8:07 in a university lab setting we used a stronger version of HOCl (we made it) to compare to bleach and other household disinfectants on sponges which we used to wipe stuff...a lot. We cut the sponges into cubes, soaked the pieces in different agents for different sets of times, then swabbed and used agar dishes to grow everything. HOCl did the best. For skin use the pH is lower than the one we were using but it's really good, it's just not always super shelf stable...I've seen it for skin use in a lot of places and have been curious about how they stabilize it but it's a really great product. pH of 4.5 is pretty close to acetic acid.
As someone who has bought and returned thousands of dollars worth of skincare (low and high end) because I was not satisfied... everything I've tried from Prequel has been amazing!! The gleanser is unmatched, both my sister and I switched to it and love it! The vitamin c is amazing, I actually started wearing vitamin c again because of this product. Also, it's in a glass pump jar so it won't get oxidized quickly! Ive also tried two different lotions and they are awesome. So surprised and happy with this skincare line!
@@rakhsanar5291no, drugstores like Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. have the same return policy for opened skincare products as they do with most of their other merchandise- as long as you have the receipt and you didn’t use up like 90% of the product, and you return it within the eligible return window (ex: 30 days, 60 days, etc.) you will get your money back. Hi Dr. Dray! You and Dr. Sam Ellis (the founder of Prequel) are the two dermatologists I watch regularly on UA-cam, so it's cool to see you reviewing her brand. I'm a big fan of the Barrier Therapy Cream... very affordable price for the amount of product you get, and the tube has lasted me all winter.
The gleanser has become my holy grail for my extremely sensitive dry body skin. I can literally feel my skin healing. The vit c is also amazing. Incredibly simple ingredients yet my skin has never been so glowing. I’ve never repurchased a vit c until this one! There is a hotdog water smell and is strong (I’m an esti an have ironclad skin and I do feel a little warmth with this product). 100000% recommend
You like absolutely beautiful in this video. Seriously, just stunning. I use the Prequel line because I had an impaired skin barrier. I am not a fan of the sensory experience of the gleanser, but he skin barrier cream followed by the skin utility ointment absolutely saved my face. I LOVE the vitamin C serum as it is gentle and never irritates my face and after one month it is definitely reducing my hyperpigmentation and evening my skin tone a lot. I really find the Prequel line super helpful and except for the gleanser I enjoy using all the products. I am 100% sold on Prequel.
I love the 4 products I've tried from the brand - the Gleanser is THE BEST! I have mature, very dry skin and eczema. No cleanser has performed better, I'm never going back. I also absolutely love the urea lotion and sunscreen. The skin protectant cream is really wonderful for my eczema skin and so smooth. Love them and will try the vitamin c next.
I am trying a bunch of Prequels products too. So far the Glenser is slightly too striping for my VERY dry mature skin. I prefer it as a second cleanser after using a balm or oil cleanser for a first cleanse. Love that it can be used on the body too which seems to be no problem. It’s great as a body cleanser for the whole family. I'm also loving the Barrier Cream, also great for the whole family 😊
@@hithere8140 As a double cleanse definitely too stripping for me. As a single cleanse after a balm cleanser or an oil cleanser seems fine (no tight feeling). Unfortunately for me an unlikely a re-purchase. I think this a fabulous cleanser for normal to possibly slightly oily or slightly dry skin. Hope this makes sense 😊
I’m using this line now for 2 weeks, and it is perfect, I love everything about it, the ingredients, the price… and my skin looks brighter and more hydrated…
I love the sunscreen so much! So easy to apply, absorbs easily, high spectrum coverage, leaves a barely there sheen and doesn’t pile. Checks all the boxes!!
I love this brand. The universal skin solution and barrier therapy cream help me tolerate Tretinoin more than anything else I’ve tried. The cleanser is such a unique texture. I can’t believe it’s so affordable for the amount of product you get.
@@lisacone9355 I use the universal solution, soothing toner from Paula’s Choice, a barrier serum from Krave, tretinoin, then barrier repair cream on top.
