He didn't get to finish the story. After the city turns over a new leaf and god spares them. Jonah goes off by himself to be upset cuz he didn't want the city saved. He thought they deserved judgment. Jonah finds a vine to sleep under. A worm eats the base at night and when he wakes the vine is dying. Jonah is upset about the vine dying. God points out that jonah is acting like a selfish dick. He cares about a vine but not people and really only cares about the vine because it was shading him from the sun.
Please can we get more bible stories... I've been listening to the same compilation when I go to bed way more often than I care to admit!

Man I like the Bible stories told by Taylor a lot but I really hope they have him talk about more stories soon, I've heard him tell this one a handful of times
My name is Jonah and at work this gets brought up at least once a day and I just say yep indeed I did get eaten by a whale
The way Taylor has these stories ready to go leads me to believe he owns one of those new bibles you can now get that break it down in a modern way including slang. I am not a believer but some of these new versions are good fun to read here's a list of some of the new versions

It's implied that he did learn his lesson after the LORD God spoke His last word to him in that book.
That's practically the most important part of the whole story, kinda ticked that Taylor just forgot it

Kinda annoying but funny that Kyle thought God was all cool with King David sending Bathsheba's husband off to the front lines, he was so pissed at him that he sent a prophet to reprimand him in front of his court.
God also cursed him by having conflict in his family where his sons tried to kill him.

I can only picture a young Jonah Hill while listening.
I believe the reason Jonah didnt want to go to Nineve, wasnt so much that he was afraid of them, but more that he hated them and didnt want to warn them of Gods wrath. He wanted God to go full Sodoma and Gomorra on them, but God wanted to save them.
Also its heavily implied that Jonah dies in the fish and that God ressurects him, on the third day.

To be charitable to the other side; no one on the podcast is attempting to defend the other side. No one can refute Kyle's point because no one is there to refute it.
Funniest part is he got multiple things 100% wrong lol
Kyle said things that are completely ignorant. He said God was completely ok with David's adultery and murder by proxy which is false. He also stated that God showed complete favoritism to the nation of Israel which is also false. He said God made mistakes with the tower which is wrong. Everything he said could have been resolved if he read the text.

Check out eucharistic miracles or holy fire for modern day christian miracles. Aside that, there is a lot of inexplicable things that happen in this world regardless of religion.
I digress, to your point; we all know what Hollywood is capable of. Then you have people like David Copperfield running around with cameras rolling as well. My point being that miracles happening with a camera rolling really wouldn't help your case all that much.
