The painter when he sees this episode:
"W. T. F., man!"
Every time he's had it painted something major was destroyed that same night
Oh Tem, buddy. Wow. I swear, mate. I kinda feel like there's almost a curse to you getting the base painted. XD It almost always feels like the game looks at you with crossed arms and goes "Base is lookin' good. Let's see what I can do about that."
😊 Patiently waiting for The galaxy's best helldiver 2 news operator to release more news
Yeah this next week is going to be quite a show 😅
It's why we can't have nice things.
The main reason this always happens is that he doesn't finish upgrading everything. No excuse for cobble anywhere on this base and the whole front fighting area and up to three blocks high on the lower walls should be steel.
The suspense sells. Maybe unintentional, but fully pheasable for the content he creates. This is art here. It will never and should not ever be perfect, that's what makes it unique ❤
PSG-1 is an HK sniper rifle modeled after the G3 battle rifle. Snake used one in Metal Gear Solid. OG, son.
it's also a $20,000 rifle :)
@@V_v_V_3301 So just standard H&K pricing then?
Epic episode! Required blood pressure medicine + zanaz + valium washed down with a bottle of bourbon. What a show today!!
"Big Momma Got No Legs" is definitely a lost delta blues standard.
You have over 50 vitamins Tem, you should take 5 or so to any T5 job and just take as needed. Solves the infection problem once and for all.
Plus you might want to consider adding a couple stacks of first aid to the bike for "emergencies"
There's also this drone thing with a Medic Mod which help's quite a bit...Is he aware of this?
One thing I like to do with high level quests in the watelands is make a stack of tin can land mines and seed them at choke points as I go. Takes care of some of the following screamers and their followers at the cost of some noise. Thanks for the video, Lead & Steel!
Nice idea. Landmines are underused in a lot of playthroughs. I've found I can position them in protected positions behind a Z's line up as well, and shoot the mine when I need to clear a horde out. You know, because I can't throw a grenade /through/ the Z's in front of me.
you have enough vitamins that you could take 3 every morning that way it prevents infections for most of the day.
At least take them before a Horde or a Tier 5 poi.
Great idea 🤒
I always take 3 before a horde night.
He will forget to take them, don't worry. I think he does it to keep up on the edge of our seats!
Wow! Can't blame you for bailing on the Two-Bit disaster, that POI on super-infestation is crazy! Thank you for the accidental demonstration of what can happen when Demos are on 300% block damage. It could have been worse, thankfully it was not and you still have all your stuff near as I can tell. Those cops have been spitting through your window panes for a while now, but at 300% the damage to the wall that guards your stuff is unacceptable. That's a BS mechanic, btw, the spit through solid blocks without destroying them. That and the zombies seeing you through solid blocks. Great job not dying, down to 4 HP at one point! 😃
Great video mate. Loved the production, music, editing, had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire way through. You are THE benchmark for quality production.
Oh....so......so....good!!! That was intense!! Thanks Tem my friend, cheers mate.
I really thought I was going to bleed out over at the two-bit tower 🤯
The silencer mod starts working only when you fully spec in that sneaky kill skill, which is in Agility. Something about Shadows that lowers noise of your activity.
Yep. From the Shadows skill. Of course, wandering around in full metal heavy armor (20% noise increase per piece) doesn't help. And the extra bonuses from a good Compound Crossbow with steel bolts make FtS skill + Hidden Strike skill very worth investing in. You play slower, but you can simply snipe and one-shot headshot almost everything but demos and bears from stealth.
It bears noting that headshot multiplier is ON TOP of stealth bonus. So if you are getting +5.5x stealth damage, and you have 10 Agility (300% headshot damage), that crossbow shot is getting 19.5 TIMES your weapon damage. So if that crossbow fired steel arrow is doing 140 points of damage (and steel bolts/arrows count as AP, so Penetrator perk applies) the total damage on a stealth headshot would be 2730 points of damage. With max penetrator skill, those arrows/bolts will also reduce armored targets to at least half their armor rating. So it won't KILL a demolition zombie in one shot....but it'll halve their health in that one shot.
Oh, and it DOES apply to Exploding Bolts/Arrows......and explosive damage ignores armor rating so it pretty much ignores the Demolition zombie defenses. A single explosive bolt fired into the head of a demo will one-shot it (from stealth and max related skills).
High-level stealth play is hideously powerful.....but slow.
He also tends to always have his headlamp on which is why most zombies wake quickly if he's near.