I LOVE these products. I am one of those people that could not use Cerave, but all the Prequel products work for me. I use the Vit C serum in the a.m. , then put on a light layer of the urea ( milk) cream and then the sunscreen….I get no pilling.
I am 40 with rosacea and I use tretinoin. First I bought the cleanser and the barrier therapy oat cream... I absolutely love the products. They feel so smooth and hydrating and make a notable difference. I repurchased and bought the vitamin c and the hypochlorous acid. When I wake up, my skin is so hydrated and my rosacea is calm. I am not new to skin care and these have made so much difference on my skin. I also have found that butylene glycol irritates my skin and prequel doesn't have that ingredient. I plan on purchasing more products and repurchase the products I love
I have tried the lotion, ointment and cleanser. I love the lotion, not greasy and fast absorbing. Ointment is great but I prefer CeraVe. The cleanser is great and lasts forever!
I love everything about Prequel! I have been a big fan of Dr Ellis for a few years- I think what I love most is her solid research. I truly believe her Lucent C product is every bit as good and effective as the pricier version. I only use Prequel products now and will not go back- thanks for reviewing so your followers can see what that the hype is real❤
I have extremely sensitive skin that easily burns with so many products. I love the Prequel products that I have used so far. The Gleanser, the heavier lotion and barrier therapy. I have mature dry skin and love the Gleanser for cleansing my face.
I have tried the Prequel sunscreen which I very much enjoy. It hasn’t pilled and does not cause an unsightly cast on my deeper skin tone. There is a slight cast but not bad. I am trying the Gleanser next. Thanks so much for reviewing the other products. I agree that these products seem straightforward, effective and nice quantities at a reasonable price point.
I have had a great experience with the vitamin C serum. The smell was not issue at all. The products remain stable the entire time, and the results have been good. Highly recommend.
The Urea milk balls very easily when I use it on my face after other skin care products. I have to be very careful not to do a full pump. I got it to see if would be my new staple.
Loving the Prequel Lucent C serum so far. Had gotten away from Vitamin C due to trying other products. But thought this was a reasonably priced, well-formulated and very well packaged product so I decided to try it. So far, I love it!
I love Prequel! I have oily, reactive skin. The Barrier Therapy moisturizer has been SO nice on my skin. It doesn't make me any more oily, but I feel moisturized and supple. I've been through 3 Gleansers now - I usually use that as my am cleanser or on the nights that I use actives (my skin screams when I do too much). I'm excited to try the hand cream and the lighter moisturizer. Also, their shipping has been super speedy. I'm a fan.
Yes!!! Love that the cleanser passes the mascara test. :) I'm going to pick it up, I love that it's an oil free and fragrance free gel. Thanks, Dr. Dray! I couldn't be more impressed with the reasonable price point for this line, also.
I love the cleanser and Vit C is magical!!! The only ascorbic acid that I’ve tried without Vit E which clogs my pores badly!! I can’t wait to see what’s next for Prequel! Thanks for reviewing
Great Dr. Dray. I follow you from Italy! My dermatologist says the same thing as you about skin health. Retinol, sunscreen and a few other products to hydrate!! Greetings from Italy!😊😊
14:38 There are certain sunscreens and products that pill from my face no matter what I do and don’t do. They simply don’t work with my skin type. For example, Dior Sunscreen. Or the Supergoop glow, it works only on bare face and of if I spread it as fast as I can and don’t touch my face after that.
Hi I have jumped on this train a while back and I absolutely love the first product I bought was the barrier skin cream and then I recently tried the urea moisturizing milk, which I love as well I have dry skin that is a bit eczema prone and certain areas and I find it really helps. I also have tried gleanser and although I haven’t used it much, I do like it and I love the fact that the products are fully free. Thank you for the review. Have a great day.
