If you want something done right, do it yourself. Great job brother, that thing is exactly what the market is lacking, and exactly what most people want.
Thanks!!
Couldn’t agree more!
I really like it and enjoy modding too but isn't this basically a heavy duty skeletool?
@@thomast6823 probably so.
Dude, send that design to Gerber right now and tell them to make it and tell them to make it in the USA with premium blade steel and useful wire cutters
this is the multitool I have been looking for. All I want are pliers, driver and a decent blade. Well done sir, you win.
Thanks!
Damn man, this Frankentool is adorable af
Wow! It's a brain explosion! You managed to do it! Super! The idea lies on the surface. The author of the video showed what Gerber can do... Guys, let's help with Hvac Budget likes so that Gerber sees this and does it.
Thanks!
Man they are missing out hugely if they don't make this! They need you on their design team!
Thanks! I would love to work with them!
I got so excited for a minute until I realized these were home made! Damn
We can only hope Gerber will actually make a version.
@@hvacbudget8600 No we can hope someone else sees this and makes something similar. Gerber can't make anything right.
Gerber would take much of the PowerPint market with this!
So pissed, thought it was real 😢
The idea sounded good and now you can see it!! Looks great and hopefully Gerber will listen.
Now that's a true mod!!! Great job!!
This is so freaking cool. The ingenuity that you put into this mod is next level! Amazing job! 👏👍
Thanks!
And now we'll wait... Let's see if Gerber see what the crowd wants. Amazing job man!
Thanks!
Hopefully someone at Gerber likes your idea, and they start making it.
dude, great mod! I hope Gerber is taking notes!
😄👍
Gerber needs to do this, is a really good selection of tools, would be an amazing alternative to the powerpint, maybe bigger, but far more fuctional. Nice job.
Maybe adding a file would be cool
Good idea about the file!
If gerber and leatherman don't reach out and buy this from you as a prototype for some inspiration they are really missing out
Thank you!
Good size knife, ¼in bit driver, and the pliers are THICCC, all in such a convenient size. Maybe they should use the body of an armbar slim, and really high quality steel. That would make for an amazing size.
This is really awesome. Hopefully, someone comes out with a tool with a similar form factor.
I hope so too!
Gerber needs to make this. you should reach out to them about this
H, yes this we need more of these types of videos of you doing mods.
I have spent a GDP of a small country trying to find different tools sets that work with each out from Leatherman to bibiary. So I'm not for sure the type of viewers you have but I can say for myself and a few conversations I have had in your comment sections that it seems there is a good bit of us tinkers out there.
Even if it's only like 1 video a month of different customization projects that you're working on and updates on them would mean the world to us. Thanks and keep up the great work man.
Thank you!
FrankenGerber. Very cool project. I've always thought the same thing about those arm bars. They should just make a single unit out of those.
Wow! That is the perfect pocket sized multitool. I would definitely buy this design. Maybe add a file or just make a couple of variants, that way I would be buying another depending on what I want to carry that day. Cheers brother!🍻
Thanks!
Awesome idea and proof of concept! There is a lot of potential there!
Awesome. That is exactly what we need on the market. Now I want one
Wow. I can't imagine how many hours you spent fiddling around with this thing. It's a little Frankenstein-y, but the tool set is perfect. Well done 👍
Thanks!!
I thought this was real thing at first 😂! I got so excited. Would love something like that. Great work!
This is by far the coolest, cleanest small pocket Mod you've done, very very slick 👍😮🍻
Thank you! Appreciate that.
Being able to customize a multitool is something a lot of people that use multitools daily need! Just pick your tools and a compatible “frame”, set it up they way you want (inside pliers with wire cutter and stripper etc with the other tools such as a bit driver, knife, saw, or whatever on the outside and they’ll buy every one made! Make some different models and certainly made in USA! 👏
You ended up to make it real !
Yeah gerber can do something "better" but this is because they can make the frames.
But yeah Mini center drive should exist.
I wish they had more outside slots for things like a saw, and scissors.
The form factor should inspire since mini multitools like this are super useful for light work.
I agree!
My dream tool is the DL30/Surge Frame - Swap the scissors for the centered Driver, remove the 1/4 bit driver already in place of the DL30 and add in 4 implements
Cool idea!!
Don’t forget the multi tool that started the center drive. The MP 1 and the Balance (weird design) which all use the same bit kit with a magnet built in. But yes the need to do an upgrade on their multi tools.
Good reminder!
Well done man, love it. Would buy it 👍🏻🇮🇪🇬🇧
This is so great!! If Gerber is listening, I feel like this would be a smaller Leatherman killer; definitely better than the Juice, in my opinion!
There is really a lot of potential in the Armbar series!
Watching this video without audio, I actually thought this was a genuine new Gerber tool. Well done mate, LM quality on a versatile Gerber design.
Thanks!!
That's pretty dang cool man. Nice mod!
Thanks!
I'd buy this 100000 percent
That would give the SOG PowerPint a run for it's money!
Nice. Btw I think all your mods have turned out pretty decent.
Thanks!
I'd buy this if they got the locking driver to lock. Great work. I'd buy two if they had a TSA friendly version (scissors, file, screwdriver) as well. If the bit driver was deep enough to accept leatherman double sided bits as well as regular bits (think leatherman bit extension depth) so I could keep a double sided bit inside. I'd be ecstatic. I really like the idea of a small multitool with replaceable wire cutters so I don't screw up the tool if I bite off more than I can chew
Great ideas!
