- Have you ever heard of the Pokemon Theory that Ash is actually in a coma during the entire Pokemon Anime? Well after this video you will know all about it. During this episode I'm going to break down the entire Ash Coma Theory and detail all of the facts that support it as well as the ones that can disprove it. If the theory turns out to be true, it would be extremely heartbreaking. All the friends Ash has made, all the people he's met, all the Pokémon he's caught, all of his battles, adventures, challenges, everything would be lost. It would all be an illusion. Damn.

I feel like that instead of the writers being lazy, its that Ash has only seen Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny in the town he lives in (following the OBVIOUS assumption that there is a police station and pokemon center in his town) so he wouldn't know what other nurse's and officers would look like and just think them as nurse joy and officer jenny

Apparently there was an initial idea for the end of the series in which an elderly Ash thought back to his youth in a Stand By Me sort of way.

Ash died after the Spearow attack. He was revived by Ho-oh, who is seen flying away immediately afterwards. Hou-ou is the Japanese phoenix, and the name Ho means "second chance".

The truth is that ash aged cus remember that u can only do island challenge when ur 11 in pokemon sun and moon the series and that means ash is 11 yrs old now and with that being said ash aged so he is not in a comacus if he is in a coma he wouldnt age. And 1 thing if officer jenny and nurse joy looks same they might be androids just a theory but it might be cus in the pokemon world machines there are high tech just a theory though and sorry for my wrong grammars. You don’t ever have the ability to control your dreams, it’s all subconscious. So all of his crazy adventure very well could be dreaming. Or it’s an anime and they don’t age lol cuz it makes money lol
I don’t remember exactly when but in Hoenn after May lost a competition, Ash gave her a pep talk about all the losses him and Pikachu have experienced and he specifically used the phrase “over the years”. Since then two theories could be formulated
1. Ash is in a coma, but he realizes it and actually has a semblance of how much time has passed but he doesn’t care and has given his mind over to the illusion he’s created completely
2. The creators of the show realized that if they made him an adult then it would make people less likely to watch, so they kept him young and stopped giving him dialogue that mentions how much time passes.
Personally this theory is very plausible, it would explain a ton about why ash never gets injured or why he doesn’t age. Other people also bring up other good points about how ash didn’t know about other Pokémon outside of kanto and would only dream about the 151 he originally knew about if he was in a coma.
Ash could be in a coma & his room in the hospital is always on the Pokémon station that he loves so he can hear about all the new Pokémon & new regions & it manifests in his coma
Misty hadn't forgiven Ash at all. If she followed him it was to reimburse her for her bike. In fact, she was really angry.
Can you imagine how awesome and genious would be If the next season ashe wakes up on his 30's ? I think almost everyone would comes back and watch the show again and the anime would be a sucess again with a more mature serious aproach.

What if this whole Pokemon anime timeline in under one year. I mean to say that if each region like jhoto sinnoh honen Kalos and alola (others regions I missed )are completed in 2 months each then we still are left with two months to finish one year which can be covered in Pokemon journeys leading towards 1st April which is Ash's birth date and then Pokemon company can make ash 11yrs old

Well, thats because he travels to the other regions in the coma, well, if there IS any other regions in the real pokemon world, since none of them really get references in other regions. Edit: The reason he knows what nurse joy and officer jenny look's like is probably because there are police stations and pokemon centers in his town, thats also why they all look the same, because he doesn't know what they would look like in other towns
When he goes somewhere new he forgets all of it until he meets them again

I mean him being in a coma would make the most sense if you take into account how many pokemon he's held/lifted that would realistically be impossible for him to budge. For example, during the sun/moon series, he was holding cosmoem who according to the pokedex is over 2k pounds

Another evidence is the enormous superhuman strength he possess like picking up a log,tackling a cage and breaking it etc.
in the First episode where he was struck by lighting he enters coma there. And since he allowed him to live his fictional life. Also how he seeing the legendary bird Ho-oh in the first episode after being stuck It’s Pokédex entry says and I quote “ It’s feathers are in seven colors. It is said that anyone seeing it is promised eternal happiness” That’s why ash never ages and always wins until the elite 4 or any other major challenge, if he succeeds he would wake up and will know it was all just a dream. And Ash was delusional kid. Pikachu was just a dog that ash saw as something else. And the only other Pokémon we saw where just birds of two different species. That’s the whole point no Pokémon existed until he got struck by lightning then he was able to live his Pokémon life.
I have come back two years after this has been posted to say that because Ash has won the name of Champion/Monarch, that means his coma must be coming to an end. I can’t tell if I believe this theory to this day, but I love it anyways. 👍

Technically the "Ash is Dead/in a Coma" theory actually started out as a creepypasta but then evolved into a full on theory.
My friend said that he is in a coma but I don’t think so because we don’t know how long he is in a region .

This theory reminds me of a story that MrBallen told about. About a guy who stared at a blurred lamp that turns out he was living an illusion. Coz he was in a coma the whole time so his life, family, kids, and wife, was not real and that devastating him so much had to live a constant life of remembering his kids and wife from his dream and cant believe it was all just a dream. Can just imagine the devastating feeling for ash to think Pikachu was fake, his friends were fake and bruh maybe the whole POKEMON universe itself might been fake. Coz remember the episode of The Tentacruel, we see normal fishes inside tanks. We also seen real life dogs, snakes even Mongoose from that Gastly episode. So when he would wake up from his coma, he just see normal people walking with normal animals and pokemon has never been a thing.