@@mechanical_chaos - Well, that AND that he's running around in heavy armor without muffled connectors mods. He really doesn't know how to play stealthily.
3:40
Such a Resident Evil Moment with the Underground Garage and Zombie Dogs :D
You should get rid of the middle lane on the horde base and just use the left and right one.
The spacing in the fire house doesn't provide a large enough gap between the lanes to prevent demo explosions from hitting adjacent ones.
Definitely going to be starting on one side with the opposite side being the secondary position and the middle as a last resort
You really need a club for these missions.
He would have to dump points in it or it would be worthless
Everyday dose of infection, keeps the doctors away 😂
Wow... that was an experience! I guess that 300% block damage makes those demo's especially bad. You lucked out with the morning bell. Between the 2 Bit Tower and the Hoard I am a little out of breath. Need to get something to drink and take a nap...
A LOT of tanking from you in this episode! A sign of growing confidence ha ha ha
Fantastic video today!!!! The music matching the shots at 33:40 was epic. I always enjoy your videos, GNS. Your voice is clear and precise, no cussing or disgusting language either. Very professionally done... definitely my favorite gamer to watch.
Wow! A lot of adversity at the Two Bit Tower! Ya nearly died! Down to only 4 HP? Massive infection? Good decision to retreat early before completing that quest! I just love your 7D2D videos!
A PSG-1a1 sniper rifle. That brings back some Metal gear solid memories.
You got better loot in the first few rooms of that hotel than the end loot of every other poi. Don't forget to check Jen to stock up on first aid!
That was a pretty epic episode Tem, really enjoying this series man!
That is a risky playstyle O_o
PS: And also an extreme challenge!
10:02 big bro made a 360 😂
I'm definitely ready for a regular playthrough, not a bullet sponge kick your teeth in adventure. Don't get me wrong, I love this with all the gun action.
i love this content keep it up👍🏻👍🏻
Really smart thinking to become more and more resistant to the virus every day.
That was pretty intense Tem. Keep it going!
Wow that was 1 hell of a horde goodluck
That was one hell of an episode. You were slapped a few times and nearly bought the ticket
my PC will explode with that amount of zombies lol
11:24 interesting fact about silencers; they ain't actually made to suppress the sound but more to distort it so you can't hear where it comes from; and some also to minimize light flash again to make it harder to tell where its comming from.
if you need sound suppression you need specific silencers and to use subsonic ammo (that doesnt break the speed off sound-barrier) which will heavily impact the penetration, travel distance and force off impact on the bullets; so much lower dmg.
the more you know :D
The first thing I though about when you’ve settled on the current base design is Demolishers. When the block damage is high - “pole” bases just don’t work in the later stages
Such an epic battle, both at the tower and at the base. So intense, really enjoying this series!
I love your videos Mr. GNS and this one was no different. The wheel spin now is a big game changer compared to a week ago. Also, it might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't like the foreshadowing bit. It's like getting into a really good book or movie and then someone comes along and spoils the ending before you get to it.
Awesome episode!!! But yes, you have to upgrade everything to steel!! Without exception. Forget the bullet proof glass, just make it all steel. Can't wait to see the next episode! Please keep up the great work!
Wow! That was CRAZYYYYYY
You know shit gets real when the painters show up xD
I was waiting for a demo to completely blow everything up since you don't reinforce the floors or pipes, and I wasn't disappointed when it finally happened. It was inevitable.
You have stacks of vitamins. You even sold several stacks early on. You should be taking them out with you in these missions.
Yes, that episode did earn a subscription
Daaaaaaaaamn!!! What an epic episode! Just pure awesomeness 👌
Now this series is getting REALLY good
Awesome episode
new to the game and love this series so far. Because of you i made my first base on the same location as you, but more stoneage like :D keep up the great work.
One hell of a challenge series. Have me at on my ass waiting for the next episode 🤘🤘
Wow, what an intense episode.
Now the meta of your base should be one lane or the other I think, because if a demo explodes, maybe it would only affect one lane and the middle one.
But was it steel? Steel should resist at least one or two demo explosions. But with 300% block damage... Really don't know.
Very nice episode and great paint job.
the number of zombies in that POI... is Too Damn High! o.O
this was intense ! mostly died many times
Unbelievable how you survived all that...
Maybe consider locking in some vitamins in your backpack for those Tier 5 pois Tem.
Damn bear watched all your series….i out this one top 2 awesome
Might be time to invest in passive healing with all these close calls. The drone with the healing mod, healing factor if you can deal with the hunger, or of course maxing out fists book but that means switching over to knuckles.
