Alyssa he’s actually more sympathetic when people quit for important reasons (family, injury, scared of the future), in this scenario, 2 people decided to quit because of stupid reasons.
There should be a video listing the quitters that are respectable. (Quitters that Jeff had respect for.) some examples would be sue, Kathy, terry and others)

I've softened a bit on her in the last seven years, considering what we know now, that production wouldn't give her extra clothes to wear. The fire really seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back in her case. That's why I think Jeff is a little kinder to her. Na'Onka just acted entitled the entire time and not stepping out of the reward in the same episode was one of the most disgusting things to ever happen in Survivor. I can forgive quitting if it's taking a toll on you, but at least PRETEND like you feel bad for screwing other people over. There were three people sitting on that jury who wanted to still be in the game and they had to spend ten days with two quitters at Ponderosa, instead.

For anyone saying people should be more sympathetic to them, think about this. Penner, Skupin, Russell Swan, James, Bruce, among others, were all removed from the game through no fault of their own, didn't want to leave, but had serious medical issues that forced them out. Jenna, Sue, Kathy, and Dana all quit, but for legitimate reasons(thought(correctly) that her mom was dying, mental breakdown(for both Sue and Kathy), and in a huge amount of pain(even though she was medically cleared to stay). These two quit because they couldn't handle it anymore. That's an insult to every player who left the game for reasons beyond their control. 10 days left in the game, too. That's the worst part of it. If Na'Onka had quit the first time she'd wanted to, maybe people wouldn't be AS hard on her. Would've also given someone more deserving a chance to make the merge, like Yve or Jill. But quitting that late, they screwed over Marty, Brenda, and Alina, who all clearly would've wanted to still be in the game.
totally agree with you on everything, there are 'quitters' out there (basically all that you mentioned) that have real reasons to quit...but these 2 are probably the worse quits. Quitting with only 10 days left in the game, 1 who had an immunity idol at the time (yes, i know she gave it to Chase before she left), is just ridiculous. This, in my opinion, is what makes Nicaragua the worst survivor season, and unless this happens again, it will always be at the bottom for me

Even if we ignore Naonka and Purple Kelly’s health issues, if you get voted out before two people who planned on quitting, you absolutely don’t deserve to still be in the game. People really need to realize that contestants have literally almost died on this show due to the conditions. At some point self-preservation kicks in and some contestants begin to place their well-being over a television show.

Completely shameful. I would love a chance to be on Survivor, I am actually applying hopefully this summer. Nayonka(I think that is how her name is) left with an idol too if I remember correctly. She had a good chance of winning the game if she played her cards right. If I was on that Jury I wouldn't even speak to those two at Ponderosa. This is one of the most disgusting scenes I've ever seen.

Cant wait to be on survivor then find out I’m not allowed to have any clothes (barely any) and start having issues with all my hearing since everything is summed up to be louder after I was denied supplements when a few seasons prior James wasn’t denied any. Totally their fault for receiving less if not any stuff future and present survivors got.
ryanbradyjohnblack19 They couldn't do that. Alina, Marty, and Brenda have been at Ponderosa since their eliminations. While they were there, they got to eat real food (full meals as opposed to just a cup of rice and whatever food they could find in the area), shower, and sleep in very comfortable beds. On top of all that, the miserable weather had no effect on them and they didn't have to do any challenges. Because of this, bringing them back would give them a really unfair advantage as they would be in a much better physical and mental state than the seven who had continued playing after they were voted off.
Johnny Horstman The core idea is that the casting directors take hours out of their days to get these people and it's just insulting for people to quit like this.

Incredible moment honestly, this episode was great and shows how the environment can kill someone in wanting to stay. It's rare to see on the show. Also how Purple Kelly was basically set up for this since production purposefully gave her no clothes. The music at the end is amazing too.
tbh I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with quitting. Sometimes people are pushed beyond their limits and put into a situation that puts their mental health in jeopardy and it's okay for them to back out of these situations. You'd rather have someone quit rather than hurt themselves physically or psychologically, right? If not, you are fucking heartless.

I think that they should bring Chase back for another season. I wasn't exactly crazy about him, but the truth is that he would've won the game if Naonka and Kelly weren't allowed on the jury.
Put yourself in Martys shoes @ 1:37 ................... He wants to play. After surviving in the elements for 14+ days with people that you barely know anything about when the season starts it eventually sinks into your head that "this game is gravy". It's like hiking the entire Appalachian or Pacific Crest trails. It's killing you some days while you're out there , but every couple of days you go to sleep feeling so high emotionally that you beat the mountain.

