You should daisy chain a light ontop of each of those fence houses, that way if the fence gets broken the light will go out!
I don't think you can. You can only have 1 wire going in and 1 wire coming out on fences. Well unless you double the fence posts so you can put a light between them.
Seeing how effective the wiring stalls the zombies, maybe you should run a line across the top pathing to stutter the zombies a few feet from your position.
While rewiring the base would be a complete nightmare I think that would be a really cool idea.
When you started placing the concrete blocks at the end, I was literally like: "uhhhhh" 🤣
Same 😂
This series has turned into GNS gets over run by zombies for 40 mins
It really should be titled "What combination of unfortunate zombie options are we looking at today?". I can't believe we're still shy of day 40.
I absolutely love the 1h long episodes ❤
I love your longer content now! I'm watching playlists of your old stuff and you've come so far! Keep it up!
Best source of paper (if you aren't needing dukes) is scrapping the dollars you get from ATMs and cash registers
That would be my answer as well xD
You can empty ATM's and scrap the money for paper. Its super fast to get some this way :D
I second this, cash for paper!
"ARLENE!" I felt that one right before the houses raid.
Lol I like to think that for this series, the ultra infested pois are the ones people chose to shelter in, obviously, it didn't work well for them...
"An extra fish taco never hurt anybody." I don't believe you. The first taco always gets mad and fights with the other taco after you've had them both.
If you want to do stealth kills with guns you need to spend points in stealth and not wear noisy armor.
Your blade traps are getting destroyed because of how you are placing them. Don't put them directly in a bottleneck, put them above or embedded in the side wall a few blocks back from the end.
what about some blade traps in indents along the outsi waall where they are running in a line?
Excellent, back to the two days per episode! Works well!
Love the hour long videos. Please keep doing these
"Look what we did to the lounge area back here. OMG, it reminds of my college days." LOL! Oh do tell!
Love these two-day episodes! Thanks for all the work you put into making them.
I like the extra day, longer videos.
That apartment battle had me jumping!
One of the best "You should be dead" vids I've seen.
Stealth mission, proceeds to use grenades and shotgun, stealth 😂
The MUSIC !! Another WIN !
Rough one this time. And with things starting to ramp up again, it'll only be rougher and rougher as we go. Stay strong, Tem! We're with you all the way!
What a cliff hanger at the end being trapped in like that 😂
"Extra fish tacos never hurt anyone. "
I wish I could go back to the days I believed this...
The video starts with contact grenades on bears…gonna be a good one. 😂
28:49 that dodge and weave was inspiring
44:51 lol wow nice catch! You'll have to show Jawoodle that move haha
Idea: Turrets on raised platforms inside base pointed at the doors. This way, they will shoot at any zombies running out to come back up the stairs. As such, they should never trigger buttons. Because the platforms will be raised, the turrets will be pointed down, increasing the odds they will hit zombie heads.
What GNC needs here is turrets that you can target certain types of zombies like NOTD . Imagine having turrets that you can target screamers, cops or demos only
@@1969chgoodwin: He could also use his observer character to float on the sidelines for when demos come in. Keep that character's POV on another screen for him to glance at briefly. That way, he doesn't accidently hit a demo because he can't see. Zombies are good at blinding the fighters, but they don't even target the observer.
Turrets haven't been able to trigger buttons for some time (official change), only robotic turrets/sledges can do this now. :)
so glad you're back to 2 days per episode. Love it.
So. Many. Zombies. Wow, the tower was crazy. Those little Tier 2 houses were crazy. Horde went well though, unintended explosions aside. Electric fence for the win!
One reason i stopped playing.. Every house / place is a poi now with a lot of zombies in every corner. Just no fun anymore (for me).
The Crack-a-Book HQ still has a lot of paper rolls in the basement, along with a million zombies.
I was watching you throw those blocks out and wondered if you were going to trap yourself... sooooo funny! Looking forward to the next one - hopefully with no demo explosions.
I am one of those 'harvest EVERYTHING' sort of players and I DO break down all boxes I see. That is STILL not enough paper for shotgun shell production. Though, it also yields TONS of Scrap Polymers for AP and explosive rounds. So, in addition to boxes, you should ALWAYS be getting bones. Animals, corpses, gore piles and cow skulls should never be passed up. Plus, nowadays, you need a HUGE Dew Collector farm (preferably away from base) to process the bones. This also yields TONS of rotten flesh for Farm Plots and Hobo Stew.