You need walls to divide up those lanes and limit the demo explosions for this situation. May look ugly but it works.
5:47 I’m nerding out here, but the PSG-1 is a sniper/DMR made by the same people that made the MP5.
Also, I’d run a 2/4x scope for POIs
well that was intense
Epic!! Keep it up! No dying allowed since good just got awesome!
Upgrades all over the place!!
There must be a method to increase difficulty without stuffing every single voxel of a POI with zombies. The higher tier quests are so repetitive: trigger zombies, retreat / run out of building, kill off the zombies, go back in, start cycle again.
It's just the nature of the game, all enemies are basically just trying to run at you and pin you down, and there isn't really anything beyond that to the gameplay. Quests don't really change how you handle POIs significantly enough IMO, they're just an excuse to go in a building and shoot zombies. The unique zombies are mostly just different flavors of running after you. I think they would have to rethink things a bit more to be like Left 4 Dead, where you really had to be aware of what kind of zombie you were dealing with, what might be around the corner, what you could run into if you panicked, etc. At the same time I think a lot of people also like that the game is just "shoot horde of things running at you", so the devs probably don't want to rock the boat. I know there's overhauls that add different types of zombies, but I doubt anything drastically changes how POI's are handled. Even just having stuff like demos/screamers show up in higher level POI's might change it up enough to where you really need to be more careful and avoid always running and gunning, but then maybe that would force stealth builds, etc. It's a hard issue to solve at this point.
@@asdadsgsaadasf6043 yes you're right.... Changing this would require a lot of fundamental changes to the game.
I like playing the Nomad where I limit myself 1-2 days in any POI. My last blood moon had me running to 4 locations to survive which is a heck of a lot of fun. I've recently made it so all my stuff in my backpack is lost for a bit of challenge. I'm using the Was of the Walkers mod on insane.
Don't play so this may be a dumb suggestion. Would it be smart to start growing your own Aloe soon? For improved first aid crafting.
First time I was ever screaming at the computer for you to look out.🤣😂😆 It got a little rough.
I think you might even have to double-up the walkway poles that come to your entrance to give something a better chance of surviving - especially if you are getting Demos with 300 percent damage again. Even then, keeping your wall intact is "?"
“Big Momma’s got no legs.”, a sentence you shall not likely hear a again in the near future.
TBH I thought you were insane to tackle 2 bit tower with ultra infestation with mostly melee. It’s one of the tier 5 POIs that has a ton of zombies and it’s close quarters makes it hard for run and gun builds. Pretty good loot you found though! Good trade for a few medkits and bandages! If you go against nightmare speed zombies in an ultra infestation again I recommend starting out with the shotgun (shotguns with points slow down sprinting and nightmare zombies) with the duckbill mod to slow them down enough for you to use your melee weapons
makes it look so fun :D
Head Shots: Zombies ONLY take damage from head shots
doesnt seem to be working correctly; 9:11 as well as lots off body shots killing ^^
explosive dmg should prop hurt yourself more; a grenade right to your face should kill or critical enjoy i would say :P ^^
I wish that players could download your bases 💯
been waiting so long for that place to get messed up😊
so i started a world with some of the mods you have, and i decided why not try perception because i have ALWAYS written it off, even in your current series.
Holy crap. I am now a HUGE fan of both spears and snipers because of it. I set up in Jon's Ham Radios, i dont know who was hear last but they left the tower in rough shape. A single Sledge with a 3x3 tower and 3 ladders has given me zero trouble, just saw my own first demolisher on Night 30 (3 day blood moons), the AP and penetrator is like THE anti-demolisher.
Im considering trying Agility next, which ive only even gone into for parkour. Knives frankly seem utterly useless but who knows. Maybe Fortitude for the Unarmed style, but that lack of range has got to make hordes tough.
The weapons in Izayo packs with a star are the top tier ones. They are only lootable and buyable at traders. only 2 shotguns are better than the Trenchgun. CVAS-12 (my fav) and the Hexagun. Both will wreck just about anything. The PSG-1 and the M21-SOCOM are the t4 snipers. PSG is more powerful, but slower to fire. The SOCOM is full auto capable. I love variety in weapon choice and the Izayo packs are my fav.