Those those saying that the Jury should've returned, you gotta remember that that's not even close to being possible, because Jury members eat, shower, get cleaned, and do everytihng else that the current in-game contestants do, giving them an actually gigantic advantage over those who were still in the game.
I'm in the minority here but I can actually understand PK quitting. The production crew picks out the clothes everyone is allowed on the island and because PK was cast as the 20 year old "hot girl" on Survivor they only gave her a freaking bikini. Anything else she wore was borrowed from someone else. It's no wonder she got really sick at nights. NaOnka and Colton on the other hand I hated them both.

Y’all need to calm down lmao. There are legitimate reasons people quit. I don’t understand the hate for Purple Kelly. First of all, she didn’t apply to be on the show, she was RECRUITED. Second of all, the producers were literally torturing her, by not letting her wear any clothes, which was why she finally snapped and quit. This is a fact several people have confirmed in interviews.

Did you see the Reunion? On the Reunion, Brenda mentioned that what had been left out of the season was that Naonka knew that Brenda had already been gunning for her when she voted her out.
The only way Jeff could take me from the game would be like Terry, whose son was very sick (only time a family phone call was ever mentioned in Survivor) and he left the game. Or like Caleb. Just won the challenge and collapsed from exhaustion. Perhaps the worst medical evac. Survivor is not for quitters !!!
The girl crying at tribal council in Nicaragua (haven't seen the season in a while, so I don't remember her name, but I know she got voted off for something with food and NaOnka) when Purple Kelly and NaOnka quit describes how we feel when someone quits. Survivor is such an incredible thing, both as a show for us and as an adventure for the players. So when someone quits, we're beyond disappointed. It's a shame, too, because I liked NaOnka and Purple Kelly. But you lose a lot of respect for quitting a game that most of us will never have the chance to play. I'd love to see people like Kathy, Osten, Purple Kelly, and Julie play the game again but because they quit, they can't play again.

naonka was probably among top disliked players in that season, kelly probably had a very low chance of winning the game can't see how tho. so truthfully speaking from only their point of view i can understand it even tho there might have been different reasons for their quitting. the way it influenced the game was probably more harmful because we will never know how it all turned out if they did stay in to play
This pissed me off because there are so many people that want to play survivor (including me) and them quitting makes those people along with the people who wanted to stay but can't because they were either blindsided or medically evacuated. That compares to school dropouts because it is insulting to anyone who didn't get a chance to graduate normally (Class of 2020).
What? Those 3 you named were Heroes in my book. Kim, the silent but deadly leader of the women, Malcolm, the big and powerful golden boy, and Cochran, the nerd who rose to power. Either way, they were all great and should play again (in Malcolm's and Cochran's cases, for a third time).

It's disgusting what production did to Purple Kelly. I'm surprised she didn't quit sooner. Production chooses what you wear. And they picked a bikini for her. So every time there was freezing rain, or super cold nights, there was Kelly, in only a bikini. She didn't have pants or a shirt, or a coat to put on. Fabio had to lend her a coat.
I have this theory. What if Nanonka didn't want to quit or hadn't manifested? I think Purple Kelly wouldn't have said anything. I think in her mind she didn't want to be percived as the one that quited. But since Nanoka was in the same boat. Purple Kelly knew she was going to share that shame and was not going to be alone in that situation
Brenda was one of the only things I actually liked about this season, and the fact that she was on the jury while NaOnka and Purple Kelly were still in the game... and then they quit with 11 DAMN DAYS LEFT.

Well, since medical reasons and quittring happens, it should be seen as a part off the game, and be taken in to account when choosing allies etc.

What they should do is hold on to the last few pre-jury vote-offs and have them take their places if needed

ryanbradyjohnblack19 They couldn't do that. Alina, Marty, and Brenda have been at Ponderosa since their eliminations. While they were there, they got to eat real food (full meals as opposed to just a cup of rice and whatever food they could find in the area), shower, and sleep in very comfortable beds. On top of all that, the miserable weather had no effect on them and they didn't have to do any challenges. Because of this, bringing them back would give them a really unfair advantage as they would be in a much better physical and mental state than the seven who had continued playing after they were voted off.

Incredible moment honestly, this episode was great and shows how the environment can kill someone in wanting to stay. It's rare to see on the show. Also how Purple Kelly was basically set up for this since production purposefully gave her no clothes. The music at the end is amazing too.

tbh I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with quitting. Sometimes people are pushed beyond their limits and put into a situation that puts their mental health in jeopardy and it's okay for them to back out of these situations. You'd rather have someone quit rather than hurt themselves physically or psychologically, right? If not, you are fucking heartless.
It's like playing a board game, and someone whants to quit. The others can't really keep playing.