Love these videos Mr. GNS. I appreciate the hard work you put into them. Going to be over 250K before you know it. Well deserved, Tem. Thank you.
IMPORTANT TIP: The best way to get paper to make shotgun shells is from cash found an ATM machines, scrap them for thousands of pieces of paper. So start chasing’ that paper!
Massive hoard going on and Tem crafts a sign. Wtf? LMFAO.
Those 5 Houses in the Desert actually reminded me of Postal 4 for some reason 😄
The basement of crack a book HQ if a good place for paper.
The very bottom of the Crack-A-Book HQ has a bunch of reams of paper, like the old paper mill had. It is good for several stacks of paper. It could be a death trap however with your game stage. If you can survive it though.......
Also can I say I'm really enjoying the double episodes. Like it was really weird when you first started the series and it was only one episode which I understand you know horror night usually a good ending point for an episode but I think double episodes are like your thing you know your bread and butter because Glock doesn't do it. Genosis. Doesn't. No one really does
Great episode, spear once again doing more bad than good
First time watching . I’m really impressed… great work!
That one poor snake in the beginning.. no one has gone for his... ankles! *dies*
FINALLY he uses vitamins
Still the best 7DTD youtuber.
My boy Tem doesn't have a day of rest.
Your long form videos fly by. Good going, Tem.
I would be inclined to pick up three of those lighted OPEN signs and put them outside above each entrance, wired to the switches. That way the zombies feel welcome and know which lane is available for their pleasure.
You could put a 45 degree wedge block in the corners that would help the zombies navigate around where the blade traps are.
I think the spear falls off super hard in a horizontal base where the zombies are coming at you horizontally in a line. But in a vertical base where they are coming at you from below, the spear really shines. It makes headshots almost impossible to miss; ladder bases are incredibly easy to make; The Penetrator doesn't screw you over in a demo horde. The only weakness I can think of is cop spit, but what base exists where cop spit isn't an issue? I honestly think ladder bases are the way to go for a spear build.
was litterly looking 3 minutes ago if it was uploaded. nothing. i watch another vid. its uploaded. what an wonder. time to enjoy this playtrough alot
i love seeing the base grow.
39:47 today's X-factor: infected dogs have evolved into having gills
I'm getting vehicle chassis and bodies out of loot bags fairly regularly, but I've been playing in the same map for ages. Getting them on day 31 is impressive,
Nice one again.
The crack a book tower has 3 or 4 big rolls of paper in the basement, which give 100 units of paper each if I remember correctly.
And for stealth build, I think it would be light armor and silenced pistol or nothing. I played it, it works pretty well, but with feral sense I don't know.
Hey Tem, its great to hear some new tunes recently in the series! The old ones were great, but they got a bit stale repeating dozens times over the previous series, and those new ones are a great breath of fresh air!
What a cracking episode mate! Brilliant mix, cheers cobber, thanks.
holy bear horde batman o.O
What a way to start the morning right! Tem, you’re absolutely insane doing all this by yourself. Massive props.
Would be really cool to have hydraulics, pumps, levers, automations, etc.
Hydraulic floor traps that can lift up, fake floor trap or a press to squash zombies.
Pumps that can set up to shoot out flames or even acid.
And automations for gardening and super reduntant task.
Even just being able to a official version of the door walkway pathing could just be hydraulic floor set up.
Good source of paper is the basement of the crack a book hq. The printing machine has a few rolls. I know at least 500 paper worth.
I am playing a "ninja" build and I have both stealth perks maxed out and it is very nice. You can almost jump on top of sleeping zombies without waking them up. I recommend
Are you using light armor?
@@TDurden527 no all heavy but i do have all the mods on them tho
This is what non-stealth players fail to realize. You need to fully spec into stealth, run quiet-ish armor, and ALWAYS sneak. Use quiet weapons. Making a big noise will wake EVERYTHING in range, so don't make those big noises! Avoid using your headlamp/flashlight/burning-shaft-modded-weapons, as they make you stand out like a sore thumb. Anything louder than the standard Pistol with silencer will wake things within 10-15 blocks distance. Stick to bow/crossbow/silenced-pistol and melee. Learn to avoid the typical spots that trigger aggro using frame ramps and take the time to stay at a distance and bow snipe.