I bought the moisturizer, cleanser, ointment and vitamin c. Great price point for the volume and cost but ultimately not worth it for me. The cleanser left my skin dry and I have combination skin. I was hoping the barrier moisturizer wouldn’t sting when my skin barrier was compromised but it definitely did and didn’t hydrate enough. The ointment was ok and the vitamin c. Since trying these products I have found some holy grail products I don’t plan on replacing them. The vani cream cleanser and moisturizer does wonders even if my skin barrier is compromised.! I’ve been using the Amlactin lotion on my face and body and it’s been wonderful fading hyperpigmentation and giving me a glow. & azelaic acid
Thank you for mentioning what works for you and you consider as holy grails! I always wonder when people leave it hanging that something works better but do not advise what it is. Good info for me as I love the Vanicream products that my Dermatologist recommended. I always look for the next best thing but come back to this tried/true basic. Thanks again!
@@judiheightstx8427 no problem! I always keep coming back to these products so I’m sticking with them now! Of If I could only recommend one product it would definitely be the Amlactin lotion 15%! My skin has never been sooo smooth/soft and so glowy it’s amazing
I started using the Gleanser a few months ago. My super dry skin loves it. I started using Tretinoin right after and it’s helped with not stripping my skin. I’m still on my first bottle. It’s SO much product for not a ton of money. Also started using the sunscreen and have zero complaints.
I really like the Gleanser so far. Yes, it's US$18, but it's a big bottle. I've been using it for about three weeks or so and I've barely made a dent in it. I use it on my body as well, but you don't need to use much to get a good lather for face OR body. The amount she used in her demo is a bit more than I use on my face and body every night. A little bit goes a LONG way. It doesn't seem to dry my normal/dry facial skin further. I don't get that dry, tight feeling on my face after using it. So, that's a big plus imho 😊 I also like the bright, chrome-silver packaging 🩶 It's eye-catching 🤩 This is the only Prequel product I've used so far, but I'm impressed. I'd like to try the Lucent-C. Seems like the packaging on that is pretty well-thought-out 🧐
Thanks for covering! I agree about the Urea lotion being lightweight. I wish they had a pump bottle of lotion more suited for dry winter skin. They made another Gleanser so here’s hoping.
I tried the vitamin c and it is amazing. I am about starting the second bottle. I hope they start shipping to Canada soon. My friend lives in US and she posted two bottles to me.
i love the ointment on my lips bc it doesnt taste bad and the cleanser for my face and body! i have really itchy/irritated skin on my face and body and this cleanser is something thats very surprisingly helped with that. i was just looking for something that wouldnt cause further irritation, was pleasantly surprised to have the benefit of relief for my usually problematic skin!
I bought the Prequel barrier therapy skin protectant cream not too long ago and I am a dry skin person living in a dry climate. The cream "seems" lightweight but as you use it I found it to be very hydrating - finally finding something that wasn't too heavy but worked like it was. I defiantly recommend at least trying it. I am diabetic and really have to watch the feet as well and this cream goes everywhere and makes my skin feel great. The price is for SURE right too! Thanks for the full review - some of the other items seem tempting too :)
I have tried all the Prequel products except the 2 new Skin Utility (gel and balm) that just came out. I like all of them except the SPF which is way too light on me. I like the feel of the Barrier cream but not sure it's any more moisturizing than my favorite Cetaphil with Shea Butter Lotion. I find the Gleanser hard to wash off, and I think I prefer my Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I am very impressed with the foot cream and the socks! I think the Lucent C broke me out. The Urea Cream is nice. I alternate it with my Amlactin. I do appreciate that everything is fragrance free and cruelty free! The prices are mostly very reasonable for the size.
I have eczema and over the last 5 years have developed rosácea. I recently bought the gleanser and it was SOOOOOOOO soothing, 3 days later I ordered the moisture milk, the redness relief and the universal skin spray. Just got those in the mail today. Im VERY excited to see how they work. Thank you for this review.
Thank you! A few Prequel products are now available at Target. My store has Lucent C Vitamin C Facial Serum 1oz, Universal Skin Facial Facial Solution Hypochlorous Acid Spray 4oz, Skin Utility Ointment Facial Treatment 2oz, Facial Gleanser Cleanser 13.5oz, Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++
I have tried many of the Prequel products and really like them with the exception of the sunscreen. I also experienced the pilling and also (this is just me) I prefer to use a tinted sunscreen that serves as my makeup. My favorite is Colorscience Flex. It is pricey so I would love to find one I like as much but is less costly. As for the Prequel products I feel they are a very good value.
