY sprayed with glyphosate. (And people wonder why "gluten allergy" is so common all the sudden)
@@YehWNoU Hate to break it to you, but wheat is grown outside in fields, which means when they harvest there's always plenty of bugs that get harvested with it. If you've ever eaten anything made of grains, you've inevitably eaten bugs. It's not a big deal, it's just a little thing called reality.
@@YehWNoU 10% of the protein, that's just what I remember from when I was a kid.
