For 57. That is nice.
I stayed in a hotel once in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The door frame was shattered. The bed had visible bedbugs. The tap water was brown. It smelled a lot like a dead body, which stood to reason as there was a body sized brownish red stain on the rug at the foot of the bed. When I looked out the window, I was treated to a beautiful view of ISIS shooting indiscriminately in the streets and burning all the stores. Pillars of black smoke were scattered across the horizon. After barricading the door with every piece of furniture, I put on my coveralls and “slept” on top of the sheets for an hour or two before being woken up to go to a rig site. I hadn’t slept in 3 days at this point as flight routing to Suly isn’t awesome. That room cost me 500 dollars. Life in the patch. Way she goes boys. Fuckin way she goes.

Sounds like Woody stayed at "The Edge" in downtown IC, which is also extremely out of the way from I-80, and means that Woody rode by no less then a dozen other hotels which are all priced much more reasonably and less out of the way.
The weekend of the iowa, iowa state game might have contributed to a lack of available hotel rooms. As well as prices.
If you’ve got a good air mat and a spacious car, then car camping always beats out hotels in my opinion. I’m flying home from Norway tommorow and Ive been here a month, only stayed 2 nights in a hotel and got amazing sleep every night. I saved at least 7000 on hotel costs slept in some seriously beautiful places

Was that the Come'n Go or In and Out hotel?
I used to work at a bad motel. over the course of 4 months working there I personally found bed bugs 3 times. There was a room out of order because it had been flashbanged by the police. There was a room that was essentially an active crack den, with buyers coming and going throughout the day. Same room had pet ducks in a dog cage in the corner, when the police kicked them out it smelled like a barn inside. There were multiple homeless people living in rooms paid for by family or govt money, which isn’t outrightly bad but these people were homeless for a reason if you know what I mean. One of them got arrested on property and spent a month in jail on my first day. Found a guy OD’d in the parking lot and had to call police and ambulance to come get him. He was apparently okay and came back about three weeks later to get his car once he got released from jail. Front desk worker snorted pills in the bathroom and spent his entire night shift high out of his mind. It was a bad place😂

God woody is unbearable to listen to. First clip I’ve watched in months and this is how he’s reintroduced to me.
I used to be that sleepy eyed guy Kyle would wake up, best job ever. Got 25 hr to be in an office by myself on call. I would bring my Xbox and set it up to the boss’s big screen and game. Then sleep the last 2 hours of my shift

I stay in bad hotels when I go out of town. Usually like 35 to 45 bucks a night and in the hood. Prostitutes, fiends, reminds me of home. And I have way more money to do activities and go to events. Just take a can of Lysol, check for bed bugs and mind your business so nobody messes with you. And ask for new sheets.

I think his boomer character adds a valuable perspective and he also kind of acts as the lowest hanging fruit, without him I feel everyone would just switch to attacking Kyle or Taylor.

They all synergize together pretty well, kind of a top gear personality trio, wouldn't feel the same without him.
If they were to change anything drastically they should either incorporate another co-host, similar to when a regular beloved guest like Tucker or Harley steps in for someone who can't make it, just on a more regular and scheduled basis, or give bts elements more of a vocal presence following the Rogan/h3 model and do more structured bits like the conspiracy shit, guessing games ect imo

I'm from that area & most of the hotels on the main drag in Gatlinburg are decent to really nice but the cabins are where it's at. Its well worth the extra.

When I was a kid we were coming back from vacation and couldn’t find a room like half way home. After a few stops found out Indy 500 was going on. Eventually my parents found a shit hole. I remember seeing a price of tape on the desk saying 40 bucks a night no refunds. We were in the room maybe 10 mins. I opened the bathroom and there was blood everywhere. It looked like someone finished the training day scene and just took the body when they left. I was around 8 years old.

I'm assuming there was a football game or something that weekend in Iowa City. The local airport becomes a zoo, if you don't have a jet, your plane is in the grass, others get thrown on an old runway. No atc tower either so it becomes hectic as hell.
