You are just a kid... I started 2022 at 76 to get my cert... and I have visited Hollister a few times... great place to fly into... nice video I appreciate your time and effort... fly safe...
Thank you Carlos. I constructed a cover for the windshield GoPro and will test that soon. I will definitely check out the DJI. I checked out your channel. Very nice!
Student Pilot here with 45hours & awaiting Checkride…love your video and beautiful plane!! Any tips for new aircraft ownership & finding a mechanic that is reputable? (Where should one look to vet a mechanic)
Your check ride is coming up? Very exciting! I don’t know where you are based but what I did (25-years ago) was to join the pilots association at my airport. Wealth of knowledge from the members. They know which mechanic(s) are the best. Remember, the first annual will be the most expensive. The mechanic does not know the airplane yet.
@@letsfly72x thanks! I’m in Oregon. I joined the Oregon Pilot Association a year ago and also in AOPA. I’ll check our chapter in OPA and see if they have recommendations. The plane I have my sights on is just a small Cherokee 180. I fly a 172Skyhawk now for training and is closer to what I would feel is best for my experience, unless you have any suggestions too?
My first plane was a 1964 Cherokee 180 (N7655W) What a great plane! I flew that plane all over the country and Mexico. Another thing you can do regarding mechanics (if you have ForeFlight or similar) is to look at the airports page of any airport you would consider bringing your plane too and check out the comments section to see if anyone has commented on the mechanics (business) there
I guess I should have clarified that. Yes, pushing the prop forward is changing the pitch of the prop. It’s slang I guess? I am moving the prop lever forward. Thank you for subscribing to the channel.
I have a 1973 Arrow II. I have been thinking about Electronic Ignition. Some say they are great others say they are from Satin himself. What brand did you buy?
I have a 1975 Arrow and I really like the electronic ignition. I have the SureFly. I bought it from Aircraft Spruce and had Hollister Jet Center install it. My mechanic had never installed one but the next airport over from me had installed a lot of them. The only downside to the electronic ignition that I read on chat sites (did not hear it from the installers) is that it has parasite current draw. Allegedly, if you let your plane sit for over a month without flying, it will drain your battery. Not sure if this is true? It’s not in the manual anywhere and I have not had any issues. I do leave my plane battery on a trickle charger though. I love that it has a vacuum timing advance and you will get a little better fuel efficiency and the climb rate increases. I hope this helps
It was nice and secure. There was one part of the video where the sound from the wing camera was heard during a cabin shot. I should have muted it in the editing but missed it
It was edited out. I actually use the POH checklist and it takes me longer than I assume people can tolerate watching on a video. Great question, thank you!
Great local flight into our home base @ KCVH... yes, Hollister Jet Center is outstanding! Awesome video!
Thank you!
Interesting to watch you fly, I just took my first flight lesson in Hollister, age 71! Great fun!
Congratulations on taking your first flight lesson. The beginning of new adventures ✈️
Dan, checking in to see how your flight training is going

@@EzeikelGundelfingerThank you for watching. Glad you pulled the trigger on getting your PPL. Never to old to start flying✈️
That’s a fine looking Arrow.
Really appreciate that. It looks like you have a fine looking Barron
@@letsfly72x thank you!
Outstanding pilot. Magnificent aircraft. I’d fly with him anytime.
Thank you my friend. You are welcome aboard any time!
Nice seeing another local pilot. GoPros overheat all the time. DJI Osmo action cameras have been great for me

Almost looked like passanger side door was open during part of the flight.

No run up/ mag check before takeoff? 😮(Edited out…?)