The Colorescience Flex Shield is my HG, too! I occasionally try others, but immediately go back to it. I've bought a year's worth every Black Friday since it came out 😅 Great sunscreen!
Yay! I LOVE everything in this line! I haven’t tried the foot cream, vitamin C or Gleanser yet but her pricing and the results I’ve seen using her products have taken my skin to the next level. I would love to see you review on Dr. Sherene Idriss’s line-her pricing is really high in my opinion. Love your opinions and research! Thanks for what you do!
I adore this line. Cleanser doesn’t work for my face (causes clogged pores) but has been wonderful on my body. Ditto the Urea moisturizer. Also adore the foot and hand products even though they’re basically nicely packaged versions of Gloves in a Bottle and your favorite foot product (can’t remember the name). The Vitamin C quickly became my HG serum though - my skin drinks it up, no breakouts, and moisturizing.
Love you and love Dr. Ellis. I have loved each Prequel product I have ordered! The Gleanser is my favorite! Thank you for you honest review and I just ordered their universal skin solution and the skin utility gel and balm 😊 can’t wait to receive and try them!
Thank you for testing this brand! Now I’m sure that for me it’s too pricey for what it is, which was my first thought when I saw it. I love your reviews and trust you!
i think i may be the only person who doesn't like the gleanser. I have oily-ish skin and it didn't feel like it was actually cleansing my skin. I LOVE the barrier therapy lotion and the Urea lotion though. And also just love how affordable the brand is and how BIG the products are. Thanks for the review!
I used the Gleanser (as my body wash) and the skin protectant cream this winter, as my skin gets dry/itchy during the winter months. I did not have any issues with dryness/itchiness when I used these products over the winter. I love Prequel!
I’ve tried, and love, the Gleanser and the hypochloric acid spray. Would love to see a brand review like this for Stratia. Most of the products in my current line up are Prequel and Stratia and my skin has been great.
My favorite product from prequel is their skin utility gel multipurpose skin protectant. I have super dry skin and I know this is geared towards oily skin. But I have tried the others and this one is my favorite. It leaves my skin so soft to touch and moisturized. I do really like their urea Advanced relief and the barrier therapy is so great. My other favorite from prequel line in their multi quench plumping hydration serum. Love Absolutely love.
What a great rundown. And I am interested in this brand. The two products I most interested in our cleanser or gleanser as they call it, and the vitamin C.
I have a request for a video. Can you do video about how to to build an am & pm routine? Like what are the basic products to use like cleanser, toner, etc. I know it will depend on what you are trying to accomplish, but in general the basic steps would be great.
Very grateful for you taking the time to look into and try these products. I"ve been very intrigued on a couple like the gleanser and how it might do against sunscreen. Your review is helpful as always...Side note, I used the skinsmart spray when healing a surgical wound after remembering your videos on it. It worked great. I'm now trying it out on the face.
Thanks for the review, Dr. Dray! I’ve been loving their Barrier Therapy cream and just tried the Gleanser today. We’ll see! I’m hoping that they come out with a gentle retinal product WITHOUT niacinamide.
I love everything I've tried from Prequel so far, but yeah the sunscreen pills over other products.. BUT it is perfect for my morning workout. I wake up, wipe my face with gentle hydrating toner and a cotton pad, spray hypochlorous on my face, and then use the Prequel sunscreen. After my workout, I do my actual morning skincare routine with a different sunscreen over my skin products. It works well for me in this instance!
I am trying to heal my skin because I used hibiclens on my armpits and under my breasts for over 8 years until I saw Dr. Dray's video about it. Now I have a rash that won't go away!!
Thanks for reviewing the brand Dr. Dray!

Thank you for telling your opinion of this product! Have a great week!❤️
i love the ointment on my lips bc it doesnt taste bad and the cleanser for my face and body! i have really itchy/irritated skin on my face and body and this cleanser is something thats very surprisingly helped with that. i was just looking for something that wouldnt cause further irritation, was pleasantly surprised to have the benefit of relief for my usually problematic skin!