Great job sir🫡
informative and fascinating as usual 👏👍
Thanks!
Awesome Job! 👍🏻 The thick pliers seem real strong for a small multi -tool! Hope Gerber would actually produce something similar, it would be a good competitive size to something like the PowerPint!
My guy… this is a great mod.
Thanks!
I would love to have one made
I was so happy.... until I realized this isn't a new Gerber multi-tool about to be released to the Public. 😢
Nice job
Awesome!
Awesome 👍🏻
If they take ur design and make it I'm down for one I'll definitely buy one
That is Awesome
G'day mate.! Now we are talking "thinking outside the box". You must have had a lot of fun butchering in between frustration & cursing but once beyond the challenges, you look down and....Cowabunga.! It's a "Bitsa" multitool. You say it's rough, we say it's passion. A little bit of that, a little bit of this & a little bit of those hence "Bitsa". You've just created excitement on the Tube. Not waiting for Gerber or Leatherman, we're making one this weekend. Cheers mate from Australia.
Thanks!! It was a cool experience!
Great video.. thats genius!
Thanks!
Nice work. I mix biburry handles with Nextool flag shop pro spring loaded players and mini flag ship scizors 😅
Nice!
👍🏼Good modding hvac. I like it.
Thanks!
That’s pretty sweet
Very cool mod, id def buy something like this. Ngl though I cringed a little when you used the pliers to loosen the pivot 😂
Those Gerber disassembly tools definitely are cool!
INTERESTING !!
this is awesome. along these lines could you maybe look into the possibility of bibury's three leatherman clones compatibility? I found out recently that they all have the same innards sizes except for the surge clones outer tools. what I was going for was the surge's t-shank adapter, the wave's and surge's scissors and 3d bit driver, and the signal's combo blade and hammer end, however I couldn't formulate the correct sequence to mash them together properly and I am hoping you can succeed where I failed
cool
SOG Watching the Vid like 👀
LoL!
minor problems with centering, but overall it turns out nice
Cool
Good job!
If it would have scissors it would be a perfect set for me! Not packed full of flimsy, unnecessary tools
I saw you had a pocket clip on your Center Drive. Can you tell me which one you’re using? I’ve been looking for a good option and so far have came up empty. Thanks
I had a utility knife with a pocket clip and I robbed it from that knife.
Nice to have large pliers in a very compact space. Sometimes the mini tools overdo the miniaturization of the pliers. Question is if they made this by reusing gerber part what pliers would they use? Maybe just remove the spring from the one you showed first?
That would be great since the Gerber MP800 plier head fits and it's fairly tough. It's rare and cool when a mod like this works, LoL!
It would be good to have several types of multitools, some with “regular” pliers, some with needle nose.
Upon thinking about this, the modular tools do not seem to have changeable pliers, yet, maybe they will do it in the future.
Can you please find out how to add a full size regular utility blade onto a folding multi tool. I dream of having a utility blade and 1/4in bit driver on the outside of a multi tool with a plier head. (Anything except roxon, roxon quality is meh)
That's a tough challenge. So of course the Roxon Phantom has one you can add on to it as part of its modular handle. The main issue is a multi tool handle has to be so thick to cover a wide utility blade or the utility knife would need to stick so far above the handle most people don't like the looks of that. Gerber made the cable dawg and Groundbreaker which are unfolding tools but have wide removable handles perfect for a utility knife. (The Groundbreaker actually had one in it's handle) Again a nonfolding tool is a deal breaker for most. I'll look into it again and see what can be done.
interesting- but I would never be able to do it
Can we get an EXACT breakdown/how to on the build cause Id love to make this for myself as it seems perfect for what Id prefer to carry.
Maybe. Thanks for the interest!
@hvacbudget8600 of course! My dad and I share builds and ideas and he was really intrigued. It's already mostly a guide, but what were missing is what spacers go where or what needs to be modified. Overall great video and idea!
This is so cool. Could be a decent PowerPint alternative.
I think so! Definitely a bit heavier at a bit over 6oz but I like it.
@@hvacbudget8600 I'm sure if they really want it they will make it lighter. Afterall yours is just a DYI prototype, but they have all the tech they need to make it happen.
Weight isn’t that much of a consideration to some people as long as the multitool has the tools people need to do the jobs!
Where did you get the belt clip for the center drive?
From an old utility knife.
Where did you get a pocket clip for your centerdrive?
Off of a cheap utility knife
Where can I buy? You're on a winner!
Thanks!
See if you can “copyright” your Frankenstein multitool too
Are there any multi tools with a sim card ejector?
Definitely, the new Nextool mini sailor lite comes to mind and I think Roxon and Nextool have a couple models with some.
Maybe use the strata pliers?
That might work!
Does that bottle cap lifter work well?
I rarely ever use a bottle cap lifter. I haven't heard much complaints about it though.
🙋🏻♂️I want one!
How much would you charge for something like that
Unfortunately I don't have enough time to offer these for sale. Maybe one day.
Frankenstein Geber
Definitely. LoL!
Frankengerber
Frankentool
Gerber will make this but a worse version to save money.
I am so disappointed with my dual force. Wire cutters don’t cut anything, the file is dull and virtually useless. Great idea, TERRIBLE execution.