Not looking forward to the 1.0 release. I don't need to worry about different sets of armor... You'll wear the DPS armor most of the time, find a hard to see coal node in the wasteland... then have to run back home to get different armor. No thanks. Eh, my PC probably won't handle 1.0 anyway, hard enough on it in A21 and 64 zombie hordes. 😰
My favorite base design is the funnel system. Maybe you can make a hallway where the blade traps are to add more blades to help weaken the zombies with turrets at the height for headshots. Hope that helps
Hello there, 1 common thing i forever noticed is that 7daystodie youtubers always do not bring cobblestone blocks and raw cobblestones to set up chokepoints and explosives despite knowing that infestation, especially wastelands can be no joke.
craft the ghille suit for stealth kills. helps alot
That POI is super difficult in the Forest biome.
Last time I did the Shotgun Messiah factory in wasteland I snipered 70 zombies from the roof.
Well that answers my question haha.
There comes a time when steel is the only material to use
Epic!
Well, _that_ explains why yesterday was so quiet. They were all off getting radiation injections and demolitions training!
The silencer is only good for long range snipeing and pistols . It's not very effective on higher caliber weapons when trying to clear a poi all the other zombies wake up most of the time. Now if you have all the stealth perks things work out a little differently.
See if you can build the sniper for hipfire and just no scope all the zombies. You gotta hit the 360.
Man trying to take out rads with melee 😂😂😂 that building need firepower
Congrats on not dying when the demo went. It would have been nice to have the poles survive the explosion but it's better to look at it as your defensive emplacement doing its job in extremity, like it's supposed to. @shiriaru612 has the right idea, I think. Ditch the central lane so that a demo explosion can't wipe out all three lanes at once. Though, to be fair, I think you've already discussed doing that.
Legit gasp
IIRC Vanilla silencer don't work with Izayo's weapons.
You have to craft Izayo's Silencer
I'm surprised that it took so long for the demos to appear.
A friend and I had one during our first horde night at day 7. during our wasteland playthrough
The spear is such a good weapon, unfortunately in the late game it only works in defensive positions, when the zombies are running around so fast, and you have no area of effect in your melee weapon, it really falls off compared to the Clubs and sludge hammers, even the stun baton.
A clean paint job, as opposed to a dirty paint job? 🤔 That light wow... Kept rubbing my eyes thinking there was something there... haha... I'm not exactly a "day walker" though...
Well you are boned mate, i suggest a backup hordebase or choose and clear a near by building to fall back to. Classic example of not shitting where you eat, aka combining crafting base and horde base.
I hope you noticed that the PSG-1 has 6 mod slots which is going to make it insanely powerful
Oooooh man, you are in serious trouble. You are in the age of steel and dont have steel to work with. As it stands your base is going to get wrecked every time a demo goes off. Even concrete is going to get jacked up. Thats the downside of horde every night games, especially in this alpha where getting a crucible is so much harder. If you dont have access to multiple forges worth of steel to fully upgrade that base, you are a single mistake from doom. Of course, even with steel its like 2-3 mistakes tops. :p
18:29 Lucky for you, you’re not Marty McFly and none of those zombies called you a chicken. That was brutal. Wise decision.
If you have any more close calls with base getting blown up like that you should make like a backup base or something you can go when everything goes wrong (I usually do it cuz I suck and sometimes the horde is too strong and I can never get enough materials to make a tank of a base)
Also loved the vid
Could you possibly turn one of your side catwalks into something that could do for an emergency, fall-back, non-ideal last position? Alternatively, you could switch to a side lane the moment a Demo turns up. That way even if you have a bad enough failure that, idk, two Demos go off and destroy even your upgraded situation, the far side might be okay. In the center, if it's bad enough to trash that position, it can also impact both sides.
This was epic :)
stuns batons are better for panic situations
At least one of the Crack-A-Book POIs is a Tier 3 so you might wanna check the T3 quests if you're looking for one.
Blade traps will not set off a Demo if it hits their legs, so you'll want to stop using the top-mounted blades now that the Demos have joined the Hordes trying to claim a piece of Tem.
Im always surprised by how little you use your guns. Like during horde night I strictly use guns, no melee. I think you should think about doing the same, and really lean hard into the sniper. That will make it much less likely to have demos go off. even if you hit the button if the sniper is out and ready you can prob kill before they pop. Also MAKE EVERYTHING STEEL wtf lol, chillin in a half wood half cobblestone base haha.
Can't say for 100% but I had a base built that had 10 blade traps stacked 2 high on each fighting position and the blade traps never set demos off. it was during a demos only play through. so if it was going to set them off I would think that would be when.