I am using the Barrier repair and the universal skin solution and it is really helping my rosacea.
I’m dying to use an entire line of products and gave every single one of them work ! I literally have to use different brands to get what i need
How is your rosacea with all these items?
I have rosacea too so excited to try.
R u still loving the cleanser ?
Thank you! A few Prequel products are now available at Target.
My store has Lucent C Vitamin C Facial Serum 1oz, Universal Skin Facial Facial Solution Hypochlorous Acid Spray 4oz, Skin Utility Ointment Facial Treatment 2oz, Facial Gleanser Cleanser 13.5oz, Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++
Would love to hear your review of Remedy!
Prequel is going to be sold in Target. Not sure when.
Love the cleanser and Lucent-C! Definitely gonna try some of these others
Love you and love Dr. Ellis. I have loved each Prequel product I have ordered! The Gleanser is my favorite! Thank you for you honest review and I just ordered their universal skin solution and the skin utility gel and balm 😊 can’t wait to receive and try them!
Love Gleanser!!! My favorite new cleanser!!!
Thank you for testing this brand! Now I’m sure that for me it’s too pricey for what it is, which was my first thought when I saw it. I love your reviews and trust you!
It's the same price as drugstore, and a lot better quality!!!
i think i may be the only person who doesn't like the gleanser. I have oily-ish skin and it didn't feel like it was actually cleansing my skin. I LOVE the barrier therapy lotion and the Urea lotion though. And also just love how affordable the brand is and how BIG the products are. Thanks for the review!
The gleanser is my new favorite face cleanser
I like every product I’ve tried from Prequel
The prices are fantastic too
I’m so happy you did this review, thank you!! I just ordered their new redness soothing serum and the facial mist!
I used the Gleanser (as my body wash) and the skin protectant cream this winter, as my skin gets dry/itchy during the winter months. I did not have any issues with dryness/itchiness when I used these products over the winter. I love Prequel!
Good morning:) excited for your review
Morning!
I’ve tried, and love, the Gleanser and the hypochloric acid spray. Would love to see a brand review like this for Stratia. Most of the products in my current line up are Prequel and Stratia and my skin has been great.
Thanks for your review, I've been very curious about this brand. I'd love to see a video of those cleansers that meet "the mascara test".
Love
Absolutely love.
Happy Monday, Dr. Dray ❤
What a great rundown. And I am interested in this brand. The two products I most interested in our cleanser or gleanser as they call it, and the vitamin C.
Thanks for making this video! Do you have a preference between the Prequel Gleanser and the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser?
I have a request for a video. Can you do video about how to to build an am & pm routine? Like what are the basic products to use like cleanser, toner, etc. I know it will depend on what you are trying to accomplish, but in general the basic steps would be great.
I have sensitive skin/atopic dermatitis and the cleanser consistently made the skin around my mouth tingly/numb.
I was literally hoping for this video omg !
I would like to see a Jones Road foundation and miracle Baum review for mature skin.
Both products contain essential oils, so if that doesn't bother your skin, especially the miracle balm.
I like the Gleanser and sunscreen the most!
can’t wait to watch this! i use their gleanser everyday and love it! their lotion broke my face out but i’ve been using it on my body this winter
What type of skin do you have and do you use it twice a day??
Awesome brand review. God I love Dr Dray!
I love the Prequel ointment. I use it on my face.
Lovethe cleanser and lotion and the price. Thanks for the review of the rest.❤
Prequel is so good. Huge fan. Good bang for your buck too!
I am really enjoying my Prequel products so I’m glad to see you giving them a glowing review!!! I own their Gleanser, Urea body milk lotion & SPF 😊❤
Yayyyy!!! I really wanted you to review this!
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
I am trying to heal my skin because I used hibiclens on my armpits and under my breasts for over 8 years until I saw Dr. Dray's video about it. Now I have a rash that won't go away!!
Loved this video. Can you review DIME beauty skin care line. So curious to know what dermatologists think of it
Thank you for reviewing this ☺️