One or two points into stealth won't help much at higher gamestages, and wearing noisy armor firing loud weapons. Even the quietest rifle (with a silencer) makes WAY more noise than the silenced pistol does. Especially if your armor is noisy. Stealth play requires fully committing to the style, once your gamestage is over 30. Prior to that you can often get away with just sneaking......but not afterward.
It takes longer to go through POIs, but it is incredibly safe. With enough points in Agility, Archery, Hidden Strike, Penetrator, and good mods, even really tough zombies go down in one stealth headshot. Only Demolition zombies can take the top tier Compound Crossbow/Steel Bolt stealth headshot with those skills maxed. And with Agility 10, you've still got a very good chance of dismember, which on a headshot is insta-kill. The only real drawback is the time it takes to be properly stealthy.......which makes it less stream-worthy and makes larger T4 POIs take an entire day at least, and T5 POIs take multiple days.
@@heliumphoenix Sorry mate, but I'm going to have to call you out on this. Stealth objectively does not work anymore due to all the trigger points TFP have put in basically every single POI. Everyone knows this. Perhaps this would have worked fine in A20, but as it stands, stealth is entirely worthless as a playstyle. The rest of the agility tree is fine though, but Hidden Strike / From The Shadows are nowadays as worthless as The Infiltrator or Pack Mule.
@@DarkSunGameplay - No worries. And you aren't "calling me out" on this. Trigger "points" as you call them are simply activation volumes. If you know how they work, you can predict (or remember) where they are. Because of HOW they work, you can predict them pretty easily......because they are VERY computationally expensive, they can only put so many in a POI. And they link to a room volume, affecting all enemy spawns within that defined volume. This means they are usually placed right inside a doorway, at the top/bottom of a stairwell or ladder, etc.
And the key part of this is that the trigger volume ONLY triggers if the player is fully inside it when the game cycle engine ticks. Which means that a simple ramp frame place down on it can allow the player to bypass triggering it. It's not guaranteed, as you may get unlucky and step in JUST as the tick happens. Of course, with stealth, enemies "lose" track of you much quicker, so shutting the door and sneaking away into a shadowed area can cause all those aggro'd zombies to lose track of you before they can get through the door.
Many such rooms can be stealthed, just by careful avoidance of the "trigger areas" and jumping/framing around above the ground on top of desks/cabinets/etc. so that you don't enter those volumes. Trap floors are often used to drop a player ONTO a trigger volume. So always walk around carefully, and keep your eyes out for spots where they are likely, and make a mental note of them (when you find them) for future reference.
Stealth play wasn't eliminated, TFP just made it harder to use it effectively. It's still quite viable. It just takes a bit more thinking and playing slow and methodically. I even mentioned some of this in my prior comment.
I stealth play in the current build of the game (PC) and I often go through entire POIs without waking a single mob. Especially if I know the POI well. Yes, even at high gamestages and in high-tier POIs.
I would try changing the blocks on either side of the blade traps to wedge tips, remove the ladder under the left fighting position and remove the railings in the middle of the pit so they will have to go across lanes to get through the traps and not bottleneck themselves so much at that corner.
Everyone loves the gyrocopter, while I end up sticking with the 4x4... Dunno, it just never clicked for me but I tend to stay grounded in most games like this or ARK.
If you end up unlucky enough to get multiple demo blasts in short order at any point... Well, hopefully you can get that 'Days Since Last Demo Blast' sign up to double digits.
The Crack-a-Book HQ has 800+ paper in its basement btw.
Since this fine series is starting to reach its end, I really would like to see you challenging and rewarding "War3zuk" mode, mate. It would be the most fun thing to see how you are able it beat it.
Finish the daring adventurer, it will give you the best options in the trader stores so you could get more solar cells
Tem needs to upgrade his kit! Get a semi-auto shotgun instead of a pump action and get an LMG! You can't operate in CQC with a sniper rifle!
His lack of auto shotgun and machineguns has puzzled me for a few episodes. Almost like he has decided to play a rifle/spear build no matter what. Some of the times he is almost over run . . . and he pulls out a rifle and I'm like . . . an M60 would be nice right now, or even an smg.