The way anime ends with Ash remaining still ten years old. This tells me there is something dream like happening to Ash Ketchum even as we speak. Yes Pokemon is a fantasy and most fantasy characters need to grow as people as we do, like Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. I do believe it's the coma theory because it seems that's most likely explanation. It sounds tragic but it can be retold from starting tragic to a happy ending.
This is my opinion if Ash is in a coma, its possible he's living in an alternative Pokemon universe and everything he sees in the anime is what he likes and doesn't like, mainly from his own perception (e.g. Jesse and James could be good in reality but appear bad to Ash). The characters Ash meets in the amine could be from a different perspective in reality if not the same. The Coma Theory could also explain the absence of Red, Blue, and Leaf. I also pictured Red being motivated by Ash's coma and that could explain Red's behavior why he's so focused to be the best, for someone else.
This is not set in stone but I enjoy Pokemon and add my thoughts to the conversation.
The ending should be ash winning the elite 4 and then ash will start to walk back to pallet town but something will feel different and he will slowly start to realise that he is in a coma then as the world around him starts to fade to black all of his old companions and Pokemon should appear and tell him to wake up then he will wake up in hospital but his vision is blurred but he can here his parents arguing about his hospital bills his dad says that ash is making no progress so he is going to stop paying ash wants to speak but he can’t after his dad walks out his mum comes over to him and starts crying by his side then she notices that his eyes are slightly open and with all his strength ash manages to say “mum” she then shouts for a doctor to come ash then begins to cry knowing that all of his friends and Pokemon never existed then he asks the doctor where his pikachu is and the doctor will say “what pikachu” then it cuts to 8 weeks later and ash is finishing his physiotherapy with all the doctors and nurses cheering him on as he was their miracle patient but his mum is looking at the bill knowing she can’t pay it and will have to sell the house she then urges ash to become a Pokemon trainer once again as there is nothing left for him in pallet town the last scenes will be a montage of ashes new adventures which will be much darker and ash will travel alone as he is too upset about loosing his former companions

if he was put in coma then explain me episode 2 where pikachu thunderschok connects with koffing and a total nuke accured and for some reason they are fine and have no real damage well by the mewtwo vs mew making him to stone feels kinda unlogic to me.
The thing is if it was real that would have to mean the all the video games you would be in a coma too bc the video games has some connections to the anime and how would ash know all the reagens and all the Pokémon
I don't think it makes a good case at all, even before Ash became the Alola League Champion, as people, pokemon, and entire areas of the world he never had knowledge of before the Thundershock (people need to get this right, It was a lightning boosted ThunderSHOCK, NOT Thunderbolt) wouldn't have existed, it would just be an endless Kanto region populated with a select few Pokemon.

I have a theory that Ash is not a Pokèmon trainer, but a normal boy who plays Pokèmon games, he replayed the games over and over, but as time passed, he got bored of the main storyline of all the games he played, so he made new storylines which are the storylines we now see today
That's capped the reason why he is ten still is because he wished to be 10 forever ho ho can grant wishes he is not in a coma it's a cartoon he can survive anything.

EVIDENCE ASH IS IN A COMA: (episode 1+2)
1. not only physically but even MENTALLY he still is 10 years old. even other trainers does not confirm his or their age in any episode but we see clearly all seasons of a year passing by. So that is to weird to happen.
2. Ash in the 1 season seeing through his TV maybe he is living other people adventures as were his owns. Not a single person in pokemon has met all the mythical and legendary pokemons and let alone save the day the world and even the galaxy.
3. this is my favorite part. EVIDENCE. Coma is a state of unconsciousness and can be cause by severe brain injury , STROKE or illness. a) In the first episode we confirm that Ash has sleep disorder and according to real science if a person at a young age has sleep disorder it can cause stroke. b) electric shock injury with low voltage with repetitive or prolonged period can cause STROKE. Sleep disorder + Electric shock => Stroke than causes coma. So in reality with the last atk that pikachu gave put Ash into instant coma.
4. In pokemon not counting Jenny and Joy , not a single character has like 40 twins or more because a real 10 year old boy does not know about police and hospitals , he may have personally met only 1 of them so its obvious they look the same to him. but normal people in towns and markets he knows are different. Also their personalities are completely different from the 1 and 2 episode of s1 pokemon.
5. The unknown father theory explained too.And this is very dark. Ash has a pc and he can check every trainer registered (including the dead). the only one he could not knew were uncertified trainers. There are 2 situations in the Anime about this particular case:1/ the father left Delia right-after she gave birth to Ash at an age of 19 years old. and 2/ Ash remembers him in flash backs but not his face or voice. In reality he never met or knew his father because Delia fed him false info. According to anime/movies , Spencer hale and Giovanni was the only known person to have met Delia. So Delia either had relationship with one of the two.
6. People and pokemon never die/or age on and off screen. There are even cemeteries in the pokemon world countless times but we have never seen how a pokemon dies or even people die even though we had giant robots , giant tentacruel smashing a huge building full of people and Kyogre/Groudon clashes so on. Even Ash in the anime and movies dies countless times and magically revives. Because a kid in a coma is fighting with his life.
7. And one of the most important clues. We all know Ash won only island based challenges like The orange islands, and Alolan Islands. Isnt it strange? well its not. i think because he does not consider those as real victories and thats why he continues on his jurney to become the pokemon Master and thats why his loop likely will never end. and thats sad.
IN OTHER WORDS I HATE TO SAY IT BUT POKEMON WE ALL KNOW ,IS A BIG LIE. ITS JUST A 10 YEAR OLD BOY STUCK IN A 20 YEARS LOOP COMA.