Purple Kelly is literally the biggest floater in survivor history.
Between her & Romeo in season 42 all u saw was him sitting in the same spot occasionally eating rice with his hands.

The tribe should have voted one member of the jury back into the game. That would have made this an incredible season

Purple Kelly was her nickname because she had bit of purple in her hair and there was another Kelly in the game.
I think that they should bring Chase back for another season. I wasn't exactly crazy about him, but the truth is that he would've won the game if Naonka and Kelly weren't allowed on the jury.

After surviving in the elements for 14+ days with people that you barely know anything about when the season starts it eventually sinks into your head that "this game is gravy".
It's like hiking the entire Appalachian or Pacific Crest trails.
It's killing you some days while you're out there , but every couple of days you go to sleep feeling so high emotionally that you beat the mountain.

Those those saying that the Jury should've returned, you gotta remember that that's not even close to being possible, because Jury members eat, shower, get cleaned, and do everytihng else that the current in-game contestants do, giving them an actually gigantic advantage over those who were still in the game.
I'm in the minority here but I can actually understand PK quitting. The production crew picks out the clothes everyone is allowed on the island and because PK was cast as the 20 year old "hot girl" on Survivor they only gave her a freaking bikini. Anything else she wore was borrowed from someone else. It's no wonder she got really sick at nights.
NaOnka and Colton on the other hand I hated them both.

@Chloe Taterka You're not them and sometimes it is best to listen to your body. But Purple Kelley is already playing at a disadvantage if she has to cold every night while everyone else is warmer. They get to have better sleep which helps them physically and mentally.
Y’all need to calm down lmao. There are legitimate reasons people quit. I don’t understand the hate for Purple Kelly. First of all, she didn’t apply to be on the show, she was RECRUITED. Second of all, the producers were literally torturing her, by not letting her wear any clothes, which was why she finally snapped and quit. This is a fact several people have confirmed in interviews.
She needed to be aware of the possibility that she was going to be made into a character. Hers was the hot blonde chick.

If I'm so mentally broken, I will just sleep all day at the camp and freeride other people's work. If they vote me out so be it. In some circumstances I may even become so unlikeable that they want to keep me in the game longer.

Did you see the Reunion? On the Reunion, Brenda mentioned that what had been left out of the season was that Naonka knew that Brenda had already been gunning for her when she voted her out.

The girl crying at tribal council in Nicaragua (haven't seen the season in a while, so I don't remember her name, but I know she got voted off for something with food and NaOnka) when Purple Kelly and NaOnka quit describes how we feel when someone quits. Survivor is such an incredible thing, both as a show for us and as an adventure for the players. So when someone quits, we're beyond disappointed. It's a shame, too, because I liked NaOnka and Purple Kelly. But you lose a lot of respect for quitting a game that most of us will never have the chance to play. I'd love to see people like Kathy, Osten, Purple Kelly, and Julie play the game again but because they quit, they can't play again.

naonka was probably among top disliked players in that season, kelly probably had a very low chance of winning the game can't see how tho. so truthfully speaking from only their point of view i can understand it even tho there might have been different reasons for their quitting. the way it influenced the game was probably more harmful because we will never know how it all turned out if they did stay in to play
after this they made a rule that if you quit you couldn't be part of the jury so yeah you can tell jeff was super pissed by this
This pissed me off because there are so many people that want to play survivor (including me) and them quitting makes those people along with the people who wanted to stay but can't because they were either blindsided or medically evacuated. That compares to school dropouts because it is insulting to anyone who didn't get a chance to graduate normally (Class of 2020).

What? Those 3 you named were Heroes in my book. Kim, the silent but deadly leader of the women, Malcolm, the big and powerful golden boy, and Cochran, the nerd who rose to power. Either way, they were all great and should play again (in Malcolm's and Cochran's cases, for a third time).

It's disgusting what production did to Purple Kelly. I'm surprised she didn't quit sooner. Production chooses what you wear. And they picked a bikini for her. So every time there was freezing rain, or super cold nights, there was Kelly, in only a bikini. She didn't have pants or a shirt, or a coat to put on. Fabio had to lend her a coat.
I think it would've been funny if Purple Kelly was like "y'know what..... nah. I'll stay." since he asked NaOnka first and thus her odds increased XD

I think in her mind she didn't want to be percived as the one that quited. But since Nanoka was in the same boat. Purple Kelly knew she was going to share that shame and was not going to be alone in that situation

Brenda was one of the only things I actually liked about this season, and the fact that she was on the jury while NaOnka and Purple Kelly were still in the game... and then they quit with 11 DAMN DAYS LEFT.