You could use the Blade traps like you were trying to do on the entrance to the poles. Sideways hit the heads. Right where the existe the base to turn and come back. It will be easier to repair and wont get destroyed.
Updating comment because I saw you do the double plate! :) You should stagger the levels in your pit so if a demo goes off in one of the pits, it is less likely to affect the other pits.
Those colorful pallet near the paper pallets at 47:18 is paper too
man i love your editing
If you only put in the materials for electric fences/traps you can have a dedicated repair block for it 👊
for the blade traps if you put the scaffolding ladders around it it should help with the dmg reduction on the traps
For paper, the orange "crushed" paper palettes, its like rounded looking? Those are good and also the sneak trash alert things ! They only give one but at your level you can one shot them.
Maybe an electric fence put across the top as they come down the pole toward you to slow them down? or right in front of the fighting position to prevent them from hitting the blocks so much.
The best way to get a lot of paper for shotgun is to scrap dollars instead of selling them to the traders. This way for my recent run I've got enough paper... water/glue is too tedious to "farm" to craft paper normal way.
Well, this episode started off with some excitement.
Always like the early est posts😊
Scrap the red books Tim for paper.
If you wanna stealth you have to use light armor and i suggest you should wear ghillie suit jacket too, and use crossbow.
keep it up man
Can’t wait to finally play the new version of this game after playing console for ages
It's so cool that we're all going to finally be playing the same game
@@GunsNerdsandSteel hey I’ve just got a quick question, so I’ve been using the club as my weapon and in the new version I want to obviously use something new. What do you think I should use?
if you need to get good amounts of paper you can always break into an atm and scrap the cash you pull out.
The reason stealth wasn't working very well was because of the Feral Sense I think. I'm almost certain that makes it nigh on impossible to stealth.
You gotta install an elictric fence right in front of your fighting Position.
craft the GHILLE SUIT for stealth. reduces visibility and noise
book hq basement has big rolls of paper, in the middel.
You're actually losing on a lot of bones by harvesting animals with the axe, the knife would give you a lot more of resources, considering you use a lot of glue, it's a worthwhile investing. Maybe if you find a good machete you should keep it, it's pretty much just as effective as a axe.
Best source of paper for me is scrapping old cash
at this point i wonder how much fun for him is left in this series. i can imagine that its basicly only annoying anymore if you get overrun by radiated cops in tier 1 POIs.
I remember Z-Nation ffs had a mod last alpha that increased durability on blade traps.
if your looking for allot of paper there are two I can think of. one is the paper mill place that has allot of paper rolls and the other is crack a book HQ in the basement. I know the crack a book has over 800 paper but I think the paper mill has way more.
37:55 Crack-a-Book POIs. Scrap any you've already read for paper.
there is a mod that lets the leveraction rifle use . 44 ammo gets kinda op when you finish the magnum enforcer series because of the target penetration and the target penetration you get from the rifle skill penetrator but its one way of getting rid of the .44 ammo you can also just scrap it and use the material for what you need
Pimp bombs are OP
I'm wondering if you could use the way they tend to logjam at the firehouse front because of the electric fences to install some dart traps in the ceiling over the stack-up zones, which would theoretically help some on headshot only days. The risk with those is setting off cops, but if the front of the base gets a little chewed up, it matters much less than the fighting area.
Just a thought, but you may think about having floor pressure plates in front of the three paths to open or close the path to the window. May still want to keep the switch above connected to in case of emergencies, but with the plate at least all you'd have to do would be just walk to the window and the path would open up.
And maybe put the bars back up to stop cop spit again. :p
You can just put a few ramp blocks on the corners and it could be a solution to try
48:51 I don't know what setting you usually play with during these playthroughs, but if you don't want to deal with the amount of crab, i would suggest a lower Loot abundance setting (like 50% maybe? I only play on 25% and it's like self torture xD)
It is rarely used, but for that tower in the wasteland the rocket launcher would have been great.
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much for the support! Hope you enjoy the next one, it's a base building banger 😁
The paper recipe is out of balance. It would be an easy fix: either have paper cost wood and water and/or rebalance the amount of paper you get. 10pcs of paper per bottle of water utilised directly or for glue would be ok...
