I rarely write any comments but I just wanted to thank you for this video. I was able to override my vw passat cc 2011 steering column lock issue using you method amd it is working fine now. Thanka alot !
Это будет работать до первого скидывания аккумулятора. И потом заново надо будет достать блок переключить на другую защелку поставить, убрать и опять зажать эту защёлку и только потом заведется . Сам сейчас так езжу, думаю как менять блок
Hello. Really good Video. However, I beleve after turn off engine the control will await for signal change at limit swiches. So I expect any signal lamps blinking. However, if you are under way you could ignore. Therefore, I beleve it is a very good method. Anyway, at my Volkswagen Passat 7 (2011) today I chose another method. I glowed a 0.9mm piece of plastic at the actuator plate of upper limit switch. Now the small motor does not have to travel such long as before. It reaches end position much earlyer. First 3 tests today have been sucsessfull 😊 I did not mount steering lock back on steering column. I put it electrically conected into the plastic cover below steering wheel.
any uk residents that use this method, be aware than MOT will fail you for the message on the dashboard despite the car working as normal. Im based in N.I and my car failed today with this fix applied..
Hi how are you is it any warning lights after this modification when you leave it shut down is it dings after minutes and bring orange steering simbol?
Thanks for stopping by so it will give that warning light but I remove the instrumental cluster and remove the led bulbs but couldn't show it because it go against UA-cam
For the passat b6 it doesn't work. When I remove the battery, the same message appears in red and the car doesn't start. You have to turn that Elm on the lock switch and then on the unlock again to start engine.

I put in the ELM only the electronic part, I tightened the bottom switch with a collar and that small motor with the empty black circle. The problem is like when I disconnected the battery the car, the error comes back in red and the car won't start. I have to remove the ELM, remove the collar from the bottom switch, activate the top switch, turn on the ignition, then remove the key from the ignition, activate the bottom switch and only then does the car start .But the problem reappears every time when I disconnect the battery. You probably didn't try to disconnect the battery. But when you want to work on something on the car and I need to disconnect the battery, I have to do the above steps in ELM by activating the two switches- keys and the key in the ignition. I stayed all day today. Of course I did the step-by-step method like you, but it doesn't work for my car. In the end I will have to buy a new one. It was too nice, but the method is good for me too .I don't know what to do anymore. Thanks
Hi Sir, great vid, what did you remove to bypass? I have fixed the Steering Column lock module by changing to chips and it is back to the same issues again. I would like to permanently bypass it if possible

Nice Video but It didnt work on The 2014 Tiguan I was working on. Now the prompt say Steering Column faulty flashing red steering light indicator
You may get that message but it should still work while ignoring it

It is a simple bypass following the same steps and you good to go I explained

Just remove the gears and other components just leave the motor attached to the circuit board
