Hi I'm planning to get a second balance but curious about how the stereo pair sounds. Does it make huge difference compare to only 1 balance? Thank you
Hi John, great informative video's thanks. Got one question though. How about software updates for newer internet connected B&O products, how long do they get software updates? especially the security updates. I have a few older products wich never had any update. (Beosound 5 and some headphones). The Beosound 5 Encore had its last update in 2011, and I bought it at a B&O dealer in 2013. so it was already dismissed while it was still sold. It is now connected to my Guest wifi network, so it is outside my home network. I'm interested in a newer B&O product, but I am very reluctant because of these security issues.
Hi John, thanks again for this video. I am looking to purchase my second Beosound Level to do the pairing and will need advise from you again. My current version is without Google Assist, if I buy the seccond one with Google Assist, will the pairing work well, and will the google assist function when it is in paired mode. Thanks again in advance.
Very cool feature, but I hope this isn’t B&Os solution to not releasing a Beolab 17 replacement, it would be sad not to eventually have new bookshelf Beolab’s!
To be able to use the new stereo pairing, I had to delete the app and then restore it on both my iPad and iPhone, I phoned bang and olufsen who are now aware of the problem.
Speaker Link like this, no, as Beosound 1 & 2 are not based on the Mozart Platform. You can pair the latest generation with the Google Assistant built in through the Google Home app though if that helps? John
Hi John. We just bought a pair of levels as the sound system in our short stay accom. Once they are paired in the b&o app, will they remain paired (with each other) when a guest selects them from their own phone via Spotify?
Hi John, great video! Now, if you have a Level Pair 1 and Level Pair 2 - can you play both pairs at the same time? 😊 I appreciate any feedback you might have. Thank you!
Great, thanks John! I’ve done it - now, the initial volume when I use AirPlay, the first pair comes in at one value of loudness, the second at a different value - even though the B&O App Sound Settings Default Vol is set to 20 on each pair. If you AirPlay both pairs and they join, the un-even volume scales with that difference in loudness. To get around this, I AirPlay one pair, set the vol, then remove AirPlay, then AirPlay the second set - adjust volume to the same level and the join the first set. Is there a better way to AirPlay and have a pre-set default volume? Other than this, 4 Levels are awesome! 😃😃
If you pair them (level) as a stereo, can you also still stream audio to them separately. For example, i want a set of setups (without going through the setup each time). A setup when watching tv/movie and a day setting where one speaker sits in the kitchen and an other in the living room.
Hi Joerg, make sure both are fully set up on the B&O app, it is important that both have the latest software too and both on the same wifi network. Every pair of Emerge, Level and Balance I have set up here has been as easy as it shows in the video. If you have followed all this and are still having issues contact your dealer for help as it may be a problem with the speaker or the network. John
I had an issue like this and our local B&O store ( Brett ) said the same as John, and B&O themselves were brill sorting the software remotely... Frustrating when things don't quite work but B & O support were brill and quick all round and we now have that lovely Bang & Olufsen stereo sound !
No, they have to be identical speakers. Pairing 2 different speakers in stereo would not sound right at all. They can both be linked with multi room using Chromecast or Airplay 2 but they will not be a stereo pair. John
Actually i think you can get easier than that its called a radio where you just switch it on and tune it I’m and bingo it plays music. Sorry John but I’m not sold on digital complexity no matter how slick its marketed. I have a New Beosound 1 and yes it looks beautiful but you never know if when you tap the top of it wether or not its going to play ball and actually switch on and play music and despite numerous pressing heart symbols in the app it still cant swipe through channels on the unit with any certainty. Why oh why cant B&O just make a beautiful radio that doesn’t rely on the internet and all the associated complexities, i will tell you why its because the product placement is too biased towards everything internet based and B&O probably consider it beneath them to have anything so strait forward, i used to love B&O but now it leaves me cold because it looks so beautiful but performance wise its plain confusing and ruining listening
I’m sorry but honestly if you want radio your gonna need to get a nice one in the car or nice setup at home the problem is radio frequency isn’t a high quality sound output and can actually ruin speakers. So no I would never use radio on my high quality speakers ever. It wouldn’t make sense since it’s a Bluetooth device and that’s a lot of work for everything to work together like that hence why we just stick to Bluetooth and not really radio unless it’s in the car or other weird products that you would like.
@@iangrace232 thank you Ian. I have actually learned how to use the item, my point is its not 100% reliable. You can tap gently on the top of it “and yes the thin end of the cone is the top I’ve managed to sort that out” it then beeps once and then starts playing fine ,other times when you tap the top it sits silently and nothing happens. Then you have to dig out your mobile device and activate it through that. I have about 15 fave stations stored on the B&O app but can usually access possibly 4 of them on the BS1 only. And in the end get fed up with having to “reset” or reinstall the app. Now thanks for your suggestion but I’ve got to go and scythe the meadow in my hemp tunic with my floppy straw hat while masticating on a piece of straw as i tie up these sheathes for masters thresher machine. Then later today i have to get the cart horse wheel re rimmed at the blacksmith! OHH life in the 19th century its all go…..
A valid point one problem, despite its ? Glitches …. its a beautiful looking device and I appreciate the quality of the aluminium finishing so i forgive it, its faults.
As usual John very informative, easy to follow instructions.
Hi John, took your advice and got the Level instead. As you said, amaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzing.... thanks for the great reviews and thoughtful advice. Cheers
So things are happening then. Great stuff!
Now THAT's magic!
So we can now listen to your UA-cam videos in stereo? Yaaaay!
All I need is a stereo mic!
I have AirPods max I can experience it already 😌🙈
Hi John and Michael, is there any way to stereo pair two non-GVA Beosound 2?
Thanks in advance!

