Up until the five minute mark this match is near perfect, even for today's standards. Then today you would throw in some more highspots, but the key is that every single sequence must look like a struggle, not like ballet. There's nobody waiting to catch a guy's dive. There's no fighting spirit I-chop-you-you-chop-me bullshit. The only exchange of blows occurs when both are so winded that they can't defend and even THEN the third blow gets countered! This match should be shown to wrestling students worldwide as a prime example of how to work a match. People rave about Johnny Saint and his flashy moves and I don't want to take anything away from him, but this is the true best of British wrestling.