@@bernhard1215 yes, the most discernible difference is in music with a wide soundstage and stereo separation. I’d highly recommend a pair
@@umangjain420 thanks a lot for replying. When stereo paired, does Spotify connect work? Or you can only play music via Airplay/chrome cast?

There you go! As promised 😊👍 Tempted to get another Emerge…😁
Indeed Claes, I got all excited when the notification came through! 2 Emerge actually sound really sweet, I've been playing with them all today. John
I did... Superb !
Thanks John, one question: once my 2 B&O Balances are paired do I still need wifi internet connection or will they work without wifi?
Hi.will it be better to go for two beolit 20's in stereo or 1 level.which will sound better?
Do you think they will include the M5 in the future?
Thanks, John! Are paired speakers recognized as a single device when you use Airplay on iOS devices?
Yes
To be able to use the new stereo pairing, I had to delete the app and then restore it on both my iPad and iPhone, I phoned bang and olufsen who are now aware of the problem.
Seems like a dumb call it’s not that hard to update an app or delete and reinstall it not all apps can do Ota updates
I thought atutomatic updates were automatic perhaps they ain’t.
Jhon can use the line in, un the balance for stereo pairing?
Is there a way to wire connect the two Balances and feed input from a wired source?
Is there a balance setting?
Hi John. Can a level pair with a soundstage? Thanks

Yes, they will stay paired to each other unless you tell them to separate in the app.
Just bought the explore. Is it worth me purchasing another to stereo pair for a campervan, or would it be frivolous. Thanks in advance

How about Beosound 2 stereo ???
In order to pair two levels, do they both need to be the same model?
They do
Imagine this functionality on a Beosound Edge for example... you wouldn't even need a subwoofer.
Hi Max, your can stereo pair 2 edges using Google home. I bought 2 and they sound amazing.
@@jasper28273 Oh really, that would be awesome.
I wonder, can you pair 2 speakers but the input is from line-in?
err yes you can but not on google assist models
Why no stereo pairing for the M5? Very irritating.
Can I pair 2 A9 MK4 via B&O app?
No, but you can use the Google stereo pairing in the Google Home app as A9 is not part of the Mozart platform.
I kept on getting “software Update Failed”
One limit/defect is the fact that it must be switched on and off manually. Can not be done from the app. Very annoying
